The human brain's space
Contains storage room for more
Than three million years

The brain has branches
That looks like trees alive that
Feed on chemicals

Fear produces bad
Toxic chemical that makes
Black branches in brain

Love cast out the bad
Produces good chemicals
That makes the brain well

(A book called "Who Stitched Off...

Going Up
Going Up?...

Basement storage room

Body parts
hard
plastic
scarred

spare pieces
scattered
tainted
used

dark places
underground
musty
cold

replaceable pieces
aged
storable
undisposed

Floor #1

Complete bodies
fresh
hard
plastic

Perfect image
faceless
smooth
admired

Absorbing life
faceless
content
unscathed

Desired bodies
timeless
sensual
purposeful

Scattered body parts
an arm
for jewelry perhaps
the head
displays a scarf
a leg or two
wearing pants or shoes

Life...
what part of me
do you need today?
a hand to reach out
my legs running about
my mind
my heart
what part?

Come...

Premium Member Erased Memories
That greatest thief of all of time
Is erasing my memories.
He comes in unexpectedly
With no thank you or a please.
I labeled them very carefully,
And filed them away in my mind.
I knew they would be there when needed.
They would be so easy to find.
Page after page of...

The Last Prophecy of He Who Sees Dreams
The years fall so softly like the leaves,
And those we knew dwindle in the night,
While our soul now heals and seldom grieves
About what we recall and try to write.

In my storage room one day I found
An old cardboard box that I’d forgot,
With a worn rawhide...

Premium Member I Am Going Home
I’m looking for my home
That’s where I wanna be
It’s not a place that I own
Nor that I can even see

Home is where I’ve never been
But I know that it’s there
Something tells me from within
It’s not a place around here

In any house that I may live
It’s...

The Gift
I found a rusted trunk
Accidently, in a corner of
My storage room
Eagerly I opened it
That was filled with my textbooks
Almost of the elementary school
Most of its were white ants eaten
Except the top of a peacock feather
A gift given...

The Fall My Zipper Broke
The fall of sixty-three, an incongruity!
I saw myself on a Queen's float, a title rare -
"Miss Sorghum" of our Hancock County fair.
I aced the talent part - piano was my art;
but needed practice wobbling in a brand-new pair
of pointy, spiky heels I'd bought to wear.

Fate...

Sit There Looking Pretty
Sunglasses hide the truth behind your eyes
Sombrero tilted on tomorrows styled doll
Lip stick red rouge alarms the curious
Customers curse your beauty as they pass
From every angle shoppers lurk in isles
California earthquakes shake the store apart
People run in fear as you stay frozen there

The Long Lost Souls of the Dead
The others are left to roam on their own…
Everlasting sorrow spills out from the carcasses…
Love has already spoiled…hate is the main event in the picture…

The others are left to rot…they took their leave long ago
Hell has opened...

Love Is Blind
In a bookshop I stood
Surching for a specific book
I stumbled over a pile of books
But once I got my balance back
I went to the counter to ask for an assistant

Upon the counter I saw a pile of old Braille books.
To my excitement I blew the...

Ladders Move Me To Laughter
The fall of sixty-three, I envisioned myself
"Miss Sorghum" of our Hancock County Fair.

I aced the talent phase on piano
but needed practice crossing a makeshift stage in heels.
Destiny roared, that fatal afternoon,
my clever escort list'ning for the judge's voice,
grabbed my hand for our debut.

I stumbled...
