Premium Member Always From the Heart

"Here is my secret. It is very simple: one sees clearly only with the heart.
Anything essential is invisible to the eyes."

"Le Petite Prince"
Antoine De St. Exupery

touch me and
i'll touch you
we don't do this on a whim
measure twice cut once
but always from the heart

some use words rarely used in conversation
let these wonderful poets tickle that market's fancy

there are those
knit you a scarf from yarns of clouds
warm your day with a smile reflects
the clean heat of a nineteen nineteen sun

others who write you a poem you can share with a child
visions painted in words

cups of hot chocolate with those teeny weeny marshmallows
children's grandiose proclamations of love with every sip
for them the ambrosia of Gods confirmed by their laughter of joy
you see hopscotch squares loosely drawn in chalk
you see your daughter hear an echo for the first time
some poetry does that conjures a thousand pictures of pure innocence

also poetry that sings
with rhymes that are natural,
neatly placed in the story being told

or

sometimes the kind
occasionally trips on the page
love doesn't demand conditions

sonnets neatly metered
roll off the tongue

or

even if it twists a bit leaves you with a knot
stick it out and laugh it straight easy as that

we're here for each other
people before words
let's love each other just because we can

touch me and
i'll touch you
we don't do this on a whim
measure twice cut once
but always from the heart

Alone and Weak

When I feel alone and weak
I read your word and seek
While your so eager to teach
No further than just a reach
Always by our side
Leading the way down the path
Serving as a comforter and guide
Claiming and protecting us from the wrath
Lord you are the only way
Any saying other have gone astray
I feel your presence get stronger and stronger
As I pray it will not be much longer
When you will wipe away these tears
Turning them to joy and cheers
I see many signs taking place
As you teach to hold on and endure the race
Those who you can call your friend
Will stick it out till the end
I saw by your faith all I need
As you came and planted seeds
While protecting them from the weeds
I hear you calling
And I let you in to change my desires
No longer chasing the worlds delights
But trying to reflect you to shine bright
As you gave the world sight

A Higher Power

A Higher Power

Things go wrong in our life
And we know that they will
We find our self-struggling
Climbing steep hills
When we find our-self low
Reaching for the sky
Afraid to smile
Because we have to sigh

The cares of the world
Pressing us down
The mountain gets
Higher round by round
Life amazes us with all
Its twists and its turns
There’s a higher power
We seems to learn

We try so hard in life
To just stick it out
The burden gets heavy
And we often doubt
Sometimes we often wonder
What is and what ain’t
Not knowing that our victory
Is closer than we think
Faith and failure
Walks hand in hand
The little things in life
We find hard to understand

Trouble seems to find you
No matter where you go
And you find your-self sinking
Much deeper than before
You count the time of rescue
Every second in the hour
And now the day
Seems brighter, Thanks
To a Higher Power
There’s a lesson we must learn
When things turn inside out
Trust in the higher power,
And just stick it out!

What Would You Do

If my life was on the line, what would you do?
Would you ride for me, be willing to get blood on you?
Would you give me a hug, if I gave all of my love to you
If the world was against us, what would you do?

Drama, pain, heartbreak, that's just the world I've been born in
Gained scars, wounds and torn limbs
Going through losses, helped me to form wins
I killed my suicidal thoughts, and my mind was born again

I came undone with my pride
It showed me the wrong way, took me down the wrong path
Trying to train my thoughts, but it was a long track
Got here alone i Never had someone by my side

I don't trust many, I find it so hard to open up
Would you be willing to try and fix someone so broken up?
If I let you in, would you promise to stick it out with me?
Would you have my back, even when the world is doubting me?

Would you look past my scars?, Could you see beneath my flaws
Would you accept if I lost the race, regardless of how long I was leading for?
Would you have a weapon ready, to help me take on depression
Would you read every rhyme I write on a page with acceptance?

Do you see the good in me, even though I'm hard work?
Trying to paint pictures with poetry, and make it artwork
Could you understand that sometimes I'm happy but still create a dark verse?
Would you be the bandage if this world makes my scars worse?

What would you do if I said I loved you?
Would you push me away, or ask me to hug you?
Am I worthy of the chance? Do you think I could be right for you?
If I told you all of this, what would you do?

What We Have Lost

We don't even know what we have lost...

when community meant everyone
living in harmony...

when patriotic meant
you would die for your country...

when loyalty meant
you'd stick it out till the end...

when marriage meant
you'd stay until the end...

when faith meant
you opened your heart to God...

when dying meant
you'd pray for the soul...

when loving meant
you become more by becoming less....

Premium Member 13 Years

It’s been 13 years since the day we met,
13 years since the fire was set.
13 years of love and pain,
13 years which only to gain.

There’s been beauty and sharing, growing and romance,
We’ve had babies and homes, embraced in life’s dance.

And through it all, the up’s and downs,
we stick it out, we hang around.
13 years of never knowing,
where our lives are ever going.

The love just grows each day we live,
13 years of love to give.
But now I know what I couldn’t then,
my heart can keep giving there is no end.

So as far as I can see in my life,
I want to have you by my side.
Forever sounds good to me,
13 is just a start you see.
So lets take it all the way I say,
I’ll be in heaven, lighting your way.

Coward

People want to commit suicide,
people choose to die over livin life.
Why has it come to be this way?
Why has this life become so meaningless,
that we just want to throw it away?
We become selfish and think our life is so bad,
dont think of others who's lives are worse, But still greatful for what they have.
People take for granted the things they've got,
clothes, food, smokes and shoes, even a roof or a bed,
They dont think of the homeless,
the hungry, not even the cold or the hot.
They just think they want to be dead,
Things happen in our lives that, to us, seem bad.
We dont look for help or trust any "friends"
All because of the past we've had.
Dont be a coward and run away,
Stick it out, Live life,
I know that there's alot of strife,
But stick it through day to day.
People want to commit suicide,
people choose to die over livin life.
Why has it come to be this way?....

A Cricket Maddening

twasn’t an absence of belief in
hexes or voodoo ****, black magic,
witches or warlocks,
which brought to mind the maddening
of the crickets, for
900 species of those sinister gryllidae
couldn’t be wrong &
they came anyway---
chirping their nocturnal nonsense &
forcing the writer to rack her brain,
as all she wanted was to keep the
mental
pedal
to the
metal &
yet, nature allows no rest for the
proverbial wicked---
with said writer being the type
who would stick it out to the last
moment of supposed sanity,
she finally snapped!

not being able to get a word down
because of those damn crickets,
not being able to get a sentence down
because of those goddamned crickets,
not being able to get a paragraph down
(with a deadline at hand) in the middle
of the goddamned morning,
amidst the noise pollution just outside
her window,
all because of those
god****ingdamned crickets!!!

so swiftly,
like the wing’s flap of the most
eloquent great bird which comes to
mind,
she jumped from her seat & went to the
gun cabinet---
there, she kept a bb gun, a fashionable
revolver that once having the CO2 capsule
popped in, looked menacing enough
(she felt) to fend off an intruder,
whilst at the same time, it didn’t really
infringe upon her stance on gun control.

with this, she went outside,
bb gun in hand &
started blazing away
without any real notion that what she
commenced
would put any dent in the insanity that these
goddamned crickets
had manifested upon her
&
as the chirping sounds did not &
would not cease,
she dropped to her knees after her
bb gun was empty,
weeping, sobbing &
slobbering tears & spit all over herself,
curled up in a fetal position right out
there in her back yard,
submitting herself to the servitude of
the insects at hand.

Rocking Under Starry Heavens - Deuxieme Jambe

As others Rush out from Subdivisions
applying War Paint hiding Scars
All have Grand Designs, their own Missions
you feel as Nobody's Hero watching their fancy cars

What You're Doing more than one can ask
The Way the Wind Blows sends the Good News First
You have a Bravest Face - they a mask
the one, is you blessed - for they are cursed

Paid The Big Money without counting cost
You Bet Your Life if truly A Farewell to Kings
to enter a Twilight Zone and get lost
it's A Far Cry to get Something for Nothing

With The Speed of Love to find your seat
Emotion Detector going crazy
you Stick It Out - await a strong and simple beat
to dance to - and not be lazy

The Available Light dims it's beams
The Main Monkey Business about to start
So far from your Middletown Dreams
to feel a Secret Touch on your heart

Time and Motion are about to Freeze
as Circumstances assume control
Their music brings you to your knees
as it does all in The Larger Bowl

Your Counterparts they feel it too
beyond what The Camera Eye can see
Beneath, Between, and Behind you
like Second Nature - where you want to be

After time most short, when the music stops
and there's only the sound of applause
Aging Dog Years - your heart drops
put into Limbo by a too long pause

Lessons inform you it's just Chemistry
their giving a Marathon of a gig
They've kept Open Secrets under Lock and Key
Show Don't Tell is all they know, you dig

A Sweet Miracle - upon the stage
Heresy - it has to end
know you must Turn the Page
Afterimage - you it sends

  into the night

Unbreak Me.

Unbreak me from this cycle we are on. Know that I am tired of the trials that I must endure.
Gone from this moment the desire the stick it out. For broken I have become. I need time
to piece back my life. To heal the broken heart you have created. The time has come to
say so long to the pain. Carry away from me your hurt that you travel. Gone from the
tones of voices that shouted for release. I walk away certain to become stronger than once
was. Greater journeys lay out before me. I walk now to a new life, I embrace it with an
open mind. Unbreak me from your hold on me. For I came along not knowing any better at
the time. Now I see clear the horizon. It's mine for the taking. let go and see how strong I
can become. For I shall grow beyond means that your know.

Life Changing

A flasher in jail voiced his fear
I can't handle this place it is clear
Myself I'll amaze
By changing my ways
But I'll stick it out one more year!

The Man I Never Knew

I try so hard to remember you, but when you died I was only two.
I have nothing, not one memory of you. I guess you did what you had to do.

I have always heard that you were such a good man, and mom always said you had a gentle hand.
They say I have your eyes. For you, i've had many cries.

You had to know that you would be leaving us in a mess.
I have some resentment, I must confess.

I would have loved to have known you, and of us girls, who were you closest to?
What all places did you and I go?
When I was born, did you take me around to brag and show?
What it's like to be a daddy's girl, i'll never know.

I had a good raising, I will not complain. My mommow made sure, I had no pain.
I have always thought about you though, and wondered how did your last day go.

Did you give each of us an extra kiss? and think to yourself, "that's what i'm going to miss".
Did you hug us a little tighter? and for a moment, you remembered when life was brighter.

When you sat down beside that tree, what all exactly did you see?
Three beautiful dark haired girls, and the fourth one with blonde curls.

I'm so sorry that life was so bad for you, but have you seen what all we've been through?

You pulled the trigger, and through the woods there was a loud sound. In an instant, our lives were turned upside down.

Pain and sorrow is something our family knows to well.
I won't lie, sometimes life is a living hell.

I'm going to stick it out, so my kids won't have to wonder what I was about.

When they ask me about you, i'll show them a picture and say, he was a good man, and very handsome too, but he is the man I never knew.

Life of a Poet

Along the way, I never meant to be this complicated. Lost myself when I was 17 and ignorin' it just to stay alive. Recently, got jaded by life, but less desensitized by keeping to myself. Wrong things have always felt right, but he can guarantee he'll never hear me say, I want the world when it doesn't want me, a home just to watch it fall, an a love that won't ever be true.

I got a life of a poet that Edgar lead me too. Shakespeare's love always intrigued me. Once I started, I couldn't be stopped. Love is the last thing I'll ever want. Wore-case, he'll break my heart an walk away, but he stayed an fought through my darkness. No more bein' a boxer in a ring defending myself. These are the imperfections of a bad Misfits girl.

Livin' my life in my own way. Darkness within me has me lyin' inside myself for hours at a time and I'll never be the type to fit in with people because, when you're a reject, you don't live the modern way. God knows that's not me. Work full time on this passion of mine. Givin' my all to everything I do, I swear. For a girl who is on her own, has made it really far. It's time for a pen, a notebook, an all my never ending thoughts.

If I know me, like I know me, I'm just tryin' to fight through this bad luck. Keep tellin' myself, you'll find your way an just stick it out cause, it can't rain all the time. I'll never live the way society wants. I'll never run away from problems that attack me cause that's not how my mom raised me.

I want to be a famous writer because they write what's on their mind, even if they're just thinking out loud. So, here's my thoughts.

Ball and Chain Pt 2

Do you ever wonder if you're alone?
We're simply here in a world of "unknown"

Do you ever walk miles just to hear your steps?
Going on journeys and missions --- but never actually finishing a project?

Always second-guessing --- always second-best
Or think you know it all --- but everyone's unimpressed?

Or try to do your own thing and get caught in someone else's web
Then all of a sudden, you're no longer a celeb

The world takes it's natural turn and everyone has bad days
Wondering how in your life right now --- you'll end up pulling out of this phase?

The funk I've been in is breaking inside of my heart
But I stick it out and bear with it --- until it decides to depart

So many thoughts are scattered inside my brain
Concentrating on the falling warm rain

I take a deep breath and I try to start over once again insane
Until I am forever free from this created ball and chain...

Brush It Off

A lot has happened the past few months and days,
But we pulled through and made it past that part of the maze.
I don’t know what is yet to come,
or what to prep to get it all done.
Life ain’t easy and it has its way,
of kick you while ya down, and pickin ya back up again.
So redundant, always the same,
nothin' new but your still to blame.
So, Come on, Get up, Get back in the Game,
Brush it off and that crap on your face!
I know we're strong without a doubt,
So sick it up or kiss my ass,
Take a breath and just relax.
Get back in and stick it out,
Its your choice, the time is now.
Cuz, Life ain’t easy and it has its ways,
of kickin ass and taking names.
So, Come on, Get up, Get back in the Game,
Brush it off and that crap on your face!
I know we're strong without a doubt,
So sick it up or kiss my ass,
Take a breath and just relax.
Get back in and stick it out,
Its your choice, so make it now.
