G O L D E N

flower
of the solar throne
your far-away fire reigns immortal -

blossom wild beauty of chrysanthemum skies
hold me in the unfolding glory of your well-wishing petals
as Indian summer’s rays ravish and relax the chill

tender is the topaz passion
in the sunset of your satisfied season
and seductive is the ripened ember
in the harvest of your lingering light

S O L

to soul -
suffuse my surrender with pulsar persuasion
your ambient nectar
embolden me the honey of your citrine haze -
a fortune my ruby honeycomb to save and savor..

anemone ambrosia for my essence to sip
when the amber blush of November’s kindled kiss
turns ashen
on Winter’s cold grey lips

Where Crimson Bleeds Its Rose

Under a blue moon

He becomes my dream

A secret uncloaked

Emotion unveiled

A mystery revealed

Existence of warmth

between my subconscious

and implicit knowledge

..And it is there

`Neath the soft spot

of this heart

where crimson bleeds

 its velvets

upon his bare breath

It is there

where my blushed lips

loose their virginity

Where my fair cheeks

suffuse with rosy glow

It is there where

 fiery needs are fulfilled

Fervent desires scorched

Candlelit pleasures beheld

It is there

 where alluring visions embrace

my suppressed memory

and take over this barren soul

As his ardent voice calls

in an enticing whisper

and a unique accent

into my left ear

My love...

Mon petite fleur..

Mi amor...

That is a preserved time

An uncloned moment

where my unwholiness

becomes whole

That is the minute

His glancing eyes

capture my own

Only until...

Mr Sandman leaves behind

Dry proposals on wet sand

Early mist envelops the bridge

Aurora glows in new awakening

Last zephyr breeze

 fades from my cheek

Then He is gone

Forever gone

A revised repost~Not for the rose contest..but thanks for Vie's Roses contest and wonderful Rose poems
I decided to revise this post and repost, till the muse plays along.

and you fade away like zephyr breeze

On Manhattan's West Side...
You descend ancient stairs
You've crossed the Drive
River Side Drive
Expect to float on air of beauty.

Cherry blossoms pink won't wink
They'll courtesy as you walk, jog, bike
Their fragrance light and airy
Suffuse each path paved smooth
Sloped path leads to arched cemented canopy
As ancient as view
The Hudson embraces you
A garden path with bright flowers
Will warm your heart
The young, the old, those in between
They live for such scenes
Sky, trees, mound overlooking New Jersey
The Hudson River is where I met my honey.

Prayer (2001)

Who will unravel the tangled skein
These silken threads of thoughts?
Each strand possesses a special sheen
But is obscured by knots..

The day seems done before it starts
The night seems swathed in gloom..
For though facts fade, memories last
And clouds then hide the moon.

Who will unravel this tangled skein?
I turn to You dear God
A light to guide, a post to lean
You are the staff for all.

So hold my hands when they do flail
And steer my stumbling steps
And send the wind to swell my sails
And light when the Sun sets.

Steady these shaking fingers, numb
With cold; dispel the fears,
The loneliness when none will come
I know, to dry the tears.

When wanes the moon, recedes the tide
When ebbs the strength I've got
When all goes bleak, be by my side
Dear God, untie the knots.

Unravel then, this tangled skein
Untangle the threads of thoughts
When hopes are lost, teach me to dream
Bring to order the chaos.

When dark clouds hide the midday Sun
And the day in doubts' enmeshed
Rekindle snuffed aspirations
The morrow'll dawn afresh.

Suffuse me with strength so i can scale
The mounts that mark my way
So march on brave, not rant and rave
When it isn't 'my day'.

And tell me God, I needn't hide
For fear- You are with me
And won't forsake your errant child
Who now, ahead, can't see.

That you will show the correct way
Steer me clear of what is wrong
Teach me the words I ought to say
And sing with me my songs.

That you will bring the tunes i need
With music, words to sound
That you will be the flowing ink
when my pen cannot be found.

Summer Skies

Summer sizzles shading seashore skies
Singing season songs – solstice surprise --
Sweet salmon sunsets spin splendorous shades
Strawberry sunrise spawns stratus shifting serenades.

Sapphire sky’s secret soliloquys stuns
Shimmering sun sonnets swirling shadows shuns
Soaring solitude surely steals stress shells
So sunbeams spread summer’s signature spell.

Since stormy silver silhouettes suffuse squalls
Stolen solar spall splinters shower shards so small
Summer’s spirit soars, stratosphere specters scamper
Stellar scraps surround sheer space starlit sampler

Echoes

Echoes

Every morning a man is seen to climb upon a hill

His mission there to bare witness
To the suns flooding as she rises
Her painted fires airbrushed dawning through the skies
He stands alone upon the grassy barrow
Gathering every thought and fibre
Every nuance of the unknown marrow
His bodies longings for his lover

The colours of the sunrise splash his passion
Peaches suffuse azure washing blues
When the dawning orb breaks its tethered anchor
In her flaming pinks and fiery hues
Lifting his spirit from the ground
All his soul he has encompassed
To an echoes welling plume of sound
From his throat and from his heart felt
And from a smile bathed in saddened tears
It issues from his lips all his happiness and his pain
He stands alone upon the hilltop
Brought there by the echoes
Which always sound the same
With one lasting supplicant breath
And calls out to forever
Echoes every syllable of
Her name

Shouted out for a life he once new
Called to a life he never lived
Turned this echo to a sorrow
By a curious cuckoos tourniquet of fate
He turns to watch his shadow
And carry on his day
Descends again to the waiting meadow
But in the niche of every hour
And in the edge of all his smiles
Lays a sadness to vague to remember
Dormant in the corners of his eyes

Yes the day is filled with loving
In the patience of his hands
And his heart is given over
For living while he can
But in the shadows of the evening
The dusky moon upon the rise
A distant voice is calling
Sees the reflection of her eyes
When his heart is turned to ponder a quietly burning flame
Hearing how the echoes upon their returning
Are whispering
His name

While the forgetful night is passing
In reincarnates senses dreaming
His breathing then beseeches
The pillow of his prayers
And as the day comes on a dusting
Airbrushed dawn of coloured peaches
Washes the flaming azure of her eyes
All those words return upon their longing
Baring witness to the dawning skies
Brought there by the echoes
Which always sound the same
And written in his calling to the new sunrise
Echoes there forever
Every syllable of
Her name

Premium Member The Scent of Petals

The serene shade of the serenading trees,
rippling in the cadence of the spring breeze,
creates the lattice of yearning impression,
filling the space of my fathomless depression.

The bursting golden beams of the sunset blaze,
slicing through the shimmer of the foliage maze,
carry your euphoric essence to my heart,
the harsh time passing me by couldn’t thwart.

The cascading flicker of your sparkling smile,
caressed by the jasmine zephyr for a while,
flows with your fragrance through moonshine
of the ardent night to suffuse the sense of mine.

When in spring the chromatic strands of floral hue
design the panorama of my longing anew,
the buds unfurl the aroma of your redolence in spree,
I perceive you emit the scent of petals for me.

Whilst shrouded in dark dungeons of deep despair,
in monk mode, soul choosing therein to be still,
plunges deeper into the void, as a dare,
feeling, not thinking, surrendering its will,
astonished to see light flicker through the air,
even as bliss magnetism begins to trill.
As wafting scents sublime suffuse feeble form,
pristine presence is swept away in love’s storm.

Slow seduction, concealing and revealing,
joy of union and pang of separation,
a joy ride through time, delight so appealing,
game divine of polarity rotation,
reviving resplendent rapture freewheeling,
is what but God with us in conversation?
Breathe in, oh hermit, each life breath in surprise,
in childlike wonderment, beholding bliss rise.

Premium Member Say It Like It Is

We become empty and void like vast space,
aided by bliss mists that suffuse our form
and there remain no tests, we need to ace,
as we’re cradled by divine currents warm.
Mind-body a vessel, in which dwells soul,
which first descends, before upward ascent
but to fulfil thus its ordained life role,
it must first and foremost, grant love consent.
Opposites dissolve when love’s manifest
and cravings of lower mind too recede,
whereupon we breeze through life in light jest,
allowing bliss beat pulsations to lead.
Flame of innocence in our heart aglow,
breath by breath we rise, in staid stillness slow.

Breath by breath we rise, in staid stillness slow,
witnessed by presence, with a tranquil eye,
as shedding resistance we gently flow,
observing false ego wither and die.
We alone witness our transmutation,
near and dear ones remaining unaware
of our soul’s divine entwined flirtation
and though we wish to share, no one can pair.
Our stance is stillness, in silence we burn,
feeling hidden nodes within come alive
and truths transcending mind, in time we learn,
as deeper and deeper in bliss we dive.
We write on, although we cannot translate,
sublime bliss rapture that does not abate.

Sublime bliss rapture that does not abate,
reverberates within by day and night,
asking but of us to keep our heart chaste,
whilst teleporting us to zenith height.
Synced with vibrations of the universe,
delighting in each offered sensation,
essence of presence sings a joyous verse,
as our spontaneous meditation.
Illumined within, is our central vein,
being both immanent and transcendent,
at the centre of which, heart free from stain,
radiates our inner light resplendent.
With no goals to chase nor puzzles to lace,
we become empty and void like vast space.

Suffused

I am the river’s rush

Confused in mad scramble,

until your open sea’s

calm vastness welcomes me -

You suffuse me with warmth.

They choose and ooze one-sided views
Which suffuse weak minds and confuse
With truth distorted
Fair and balanced thwarted
Fox News is the ultimate ruse

Author's note: Someone at work puts this on in the gym all day. The "reporters" are paid to gab about what matters from the very rich and selfish point of view. It is a real freak show. People I know who I thought were intelligent repeat the talking points with absolute belief. Fortunately, a lot of people sense the charade.

Native Tongue

I speak native tongue
From the lees heart of
The keg and palm tree
In the kukuruku forest
To be suffuse with
The spirit of Anwu.

Dum dum gbidi gbom
Basks my body in
Drum beats of Egungun
In the black tropical grove.
Talking drum that
Speak words from my mind
With the pulse of Orishe.

I eat only dry meat
That fills the mouth.
Give me oil and salt
To consume my cocoyam,
I shall offer you kolanut
And welcome you
Within the hut of Ndiichie.

I speak native tongue,
The true voice
Of nature imitated by
Amana isôn eyen.
The Tongue of homecoming
And the bond of ancestry!

These days move quickly
second upon second
eating away the
innocence of youth!
Spring gives hope,
summer the bloom develops
a path to choose.
Autumn realism and
regret, winter stagnates
steers one’s mentality
to hazy days in limbo.
Waves of tears, a
conscious to cast out,
doubts and more doubts
before the bridge to cross.
Turbulence screams out,
many meaningless words
woven in sentiment, washed
away in rapids of unseemly
conformity, column after column
of political opinion in
constant bombardment of
promise, each and every
oppressor on their media trip,
a saturation of nebulous
speech, all without direction!
Life ne’er simple, the human race
on the wane, to dance amidst
the sunbeams that dazzle
honesty and respect.
Yet hours of artless suffuse,
never to wash the ghetto
from one’s mind, never to live
without pain, all that hatred,
all that waste, wrapped up
in one’s culture!

My Natural Beauty

MY NATURAL BEAUTY
O bizarre beauty,
O eclipse of a perfectly contrived creature.
O rustful bonny frame cladded with muck,
Made fleshy with its suppleness as lime soot.
O dark glinting hair like fleece interwoven, that soon
Would turn grey sky in Northern Arid Savannah
O Artiste physique, well endowed-
Like Benin feminine bronze sculpture;
An obsolete craft, to wane into gloomy oblivion.

O brilliant ebony skin with the wafting allure
Of ambergris to suffuse the whiff of odorous incence.
O passing beauty –
By Circadian or Accidental dissipation.
How best can I appreciate you, my beauty?
Except to behold you,
As a precious mound of carcass
Bedecked of sands and worms and air!

When I behold you as such, and still my heart is lured
With an irresistible longing to
Rouse this masculine flesh into verveful concupiscence
From this raw natural state,
This be a perfect beauty, a perpetual love.
And so will my soul drink content,
A brimming measure of this natural lee of love
And thirst no more to find beauty!
