Best Swallow Poems
With mouth open wide
I swallow whole the moon
hoping to feel the tides
deep within the womb
of my feminine side
allow this man to bloom.
Pregnant with ideas
I am giving birth to poems.
These rocks, rivers and trees
are all my native homes,
a glossy jagged marble
to sanctify these bones.
So look above no more
upon the seas of night
to search for Luna, grand,
no orb will grace the sky
for I have snatched her fullness
and ate a great moon pie.

Beside the Zhuque Bridge wild flowers bloom lonely,
On the Wuyi Alley the setting sun beams serenely.
The swallows that once nested in halls of the noble,
Have now flown into the simple homes of the humble.

Turning and dipping in graceful, acrobatic flight,
my spirit soars against a sky brilliantly blue;
from these heights, I view life in its completeness,
its complex boundaries and limitations sharply defined.
I maintain my composure, calm and unruffled by the storms . . .
I sail above the strife where the sun spreads warmth upon my wings.
From this lofty perspective, I watch over my dearest ones.
This clear air provides treasures of wisdom, beauties like the facets of precious jewels,
sparkling with the vibrance that makes joy complete;
I glean and feed them to my little ones, giving them nutrients to enrich their minds.
Home is my central focus.
I learn and implement all that I can to make my nest comfortable and complete,
a rich environment for growth.
Do not intrude; I protect what is mine.

Personification
"Swallow A Smile"
When it first started
which would be impossible to trace,
we've accepted the fact that a smile
is only worn for the face!
Realizing what elicits this gesture
is when we are thoroughly pleased
as the corners of our mouths
tend to rise with relative ease!
What if we took that feeling
and to make it more worthwhile,
what if we did something
so simple as this....
"Swallow A Smile!"
That's right!....
"Swallow A Smile!"
Send that feeling way down
to our feet!
Who wouldn't want
to feel that feeling!
"Man!, that's got to feel sweet!"
What's the worst
that could possibly happen?
A case of the
"Giggles"
as it goes down!
The very idea to
"Swallow A Smile"
sure beats wearing a frown!
Unfortunately the world today
is in such a turmoil filled state!
Whatever could help
to provide relief,
"Wow! Wouldn't that be great!"
There is something
that pleases everyone
and causes within great joy,
like watching a child
light up like the sun
when they receive a new toy!
So the next time
something good happens
and you want to feel
"like your rolling in the aisle!"
With nothing to lose,
go ahead, try it once!
Enjoy the feeling....
"Swallow A Smile!"

I Force My Drink, Dark Poison To Swallow
Chastise me in my deep, darkest sorrow,
young lad of hopes and meandering streams.
I long for relief now not tomorrow,
or next year in lost fields of shallow dreams.
My goblet of pain it over floweth,
into forests of low hanging black fruits.
There I rage in my hurt, ill wind bloweth,
on this soul with misery in its roots.
I force my drink, dark poison to swallow,
cherished within eye of this bitter storm.
Life in tatters, this spirit now hollow,
darkness and wicked cuts the daily norm.
Leave me alone, in this coal black quagmire.
Lost am I, in hell's burning fire.

With blood shot eyes, I heed my own cries.
The taste of her will remain, killing the pain.
So much blood I swallow, on death's road I follow.
My ash blows away, yet by her side I stay.
The end is so near, but she still fights my fear.
There is still love, to the stars and above.
I lie in our bed, while she kisses my head.
Your cries for power, leave me to cower.
She said she's mine, we keep love in line.
Your so misguiding, with the time you are biding.
I just want her in my arms, but you have so many alarms.
I want to feel her kiss, thats something i will always miss.
Now I'm suffocating, while everyone is hating.
I will save her, of that I am sure.
She will save me, that is definantly.
We save eachother, away from lifes smother.
It's words of sorrow, that decline me tomorrow.
So much blood I swallow, leaves my heart hollow.
All these things I hate, leaves you so great.
Torn apart by my seams, misery kills my dreams.
Our life was in the right direction, yet sorrow still hangs on.
She starts to cry, I start to die.
You start to lie, I say goodbye.
I love her, I dont care if it is the right thing to do, but I'm sure.

When sunset bows amidst the hilltops,
My warble coos on fields;
And through the ever- glowing night
This womb of nest I keep,
Where flappers reel like tints of sky
A mix of white and cobalt -blue,
To guide oak trees from silhouettes
Against the rail of grass.
The seasons house me with warm grace,
Rich the buds growing soft
Adorning my emblazoned wings,
Etched across the cloudscape.
Yet, the flavor of autumn blows
Heralding distant flights;
Till wake of spring escorts me back
From old Capistrano.

Free verse
The Horn of Africa is where I am from.
I am just a simple woman with her children.
Lord God is our seeker and natural disaster will come.
I must conserve my last drop of water.
I see the sunrise high in the east.
In bottles, water exists.
I know that a drought is on the horizon.
My swallow of water is in my eyes.
My struggles have been many.
My strife is a way of life.
Never do I blame Lord God for this evil.
We live side by side.
Segmented are our families tribal to their forms.
We have seen droughts before and we know this is not the worst to come.
A bottle of water I take to my mouth to drink.
I treasure the quenching and feel the relief.
I look inside and see my last swallow of water that I will swill.
My tongue touches my lips and I think about the last drought my life seen.
I thank God and say – Hallelujah Amen!

Limerick
I know a very special young girlie
Who's caught me by the short curlys
Known her for years
Much joy and some tears
I'll never stop loving her surely
Promised that I'd love her forever
From the first day knew that I'd never
Betray her not a chance
It's a lifetime dance
This love's a forever endeavour
Devoted to this loving relationship
Not a chance I'd endanger it must admit
This love is like gold
So precious to behold
There's no other to whom I'd submit
She's the absolute love of my life
Happy as a damn clam to be precise
It's a loving adventure
With this lady so tender
The dictionary calls it paradise
To end this story about treasures
Something should be added to my pleasures
Her lips are so luscious
My poor heart just gushes
At times I almost swallow my dentures

A barn swallow soars above
on a summer afternoon. A bird of a kind
Soaring so high; commanding the sky
in ways that dazzle the mind
Swooping down over water to drink,
feeding on winged insects in flight
A bird of great independence.
At summer's end, it will be out of sight
Continually flying in the sky.
At summer's end, it will be out of sight.
