Under the Sunglasses

You can see the love in his eyes
She's not a possession; she's a prize
And as for her,
She happily purrs,
Drunk on Love's fine wine

Magic Sunglasses

I have sunglasses that let you see
Only the things that you want to see!
"You're mistaken," you say,
"They're just regular shades!"
And I say, "That's my point precisely!"

Like Dark Sunglasses

.

The suspicious mind,
like dark sunglasses,

    even on a sunny day,
    projects its own tint,

    paints its own distrust
    on everyone around,

    seeing you and me
    as mere dark shadows

of its own dark image
and shadowy likeness.

Premium Member The Danger of Sunglasses

I knew a young lad from the village of Trent
He wore dark sunglasses wherever he went
Ladies couldn't see his blues,
So they focused on his fuse
'Til one day his vision was entirely spent.

Premium Member Behind Sunglasses

I was at a friend's pool after school.
She loaned me this impossibly tiny bathing suit
I looked at it skeptically but I didn’t ask whose it was.
It smelled faintly of chlorine.
we were supposed to be alone
her older brother came home
his eyes settled on my skin
like a wash of immediate sunburn
It was awkward and thrilling to be watched
I pretended not to notice
behind my sunglasses
I ignored him
My friend noticed. “Perv alert, let’s go in.” she said.
I didn’t want to go but I didn’t let it show.

bright pink fingernails
a straw hat low on her brow
cool in sunglasses

at summer's hot verge
beneath a green tree calm breeze
wild waves crash nearby

I and My Sunglasses

I cannot see a thing in this world without a pair of sunglasses
because world is so bright that it blinds my eyes.

No one, I suppose, can see my eyes behind sunglasses
I can see everything through darkness of the shade of lenses I wear.

The outlines of the objects may not be sharp as they should
and they are colorless
they are still recognizable as they ought to be.

Although the people say that life is full of hope and promise
because there is a rainbow;
the world is full of romance because there are the beautiful roses,
I saw no colorful rainbow as the others say that always appears
in the sky after the rain, nor flowers of dazzling brightness
the others always admire when long-awaited spring comes around.

To me, however, nothing changes its color or reshapes its outlook;
everything looks the same as before, nothing changes its shape.

I comfort myself from time to time
compared to those sightless people who live in total darkness,
something that bothers me is always hanging over my head and
that is overly blessed people. They wear robes of arrogance and
walk on their way looking down upon others.

To put it another way, the real motive I am wearing sunglasses
may not be my eyesight but to hide my weakness from those
high-headed snobs.

Orange Tinted Sunglasses

Yes, I know, it is all an illusion
The way my sun-like eyes see:
For these glasses paint in gold
The wreckage and ruin around me.
This may be the wrong way
To live my sorry life
Finding golden glimmers even as
I hold a glinting knife,
But the world that I see
Whenever I try to see what's real:
It is broken, dreary, dead,
Much I like how I feel
Whenever I wind up lost
In my supposed paradise
But find that my dreams have
Been devoured by demon lies
And realize that however hard I try
I'll never be able to redeem
The idyllic joy that once lay in
Every single one of my dreams.
So with my counterfeit view
Of this miserable land
At least, somehow, I can see
A kingdom so sunshine grand,
And at least, as I walk towards
The cliffs from where I shall die,
My last sight is the eternal proof
Of my beautiful lie---

Old Sunglasses

I thought these sunglasses were cool and wore so well
But if you look closely, one can see they have a dark story to tell

A story of lies, deception, disrespect, and co-dependency
The artificial comfort of having them and the sick complacency

You know, I thought everything was cool
But now I see I was just the fool

Grabbing these old dusty things was a habit that had become a part of me
Each morning and every night it was me and good ole 'dusty.'

Scratched up, old, dusty, and falling off my face
Didn't even fit, and I thought I saw roses in them, Now, what a disgrace

Well, that was then and this is now
For a moment, I could just sit and ponder, how?

But I'm quickly reminded of an edifying light, which is cool
Seeing things with the first then two 'cause I'm nobody's fool

Yes! My third is my first, and it is open wide
Now with the first, I can see all that was hidden and all that the 'sunglasses' tried to hide

Sunglasses

Why do you wear shades inside?
Is there something you're trying to hide?

There is no sunlight here
Only shade, so sun damage you shouldn't fear

If the light inside is too bright, say no more
I can easily flip the switch, and that's for sure

Tell me, why do you casually strut in a room with them on when big business is at hand?
Is it that you're resolute, omniscient, and abundant? Please help me to overstand.

Even when we're outside and the clouds are gray, you have them on
I'm a little confused, or maybe not; there is no sunlight. Come on, Son!

I heard eyes were the windows to the soul
We're inside, so why keep them covered? Has yours been sold?

My, my, I guess cool is just too cool
But wait, I thought again and realized I'm nobody's fool

Where Your Sunglasses Will Need Sunglasses

"Where Your Sunglasses Need Sunglasses!"

Now what I'm about to say
is really going to sound odd,
but when it comes to receiving
"GOOD BLESSINGS" in life
I cannot help but to laud!

"Turn Your Umbrella Upside Down"
so that nothing good by you passes,
and may the light of your life
get exceedingly bright to
"Where Your Sunglasses Will Need Sunglasses!"

"Into Each Life A Little Rain Must Fall"
may be true....
BUT NOT FOR TODAY!!!
What I speak of
also comes from above
and it does light and guide your way!

This is in "HOPE" that your wishes
comes true....
and then each one surpasses,
with the brightest sunlight,
"I HOPE THIS IS YOUR PLIGHT!!!"....
"Where Your Sunglasses Will Need Sunglasses!"

Anyone.... who's in
their right mind
most surely wants the best!....
and when you've attained
as much as you can-
'WHY NOT ATTAIN ALL THE REST!!!"

This simple request,
that you have the best,
is made for all the masses
to attain and receive
such blinding "GOOD-LIGHT",
"Where Your Sunglasses Will Need Sunglasses!"

So in conclusion,
and with no delusion,
do not think this wish oddly strange!
It's time for the
"GOOD and the BEST"
in your life
to arrive and bring "BLESSED" change!

Being put this way
I pray it starts....
"TODAY"--
that such good in your life trespasses,
to where....
"YOU WILL HAVE TO SQUINT"
in this brightest of lights....
"Where Your Sunglasses Will Need Sunglasses!"

Sunglasses

If you need proof that every soul
Is at war with itself,
Look no further than your sunglasses.

That in the darkest hour of night
We pray for dawn to break
To chase the shadows away
And illuminate your spirit.

What do you do?
What have I done?
That dearest beseeched ray of day
Finally hops the fence and is found
To be too damn brilliant
Too sharp and discerning to tolerate
It stings the eyes and scorches the skin.

I wear sunglasses,
Keep my foot in both camps
For darkness threatens to smother
And light threatens to burn me
So I stay in the middle.

So you see we are all of us
Creatures afflicted by division,
Fallen spirits trying to float upwards
While still clinging to the ground,
The best gymnast of the heart
Can’t do the splits that well.

Trash your Oakley’s
Nobody can serve two masters.

Premium Member Wearing Sunglasses On a Cloudy Day

Wearing sunglasses on a cloudy day
elections are honest if they go their way
Being vegan on Thanksgiving
better change the way your living
The elevator only goes to the ground floor
with only one story do you need more
If you don't look will you see
keep justice blind but never we
A punish list of those you hate
easier than trying to win the debate
Flying a plane with no wings
being forever grounded as truth rings
Fight against impossible odds
never surrender as you are robbed
Winning the war with overwhelming evidence
setting up the next ticket for loyal prince
