The Boy Who Swallowed the Sea

I once had a friend
who swallowed the sea,
with a thirst so great
it was awesome to see.

Gulping down water,
in large mouthfuls he drank.
Then into the sea,
I was pushed and I sank!

Sitting on a sea turtle,
I yelled up, "Please stop!
I'm sorry I poured
pepper sauce in your pop."

Thanks, Daniel, I have printed more. Maybe you'll check them out sometime. I started writing them for my son when he was home from school so much from illness (cystic fibrosis). One time by his bedside in the hospital, I reached into my purse for a tissue to dry my tears. But instead,I pulled out a pen. I took that as a sign from God that I should write to handle my grief, instead of cry.I lost him when he was 13. Now I'll go and check out one of your poems.
