Premium Member A Silent Teardrop - 1

Falling silent against naked cheek…

When an emotion stuns or stings
Cutting through the composure
To free the heart of liquid poison
Toxic feelings of pain and sorrow
Grief that slashes through self-control
Leaving the heart in deep discouragement
Touching thoughts with negativity
That comes from a lack of sensitivity
Lighting the way to eventual joy
That comes when one finally lets go
Of sorrow, sadness, anguish
All the feelings that bring heartache
To the one who listens to the beating
The throbbing and pounding, the breath
Of a silent tear, reflecting the soul
Who knows only angst and pain
Beliefs colored in hues of ebony
Dark thoughts, black coats of sorrow
That change dreams to nightmares
Hopes to desperateness and misery
A sting that eventually lacerates
The faith that sustains and remains
Even after the sorrow and pain
Brings a teardrop to cling to the face
Who floods the spirit with shame
From allowing the heart to hold onto
A flow of disdain, grief and woe
That is engrained in the one who knows
A silent tear is sometimes the answer
To a prayer for relief to this agony!

Of writers and lovers of insightful poetry
Gathered under the imprimatur of Poetry Soup --
Delightful, inspirational, sometimes contrary
With verses ranging from wildflowers to poop.

Something for everyone in these lofty environs
Even historical forays and pedantic endeavor
From sonnets to limericks, epigram, and puns,
Versifiers here are creative and extremely clever
Someone might even write something that stuns.

Here we meet trolls, gremlins, and a gleeful fairy
Playful nursery rhymes and some serious thought
An occasional juicy bit like a fresh ripe strawberry,
An incredible story with a convoluted poetic plot
Poetry Soup can make a most stressful day merry.

So, join us here and find pleasure in our pieces
Take up your pen and write for us a few keen lines
Find a place where your pent-up anger releases,
And all the best muse in you matures and refines
Expression is welcome where wonder never ceases.

Perfect Winter Night

This is a perfect winter night to tandem thyself with my sizzling nerves
Candle light stuns thy hips moving in wine-red skirt, penning killer curves
O’ watch our bed rose’s flame in moonlight, instating a scene of heaven
Bewitch all my hormones with your fervent lips, sipping glimpses of Champaign

Not the dressing but only the undressing would unveil the unanimous pleasure
Writing a simile is impossible to explicate the true sense of rubbing thou bare
Gripping my hands to thy hips, pinning thy legs, should it get thee so helpless?
Slow like a tide while I move in thee, thou woo me with thy yearning murmurs

Wine in your eyes sets the blaze in my rise, what else on earth is wise than this libido
Dun no why, while I race my insane moves unto thy pulses, thou ever gave a “Go”!
Cruising my fingers down across thy necklace, should it get thee so restless?
Like a roll of wheels, I keep banging with no pauses hoping something clueless

Is this a mission of flooding bliss unto the myriad nerves, in an act of gleeful fission?
I fall on thou with a feel of ousting a “Niagara”; thou hugged me with none between
O’ what a wonder, I am alive though, after halting my heart & glancing the heaven
Beheld I am mesmerized between your pleasing eyes sinking in the ocean of ******

Do It Your Way

If I'm not normal should I conform
and seek to perform as all do
or should I reach to perfect my form
and be how I was born true

There's safety in numbers
but this one wonders
if one mind wanders
walks afar in sunder
while others slumber
standing to ponder
previous blunders
could the one that wanders
understand wonders
give back to numbers
who will then wander
beyond to yonder
as those once stunners
become common runners

out of the box thinking stuns some numb,
it's a heavy weight knockout they come undone
for others to have thoughts you wrestle is fun
a combination they shuffle like a champion

commoners thoughts pace up and down
the same sites with the same sounds
facing lows and heights on the same grounds
hoping to sight delights unfound

but it's not how I do as I venture out on random paths
the way untraveled collect clues bits quarters make halves
with half an idea plough through though told it's daft
until I announce I've something new which stops laughs

so should I conform against my nature
work to reform and advance my stature
live untrue to me as though an actor
allow only unnatural attributes to factor

why misplace and waste so it's untraced
and put in its place the common taste
when I could embrace what can't be replaced
and chase it and ace with my victory face

Premium Member Summer Skies

Summer Skies

Summer sizzles shading seashore skies
Singing season songs – solstice surprise --
Sweet salmon sunsets spin splendorous shades
Strawberry sunrise spawns stratus shifting serenades.

Sapphire sky’s secret soliloquys stuns
Shimmering sun sonnets swirling shadows shuns
Soaring solitude surely steals stress shells
So sunbeams spread summer’s signature spell.

Since stormy silver silhouettes suffuse squalls
Stolen solar spall splinters shower shards so small
Summer’s spirit soars, stratosphere specters scamper
Stellar scraps surround sheer space starlit sampler

Premium Member The Unsupervised Stop Sign

Blazing sun stuns my eyes, sunglasses offer no respite.
Clammy hands tremble, as the steering wheel begins vibrating.
Arsenic heat suffocates, wrapping its hands around my neck.
Parched lips beg to hydrate,
but 'Jeptha Creed' increases the intensity.
Thunder rumbles through my body,
as lightning strikes in 'desert storm' flashbacks -
all I see is red flags, red lights and red rage.

Feet seem cemented trying to find the break,
then stumble trying to regain control.
Dazed thoughts slowly crumble, searching for green to go.

Metal medley of machine guns, bloodshot,
go bang, bang, bang, as all around begins to fall down.
Grenades and strident screams reverberate like bombastic echoes,
over and over again, boom, boom, boom,
like a broken record with deep inherited scratches,
resembling resurfacing scars, left behind from mangled wounds.

Head is spinning like a bike wheel, spasms are speeding, unable to halt.

I scream at graphic memories of fallen comrades,
cursing, why I was the last man standing.

Premium Member Happily discontent, that I am, that I be

Happily discontent, that I am, that I be

now future
happy discontent
achievable out of reach
joie de vivre bags of regrets
what I am now what I could be
love the journey are we there yet?
live in the present dream of becoming
I'm truly self made I'm reactionary, dependent
let it be, let it be, now endless mindful reflection
I’m restless, but at peace unable to sleep, daydream
I’m thankful for many things when will this nightmare end?
nothing is perfect, fully satisfies quest for perfection ruins the journey
life is an ever evolving process hit or miss, sink or swim, stuns growth
a chest full of good things in life a pile of things underachieved, undone
thankful for what I’ve got so far I want more, but I'm burdened by failures
acceptance without complacency resentful, jealous of what others have
accept that creativity makes mistakes counting failures, clutters & confounds

Premium Member Trophy of Words

Momentous meteor shower of words
Plethora of metered color absurd
Rainbows falling to the ground
With syllable shakes and bobo refrains
Lamentable lemon sunsets of pain

Our God stuns with just one sound

Err not, for he certainly beautifies
Wing’d articulation of butterflies
Enchanting chanting with wings
Whilst poet’s tongue sticks to roof of mouth
Or bathes in blather of love toward spouse

God’s glory the angels King

Our word counts we treasure and lock up tight
Iambic or free we type up all night
Impactful the sun and moon
God’s trophy ascribed sans paper and ink
Multitude of stars show’d off on the brink

In sacred immaculate swoon

He's In My Blood

I want to reach out to touch him
Feel his skin on my skin
Burning me,loving me
In the aftermath of the tide
That washes over me
I need to hold him so close
That we are one person
Eyes wide open
Tasting tender lips
Breath upon breath

I smell his cologne on my skin
Feel my fingertips on his thigh
His words sweeten the air
As he murmurs delicious
Heat into my ear
He caresses my soul
Palpitates my heart
Like a tiny frail bird
In his hands
His touch is a feather

He is the missing piece indeed
That completes the puzzle of me
He reads my mind as he stuns
With his fiery touch
I welcome his heat and match it
With my own unfettered passion
Long after we have spent our love
I lie in his embrace and know
His blood's in my blood
Coursing through me

Premium Member Tis the Season of Football

All has come to an end, except for who to proclaim
The winner of The National College Football Championship Game

Excitement is brewing for the play-off game
Some will be at the game watching getting rained on, cold, and excited

The armchair quarterbacks stay at home and watch on their big screen TV being- telecasted
Scheduling and planning their parties to cheer on their favorite team and fellowships
Shopping for chips and dips
Hot wings and BBQ smokies
Soda pop, tea, beer, and whiskeys

They dress themselves and their children in lucky sports team attire

Kick off time has come, everyone is bouncing off the walls inspired
Armchair quarterback is playing in his own little field
He kicks and runs
Catches, tackles, and stuns
“That’s not the way they teach you to tackle!”
With all his excitement he almost slides off the armchair
“Oh, come on! Hey ref that’s not fair!”
“That’s pass interference he was all over him while the ball was in the air!”
He hollers and cheers
“Touchdown!” That’s the way!
Rants and raves
“Quit doing that, you idiot, you're going to get a fifteen yard penalty!”
His blood pressure is going up we all agree
“What the Hell was that you nitwit!”
“He dropped it.! You could have had it!”
Disappointment sets in, his team has lost
He blames the refs for all the bad calls, and its cost

Cleaning the carpet because of all the excitement, it’s going to cost
The season is over and I don't have to hear his rants until next year and
Our children will be the next generation of armchair quarterbacks

Oral Sex, Much?

Separate Fate scratching Chance so that it may be secure.

Offerings Pile up, Circumstances of Dismantled monotony and softly licking dance.

Undiminished cheekbones flushed with Hope,

Slide up and Down,

Autoerotic, Hanging me, with vivid--tight nerves, Chaining throat to soul.

As an oddly subtle sound escapes my Lips…

One of those Godly Utterances that a conscious tongue Ignores.

Like An Awakened Coma, screamed, in Paralyzing yearn.

The air is Quiet, lonesome fingers tangled in heat.

An Eye Tilted, A Pierce of Angels, Coiled green and Thick.

Warm hands harvesting Ankles bruised by cold rain only hours before,

It is the Gentlest of comforts and For some reason, Struck hard and deep

 into my mind.

“Forever is Easy”
                                     I Say.

As softly, Fevered and Wanton,

He is stuns the Dust of this House into Noise

Premium Member A Diamond In the Rough

A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

The silky pearly-white soft skin, beneath her comb's dark beams
and her intriguing olive eyes' attentive, thoughtful gaze,
behind the night's befalling veil, with elegance supreme,
like mystic crypts enchant the men and cause infernal blaze.

Involuntarily transmits her messages across
a forest nymph expands her spell beneath the moonlight's phase,
beguiles the thoughts; romantic dream her cherry lips of gloss
the nightly creatures stuns and laws of reason disobeys.

Untamed, a diamond in the rough, the nymph in darkness shines
without a partner to escort her dance beneath the sky,
denies to coexist with men, proposals she declines,
and so belongs to breezy streams, that lift her image high.

Mirror On the Wall

Mirror, mirror, mirror on the wall
Do you like what you see when
You look at my inquisitive face?
Sometimes I like what I see though
Sometimes it’s a scared face
Worried about my worst fears.

Mirror, mirror, mirror on the wall
I hope you like my clear beautiful eyes
And clear stern face full of life
Because I love your clear picture that
Says it all to me whenever I look at you
Everything that I read that I am looks at me
And in that moment it’s true that
I am what I read because I see an intelligent face
I am what I eat because I see healthy eyes
Sparkling through to my soul
I see the picture so clearly it stuns me.

Mirror, mirror, mirror on the wall
You and I are closer than friends
Closer than sisters or brothers
We are indeed closer than lovers
As a man and his wife are meant to be together, forever
I could not begin the day without your
Careful attention and help.
I could not put one foot in front of the other
Without your clear decision to let me go
Because you are more than a reflection for me
You are a careful friend for me to lean on
Who never lies to my eyes because
My eyes stare through you and see
The truth of who I am.

Mirror, mirror, mirror on the wall
If I could sing you a song its this one I sing
If I could love you more than this I would.
Crashing glass almost looks beautiful
Because it reminds me of you
If I could look at you and see all the thoughts of men
All I would ever need would be you
If only I could because you are so perfect.

Mirror, mirror, mirror on the wall
Do you hear my heart pumping
 So softly in my body?
Do you feel the excitement am going
Through as I look at you right now?
Do you feel my self esteem as it goes up and down
Wondering if I am perfect?
Do you? Mirror, mirror, mirror on the wall?
Could you for one moment forget you are
An object and talk to me?

Mirror, mirror, mirror on the wall
You who never dies, could live then to see
My great great great great greater grand children
And even see more days than I have seen
Could you have wished to be me for one day?
If you did, I would feel more perfect
Seeing through you,
I see life in its perfection
And truth un altered
Undestroyed or tampered with.

The Rememberer

She sits and glances out the window gray
The glass just mocks and fogs her weary eyes.
The dancing candle fails to light her way
As darkness causes heavy, weary sighs.

But memory just shades her vision more.
A cloak of lies, like ice, then stuns her heart.
Her weak and weary feet won't leave the floor,
The window tears her wilting soul apart.

The sun once lit her flowing, golden hair,
And moon once filled her eyes with silver light,
But past has killed the gold that once was there
And now, her eyes are darker than the night.

The days, we say, have worn away her life.
But she doth know that t'was her foolish strife.

Falling In Love

Falling in love; and in such a freezing winter?

That fire ignites anytime! Just with a splinter!

Love never withers; it blooms in all seasons!

It brings us spring when our lives it brightens!

The warm flames of love don't scorch anyone!

They only melt two hearts to make it just one!

Love is so blind; it doesn't see any reasons!

The naive and the sage, both alike it stuns!

Cupid's arrow strikes even the wisest wise!

It pierces the heart, but enters thru the eyes!

Sage and philosopher, scholar and the saint!

Struggle to define love, in words quite quaint!

Poets and the writer can only tell how it feels!

When just in a glance, you fall head over heals!

Your soulmate carries your name in invisible ink!

Love strikes at the first sight, before you blink!

------------------

The best place for a poem to live is in the heartbeats of those who love it!

Blessed are the poets whose verses are read, not on papers they just sit!
