In Tandem

Crocuses crave caresses from the sun, as soon as April showers melt the frost. And as raindrops announce springtime's begun, flowers sprout, and Winter covers get tossed. Songbirds start serenading sunny days while priming and preening their feathered chests. And happily basking in the sun's rays, Robin Redbreasts begin building mud nests. Forests of trees deploy emerald leaves, to capture sunbeams streaming toward Earth. And with each ray a sprouting plant receives, opportunities grow for life and birth. Nothing in Nature is ever random, sunshine and showers arrive in tandem.

I enjoy reading this sonnet, how one line leads to the meter of the next and catches you up. Congratulations on your top win. It is certainly deserving of it.

A wonderful winner, Emile. Truly touching. I especially love the finishing couplet. (Teaching teen-agers, as I did for so many years, I appreciate the PROPER use of the word, 'random.') Kudos! Best wishes, Gershon
