*Super Moon 3/20/19

I was swallowed by the moon
Its brightness captured me
It hadn’t come too soon
Needing light to consume me
And so it did, from a dark winter night
My soul moved to and fro
With its endless moon path in sight
Glimmering all over the snow
Nothing but a lift, pulled me above
From the place where I stood
Igniting my heart with love
Like nothing else could

Premium Member swallowed by the night -

the heavens yawn a sea of suns above me
each shining gem to countlessly attest
to how I conned her barren heart to love me
by pining for the passions she possessed

the saga of our love has found its closure
while I, with bold temerity, did ask
if she might give, thereof, honest disclosure
instead of serving, cold, the bloody task

why can't the midnight skies embrace my being
and turn me to the dust from whence I came?
the use has left my eyes, for tears or seeing
her proclivity for just assigning blame

you see, she found her way into my marrow
each nuance of her face now haunts by soul
life's aperture, today, is oh, so narrow
despair as deep as space, and black as coal

so please, dear firmament, consume my spirit
devour me with the flame of earthly death
though she has no intent to ever hear it
please make her tender name ...

my final breath.

Swallowed Death

I wade the waterside enticing death.
The sea extols the brash to th’ outermost
Abyss. A ‘know it all’, I challenged this
Watery host.

I capsized in the tumultuous seas;
I’m in the heart of the abyssal deep.
The billowing waters; they crest and fall,
Enmesh and sweep.

Disjointed and astray from sight, I strive
Complacently for that redemptive shoal.
This mortuary that’s surrounding me
Entombs my soul.

I look toward the surface as I scan
The depth of darkness for some tethered hope.
I clutch my hands into the obvious
End of my rope.

The moorings are beyond my grasp. I gasp
And struggle for air as I hold my breath.
The hint is clear enough; I closed my eyes
And swallowed Death.

The Cat That Swallowed the Hat

The hat in the cat, that swallowed it whole

Then jumped in my arms, and he started to grow....

A cain for his paw and taps for his shoes

He then leaned over and whispered

"But have you heard the news?"

I opened my eyes and I lifted my head

Yet the cat was not there; it was a dream, I said

Still what was this news as I climbed out of bed

And opened the blinds, but the trees were all dead....

I looked to my left, then I looked to my right

Not a sound could be heard; I could find no life!?

Jumped in the shower and brushed my teeth

Put on my suit, and then, there appeared a wreath....

But what does it mean, I thought, and what was this dream?

As I stepped out my door, unto a desolate scene ~

I got in my car and I started to drive

Thought to myself, am I the only Soul that's alive?

I drove and drove until the day turned to night

Never passing nor seeing not even one life....

I began to weep as I lowered my eyes, slowly down

Tears upon my cheeks, which fell silent to the ground

Yet then, I heard a voice which spoke softly in my ear....

So I lifted my and I swallowed my tears ~

Tears within my vision that made it ever so clear

Like the cat within my dream, that whispered

"Oh, but the time is so near"....

The Boy Who Swallowed the Sea

I once had a friend
who swallowed the sea,
with a thirst so great
it was awesome to see.

Gulping down water,
in large mouthfuls he drank.
Then into the sea,
I was pushed and I sank!

Sitting on a sea turtle,
I yelled up, "Please stop!
I'm sorry I poured
pepper sauce in your pop."

Swallowed a Bug

There once was a man who swallowed a bug
Put his hand in his mouth and started to tug
He hemmed and he hawed
Even pulled out a saw
Now he smiles with only one tooth on his mug

Floods Swallowed My Beamer

I loved it very dear
A unique find it was

I drove it very far
Without any fear

Driving was pleasure
Travelling in, a pride

Its presence a delight
That many saw in awe

It was a fairy in white
Darting across milestones

Skimmed on Highways
Carrying family to places

Safely, surely and quickly
It sped with grace and gleam

It made many turn heads
To see it in motion, a poetry

It was a beauty to behold
To possess, though, it was dear!

Yet I saw it drown, in my house
When floods came by; untold

I had to part with my luv, my BMW
Considered as next only to my wife

Whatever lovely association ended
And my Beamer suddenly disappeared.

The Night Swallowed Whole

The night passes onward

The fear of sleeping, like a coward

The dark past is drilled into the back of his mind

Just wish he could go back and rewind

Back through the broken hourglass overflowing with the sands of time

He can’t drown his demons, they know how to swim

As the moon aligns higher in the sky, he knows he can’t win

The mental scars that infiltrate his tattooed kingdom of a body

The feeling of being unworthy…. A nobody….

Fills his decimated circuits of impending memories

To the point of impact so all he sees

Is his former hero of a father unleashing a beating

But don’t you see the night is young… This is only the beginning

The beginning of the night terrors storming his head

Years will pass by, but he will never forget

Forget about the hell he faced during childhood

He would rather forget if he could

He is the King throughout the day

Portraying the mask of confidence and happiness with every sway

But when the sun goes down

So does his confident crown

An insomniac is born & swallowed whole by the night

The weariness & sleeplessness gets too hard to fight

Here is where the war of dark memories commence

And reality at that point makes no sense

The unconscious screaming & frantic movements scurry through the night

Then the awakening sudden frights strike

Strike the mind, with the body sweating from the battles waging on

So he drowns his fears with the lyrics of his favorite songs

To block out all the dark memories sieging his castle of dreams

He falls to his knees

His crown falls to the ground

He looks out to the stars until they fall

The sun rises & the cycle restarts

He is a dreamer full of fear

Waiting for the next night terror

He will sit upon his throne until the sun sets once again

Because it is those dark sickening memories he could never forget

As he closes his eyes at night

He returns back to the time, when he was a kid living in complete darkness full of fright.

That is when he feels trapped inside.

Like a labyrinth chained to the burden with no place to run or hide

Only left alone with a terror filled mind……

Swallowed

"Swallowed"

Swallowed
in the belly of the whale
epiphany rips my waves

more than a stone ripples 5
12 disciples
bare feet floating on yesterday’s grave

walk on water
Survive

Swallowed
in the belly of the whale
epiphany rips my waves

saltwater tears taste
an elixir
Communion of the Brave

A wake
Awake

Wave

Swallowed Arsenic, It's Fine

the orange of the burning house
is the most comforting color i've seen in years
it's better than the red that's been coming out
of my eyes and nose and ears

as a compulsive liar and a pyromaniac
i know a thing or two about hell
oh yeah, i'm doing fine, i've never cracked
and i've never been so well

i'm blowing all my energy
on hypothetical drugs
who needs TV
when you've got a bucket filled with bugs

I Swallowed a Fire Fly

I Swallowed a Fire Fly
Birds of words perched
On branches of life
Love streamed from mind
Like a melody.
It's getting dark
A soccer game of fertility
Hot rain and plough furrow,
Seeds in labor pain
A fire fly flying around.

Volcanic ashes shroud love
Desert storm howling over life
I sitting on the window sill
Enmeshed branches of blood streams.

Fire fly buzzes around me
Deeply irritated
I stretched at
An unnatural angle
And swallowed the fire fly.

Later to come to know
The fly was the burning ember
My soul rotating while revolving
In it's fixed orbit, preordained.

A Swallowed Cry

A Swallowed Cry

The dawn is smothered in haze as I
watch the sun wrap with wings of gold
                                        I swallow a swallowed cry.

As I watch his soul melt within the clouds
my memory lingers of our two intertwining
hearts sharing silk kisses I swallow
                                               A swallowed cry.

Nature is laughing with sweet serenades
as I listen with the anchor of my soul.

My heart is tangled inside, Still waters run
deep, As broken promises lies my paradise
my friendship is for keeps, yet you should
Know I swallow a swallowed cry.

River Ethiope Has Swallowed Another Big Fish

River Ethiope has swallowed another big
                                                                             fish

River Ethiope has swallowed another big
                                                                     fish
She waves her tail large the size of her
                                                          teeth

River Ethiope has swallowed a big
                                              fish
Her hungry is a mystery
                                 feed
Her fangs cold like her broad
                   hips

She is a regurgitating
       beast
chews her cods
slowly
she raises her prey up down
up again and down then up
the third time and. finally chews
after some days in the belly
vomit it prey
                                                                               stiff
                                                        stilled

                                                                       ill
many forgotten souls lie beneath her. deep

River Ethiope has hijacked another student
Like a hawk she dives prickly
On its prey at a glance sweeps like cyclone and steals
At the brink
 of her mouth another
Final year scholar she drinks who
Gone to be with the swim
is gone into
thin air only to be seen
 days later on
top of her skin white, stiff still
Eyes pop out.

River Ethiope is a. beast

 She never get filled

Swallowed the Lie

Are you not aware of this flailing virus,
This erroneous contagion of mass manipulation,
This corrupt monetary infliction that has enslaved us,
This pervasive forge toward death and destruction?

Awake, awake! End the illusory dream
You have swallowed the lie,
A deadly cocktail in your bloodstream,
A numbing mirage has caught your eye.

I wonder, if a silent revolution
  could be effective
Could it restore a global humanity?
Could it be our future is not elective
In the face of universal depravity?

Swallowed

Stones,

Mortar, and brick

Nowhere to turn without feeling sick, stoned

To my stomach

A bottomless pit

Unheard, smothered by a thousand succinct voices' verbose drone

Speaking as they spew toxic, putrid bile in the pit of my stomach

Plummeting, swirling dizzily in circles - a cyclone - cyclically, alone

Booming, the whispering silence of lucidity's susurrate disruption weighs heavily on my thoughts, placidly as it sits

Like boulders, slowly sinking deeper into quicksand - the bottomless pit of my stomach

Swallowed by immovable, inescapable stones,
Mortar, and brick
