Daffodils crave caresses from the sun,
yet, April showers must first melt the frost.
For, rain announces that spring has begun,
as plants sprout, and Winter's covers get tossed.
Songbirds start singing on the sunny days
of spring as robin redbreasts build their nests.
And happily bask in the sun's warm rays
while priming and preening their feathered chests.
Forests of trees deploy emerald leaves,
soaking up sunbeams streaming toward Earth.
And with each ray a sprouting plant receives;
opportunities grow for life and birth.
Nothing in Nature is ever random,
sunshine and showers arrive in tandem.
