EVE OF STORMS

As I look towards the horizon,
Without hesitation,
But with determined yet
Heartfelt trepidation,
And see a distant angry
Storm forging forth
Its spluttering vicious curvaceous
Fearful advance holds my gaze
With historical ageless
Heartfelt emotions,
That sink and dive,
And furl and curl,
Knowing no one may survive!
Poseidon and Neptune take...

Poetics Poem, Red River Gorge, KY

I traipse the course of a forking, rambling stream
Barefoot from the rounded top of one small boulder
To another, the slashing strikes of cold water
Startling my every careful leap, place to place,
Landing with deep, short gasps, yet wordless
In an utter joy...

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

The Ballad of the Jacaranda
Walked six years, that way,
And watched this new suburb’s trend.
Near Mysore Highway,
Close to Bengaluru’s end.
Three storeys tall, stood,
This awesome tree-spread, so pretty.
Blue blossoms, good wood,
Half acre’s canopy.
‘Neath with sun-warmings,
Faded blue a carpet rose.
Of fallen, dried awnings,
Nature’s cycle, as it goes.
Hanging Traffic Lights,
Often, brushed by its...

The Circumcision
Our Sid felt well-jaded
his sweat, it cascaded
he feared the end was well-nigh
his head was a-pounding
a hush ultra-sounding
he all but stared death in the eye

Steadily declining
whinging and whining
to the good wife, who had a short thread
she saw...

Unquotable quotes: The Janitor, Gardienne, Landlady, Housekeeper, Portero, Sereno and the Hausgast –XXXii Part Two

The duties of the Housekeeper in the U.K. par rapport au Portero in Spain or the Gardienne in France is that the former is a sort of “official” who supervises the...

Dreaming With Eyes Open
I come from a place where its all about your pace
Where hopes and dreams, Are written on your face
Sink or Swim, How?, If in a fire hydrant we played
Streams leading to sewage drains, Childhood dreams washed away,
Tabs on a corner store credit, Verses...

The Giant Hat
Wacko Jack from Ballarat
Built the most enormous hat,
Made of canvas with a great big brim,
Three storeys tall with a velvet trim.

Some dogs howled, while babies cried
When they saw Jack's hat he wore with pride,
Old ladies gulped while others grinned,
Until one day a howling wind
Saw Jack...

Child Within
Let it out, screaming inside my head
Holding back the flood gates
Locked in underground cell to supress
The tears that dwell deep within

A place where colours don’t exist
Starkness, isolation and sadness
Why visit such a space of gloom
When I can build storeys above

A tower of strength, sturdy...

Lies Are Wise
Uncomfortable confronting
your continuous consumption to which you're accustomed,
the crunch, the chew, it's all you do,
most munch at lunch while you the whole day through,
can't get a grip like a hug holding you
but when you sip it's a diet brew
no...

Premium Member Passing Clouds
Rain hurls wetness
Public places watered;
Soaking exposure

~~~~~~~~~
Dark passing clouds
Loiter and linger;
Tears from heaven
~~~~~~~~~

Rainy debris
Dry leaves soaked;
Earthy tea brew

~~~~~~~~~
Takeaway meal
Local gourmet touch;
Sensorial pleasures
~~~~~~~~~

Two crows sit
Rain drenched;
Tree branch spies

~~~~~~~~~
Cherry tomatoes
Crunchy sensations;
Power de-tox
Bus ride trip
Nowhere to go;
Surprise awaits
~~~~~~~~~

Old movies
Greyscale tones;
Funny talkies

~~~~~~~~~
TV serials
High definition colours;
Crystal brilliance
Window view
Twenty storeys high;
Rainy day...
			LVIII
IF ever I had a fantasy country
And if ever I were left to choose a country existing in reality
I'd certainly opt for a country not run by one who studied philosophy
For the simple reason you can...
GARDEN LOVE
Landscaped and designed lovingly by yours truly,
Had no option, as lightening hit my favourite tree,
One that my Dad planted, destined to fall
Cracked down the middle, five storeys tall,
Had been attacked overnight, died a death unduly.
Asked the tree fellers to leave stump one storey high,
Would...
Premium Member May Moments
Dawn hurls feisty
Shadows fly fast;
Light grooms sight
Heavy eyelids
Sleepy, jerky knees;
Awkward notions
Rise and shine now
Greet dear sunny;
Sure miracle
Overnight rain
Wet walkway paths;
Tai-Chi dancers
Movement trancelike
Set of slow steps;
Martial ballet
Surge of feeling
In tight moving;
Poignant dancing
Serious business
This martial sway;
Calming figures
Simple fanfare
Stray passers-by;
Curious onlookers stare
Sea view from above
Twenty storeys high;
Skyline...
Premium Member MURDER MOST FOUL
There was a certain dread in the air
Like something ominous was ahead,
The building started to tremble,
It seemed impossible, a mental
Numbness gripped the people,
A disbelief, so morbid,
As a plane crashed through the upper floors,
Terrifying, just imagine,
It was as if the grim reaper had...
