Best Students Poems
College students today are a professor's worst nightmare
They come to class late, with ripped jeans and purple hair
Without a word of apology for interrupting what's going on
They proceed to bury their heads in their infernal smartphones
Texting and tweeting and checking out Facebook
They don't give a soul in the room so much as a look
While if asked to participate in an activity or discussion
They grumble under their breath and commence a-cussin'
As far as breaks go, if they're given fifteen minutes
The classroom's still empty after thirty; no one'll be in it
They regard homework assignments as affronts to their dignity
A test or an exam --- Why, that's a cancerous malignity
These arrogant airheads of asininity
Shout down those not of their affinity
But come the end of every semester
They all expect "A's" for their sanguininity

As we did the month preceding
This the next department meeting
Time and time without a reason
To be present or to listen
For there’s nothing on the floor
Beneath us different than before
It was the last time that we met
As everybody knows and yet
Again we sit around the table
Top our seats but still unable
To understand why we should read
Another memo from the Dean
Of students who have never met ‘em
Or her or maybe better, them
For whom the Chair is working under
Standing in the room, we wonder
How’d it ever get to this
Friday morning’s foolishness
Of faculty who should know better
Than to debate what doesn’t matter
That they’ll only misconstrue
The points they’re missing when they do
Interrupt each other speaking
Words better spent in classrooms teaching
Nurturing minds with hope anew,
Every lesson a guiding light,
Words of wisdom, hearts to pursue.
Yesterday’s challenges fade away,
Eager dreams in the classroom bloom,
Aspiring students lead the way,
Resolute, we step into 2026’s room.
Every sound is screeching
Every voice is wailing,
Larger than life.
No stillness
Never.
Every eye is on me
When I have to go up there
Alone
The whole class is waiting
For me to
Finish
They say they need it to pass the test
Or they want to have a good time
But their laughs make our struggle harder
The kids who don’t take Adderall for fun.
YOU ARE THE PILOT (for boarding school students)
You need not wear a veil of pain
If you are perfect and prompt
For your prep all time.
You need not begin your day
With ordeal and agony
If you’re uniform is identical
With poignantly tucked in shirts
You need not begin your day
With punishment and pretence
If you speak the language
Of the British.
You need not begin your day in
Pity and peril
If chew and swallow the veggies
Served on your plate.
You need not begin your day
With protest and pressure
If you complete your homework on time.
You need not begin your day
With piques and problems
If you write your exams fine.
Your struggle today is the
Spring board for your better tomorrow.
Adversity does not tear down you
It make you desire for the
Seed of greatness,
So hitch your wagon to a star.

Relation Between Teacher And Student Is Like,
The Relation Between Potter And His Pot,
Like Them Teachers Also,
To Their Student, Loves A Lot.
Potter Jump On The Clay For Benefit
Of It,
Teachers Also Beat Their Student,
For Their Creativity To Lit.
Then Potter, To Clay, Give A Shape,
Teachers Also Give Their Students
Life Shape But It Required,
Good Co-Ordination Between Them Not The Measuring Tape.
Then The Pots And Students,
Are Ready To Go In Market For Sale,
But If They Forget Their Teachers,
By Me, In Their Life, They Fail……….

Let me give you some advice
Take it, leave it but be nice
If you take it, you will pass
If you leave it, you may pass
Attend classes at your college
This will help increase your knowledge
Try to be on friendly terms
With your teachers all the terms
Show them how you play your part
Make them say you are smart
Prepare your work in advance
Or spend your lecture in a trance
Do your homework every week
And in the lecture be so meek
Ask your teachers all the time
Asking them is not a crime
When you ask them, be so kind
This will never make them mind
If you give a wrong answer
Don't think you've caused cancer
Learning means you make a mistake
It's not a matter of make or break
When you learn it, put a side
And you have made a giant stride
If you listen well to me
Happy, happy you will be.
Students at Work
See them work!
Studious looks,
Buried in books,
Leaflets flipping,
Binders snapping,
Pencils tapping,
Textbooks slamming,
Nick-knacks toppling,
Back-packs rummaging,
Noses rubbing,
Nail nibbling,
knees flapping,
Foreheads scrunching,
Eyebrows rising,
Lips compressing,
Faces scowling,
Chins supported,
Tongues catapulting,
Coughs echoes,
Work Accomplished!
They call it the Sunday Scaries
They call it the Bubble Visualisation Exercise
I felt the polished wood of my table
The softness of my son's hair
My pencil snapped when I started my Gratitude Journal
Turn to the person next to you and tell them about a teacher
As loud as God unzipping his fly
Sat in the back not being able to find the steering wheel
They laughed
They were charmed
The shapes of stories
The shapes of restfulness and well-being
My son is playing piano as I write this
I'm going to stop writing
If this isn't nice, I don't know what is
Stair to stair.
Door to door.
Quietly walk to another floor.
On another floor, thus beware.
For the students need, and the students care.
Every floor you might find the same.
Quietly walk, so your not the blame.
Noise in the air, it's not really fair.
To the students who need a place to read.
It's not really fair, thus beware.
For the students need, and the students care.
Walk down the hall, walk up the stairs.
The students care, when you walk the stairs.
The students care if you're quiet or not.
Quiet or not, thus beware.
For the students need, and the students care.
Another turn, another door.
Walk until you find your floor.
When you find your floor, walk through the door.
Then stop and stare, thus beware.
For the students need, and the students care..

Our convergent joint
The rallying point
Mecca to the Pastors and Sisters
Jerusalem to the “Alhajas and Alfas”
Refuge to the weak
Shield to the strong
Nowhere on campus like our building
Life made more lively
Added life to the lifeless
Ever enliven to light up a dead soul
Restore spirit to the soulless body
Nowhere on campus like our
World Trade Centre
Goods and services are synchronized
Prizes are greatly subsidized
To augment sense of belonging to our belongings
No wonder, young and old ones throng in and out
For more copies of pieces of paper
Scrupulously they stay glued to
Modern screen for good job
Ours is the biggest edifice in Nigeria
Ours is the best in Africa
Ours is amongst the best in the world
Swimming pool completes the unparallel
Beautiful scenery that I behold every
Midnight that I lay my head on the
Cushion to cushion the tedious effect
Incurred in my sojourn on campus
Twenty four hours was for
Wisdom chicken and chips
A delicacy prepares with wisdom
Which often times leaves Couples off wisdom
As they whisper pouring out farrago of lies
Unto each others hearing
In a latter day hobo’s manner
Like a Romeo in the world of a Juliet
Savoring the dishes
Drinking all drinkable and all gulp-able
Browsing and dancing to the
Rhythm of Yahoo and “Aluta” gyration
Ours was unarguably the best
Our building clad a chamber
Where the Honourables meet
Where ideas and views are chewed
Where political and cerebral jaw jaw are cross fertilized
Where rhetoric and oratory seed are swallowed
Where we read and blessed with “8 points”
Where we digest skills to become splendid
Managers of human and material resources
Our library is incomparable in quantity and quality of materials
All these before they came
They came, they vandalized
They came, they destroyed
They came, they extorted
They came, they collected and replaced for man
Receipt of hopelessness and anguish
They came . . . killed the spirit
They came . . . gauged the soul
They came . . . stole the body
But . . .
Like the Son of Man
The spirit will rise again
Like an “Ayekoto” bird
The gauged soul will escape and fly away
Like the Biblical Zion
The stolen body will be returned
And restored for better glory.

The students couldn't wait
until the fat lady sung,
so some heaved rocks
while others slung dung..
Bonded by the beat from
an umbilical drum,
protesting in the streets
as one, Hashina's authoritarian regime
was overcome.
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
-Benjamin Franklin
When a teacher is teaching , some smart students
Always love so much their teacher because
They want to be knowledgeable in their lives.
You can ask yourselves some questions
About the concern of Christ Jesus on Peter...
Why was He much connected to him?
Why Peter recognised Him and
He told him to keep it secretly?
Why did Jesus leave the keys
To open the heavens to Peter?
Why Peter was the first disciple who recognised
The arrival of the Holy Spirit and reminded people
about the promise of Christ Jesus?
In the class of hundred students
There always be two or three students
Who want to be like their teacher.
By surprise, Peter succeeded to walk
on the waters
while he was still student
In the college of Christ Jesus.
When the apostles started to teach people ,
Peter astonished some people
When he hold the hand
of a cripple beggar
By the door
of the temple and
said to him,
" in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth walk"
The cripple from birth walked ,
started to jump...
jumping.
Some demons- possessed people and
different sick people were healed
by God through the shadow of Peter.
In Samaria none had the Holy Spirit but
They had been baptized
in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
When Peter and John went there,
Then placed their hands upon them and
They received the Holy Spirit.
A teacher is always happy when some students
focus on his teachings.
Imagine how happy Christ Jesus was
When he was surrounded
by his disciples?
Imagine how happy the apostles were
When they started
doing some things
Which their Teacher did?
Every good biblical teacher
" or preacher"
always be happy to hear some testimonies
of some transformed people here and there.

We, the Students
The classroom may seem to you,
As a place very serious,
But there are monkeys,
The ones most mischievous.
We, the students, are there in disguise,
We may appear very serene and wise,
But to this coin, there is another side,
Which all neglect; try to avoid.
Angels in white dress,
Above the head a golden ring,
From inside, with horns and tails,
We're a devil- like thing.
Heads are stable, faces with smile,
Legs are busy kicking all the while.
Behind the book, the head one hides,
And is busy talking with the one besides.
The teacher turns to the board to write,
The students start their chalk fight,
When, about the scientific progress is told,
Various paper planes, in our hand, we hold.
When is taught the history of mankind,
The delicious food is dreamed of by our mind,
Busy is the pencil and the pen,
Renovating faces of great men.
When, the knowledge, the teacher feed,
Jokes, beneath our desk, we read,
Very skillfully all this is done,
Nothing is noticed by anyone!
He is Conrad but not Hilton.
She is Cher but not that Cher.
He is Leif but not Erikson.
She is Tina but not that Tina
He is Chevy but not Chase.
Come meet my new kindergarten students.
