Best Sonorously Poems

For Me

i think
thinking
many thoughts
of what and
what not

words wield
power as it's
said about
the pen and
the sword

but the poet
chosen need not
pull the pen
from the
stone

no need to be
Arthur but an
author yet better
a juggler of
the round

table's court
sorting words
which one best
syllabically or
sonorously

describes my
routine but each
being a one of
a kind so this
time i'm

choosing a turkish
sword with chainsaw
and a raw egg so
lets see how the
show goes

In Poetry Soup She Lives

IN POETRY SOUP SHE LIVES

Death brings down a banana tree
And goes about with joy in his heart ;
Rejoice not feller of tree
The one you cut has sprouted again :

She sits by the river side
There she quenches our thirst
With purity that flows from her soul
Her eternal spring sweet to behold.

A sparrow atop the roof
Singing sonorously with golden voice;
Guess not too much who she is
It is Marie that has come to play.

A chameleon in the garden
Painting roses , painting lavender ;
No , not just a chameleon
But Marie doing her art in style.

If you saw a spinner by the wall
Weaving words like never before;
Remember her vow and know who she is :
I live on in my words like a spider in its web.

So smile Marie’s friends
Smile in her victory upon wicked death;
When you wish to see your own
In poetrysoup she lives.

You Caught My Fancy

It was on a Sunday night,yes I am sure,for it's all
coming back now and vividly too as if it was yesterday.
The night was clear with the brightness of the moon
like a glowing dot on the blue night sky.I was walking
home after having a good time with my friends.I was in
a happy mood as I strolled pass on the street.
As I looked, something caught my attention.
Involuntarily I double checked to know what pricked
my consciousness so.Behold, behind the flickering
light of a home-made lantern,sat this beauty.I meant
to continue my walk, but my legs as if in consonance
with the activities of my brain and the control of
my mind,took me to her.
I greeted her,and with the light dancing in her
sparkling eyes she responded. When she spoke,it was with
a charming smile and an alluring gap-toothed dentition,
coupled with a sonorously infused velvety voice.I was
captivated.I intended to spend a few minutes but ended
up spending over an hour with her.She has an adorable
physique with such a poise.I have been addicted to her
ever since.
But she has not afforded me the opportunity to express
what I feel inside me for her,nor has the situation
provided itself. There seem to be many of us seeking her
attention.I don't know if this personality I fell for is
her true person or a persona. One thing I know is that
she caught my fancy.Who am I talking about if not you.
Yes,you Baby. You are the Beauty that Caught my Fancy.

Luck In Chibuk

#BringBackOurGirls

They danced upon their blood
as they crushed their tender bones
like a nut eater breaking the seeds
and when they sucked their marrow
which moved them like laughing-gas
like ashen jackas they laughed
and exposed their bloody fangs.
They gyrated upon their blood,
sang sonorously on bestial podium;
happy at the sight of their daggers
with which they murdered the falconets;
and when asked why they gored the young,
the eagles must feed on the brood they replied;
and to the Chiboks they said: what a goodluck!

Lemonade

"Lemonade"

Agency sent me to
the territory of
Lemonade dreams
where secret rendezvous
were disjointed
and criminally spent
shooting the cool breeze
she blew hot and cold
covertly coquettish
while they waited for
absent common sense
to repent in her confessional booth
like diamonds their eyes twinkled
their smiles stroked
the changing colours of her
scaled existence, waiting
she smoked their egos
like she was patting
lackadaisical fur
she reminded herself
they were all reptilian
lazy nights with the
Blue Iguana
lounging long legged
stilettos sharp and lethal
schmoozing sonorously
with shiny wet lipped
slick talking smooth
barflies and lizards
talking tangled tongues
they kissed the air
hissing, this of course,
blithe and thin,
full of promises
and sensual missives
taking their lives
with shots of time
tempering caresses
along the tumultuous
tears in the fabric of a frayed life
short skirting the rim
swallowing a small esse essay
while they gobbled wild turkey
straight,
shooting words like bullets
no ice and bent stories
they would appear as monks
religiously flagellating
regular and on point
tomes of despair
lacking their one
shot at a heroine
whose fair addiction
psychoanalysing
muddled minds
bubbled like lemonade
cool, she was a long tall glass
sucking dreams up
her sucking straw
seen through her cut green
glassed shards of mirrors
they were all transforming
into colourful big beaked
squawking macaws
while she read lines
with her man Coleridge
and considered everything
“as if this earth in
fast thick pants were
breathing”
she turned their bent pages
fey and crooked and
burned the leaves for mystic tea
an aphrodisiac as sacrificial offering
to a plot twist
dei ex machina
surely all gods would come soon
in time to a party
bare of good men
where the rule
was no law

A chance to join that pantheon
For all the times they never heard your battle cry
Now even angels sing along"

Endless Road

Feeling the air in a wide endless road,
Driving the highways with a bunch heavy load
Shouting things out in a dusty back seat,
Gazing the seas with massive lot fleet

Breeze from the ocean was what we all smell,
Haunted woods in forest were what we all tell.
We sit like a royal in a luxurious car
Playfully pretending that it was our own car

Treasure this moment that I’ll never forget
Hear different strings of music from a windy fret.
Spend this time with me in an awesome ride
Sooner we can’t do this coz you’ll be a loyal bride.

Feel this moment in an endless road,
It only happens once in our stories of unfold.
Shout out loud while wind sonorously screams
This happy joyride is unforgettably one of my dreams.

At You

Let me at first
sight split in your
eyes
To see the look you
will wear on your
face.
Let me seize foods
and fruits from your
gullet
For three morning
and night
To see your mood in
this condition
Let me empty your
purse to water and
sands
To look up to your
disdain temper of
insatiable.
Let me pressurize
you under the sun
To see how vengeance
discomfort your
heart will beat
Let me knife you a
wound on your body
To witness your
impatient state.
Let me axed your
wound
To hear what your
mouth will
pronounce.
Will it upon these
tortures and
treatments
Withstand to
sonorously call her
name?
Or will it renounce
her name to a
worthless
measurement?
Endless is a love
that never resist
all odds;
Fall-out is a
weakling love
Which waits only in
all good accord.

In Everton Forest

The place was a symphony of sweet sound
the melodies of nature enough to astound
even the most deaden'd of senses.
There was such an abundance of delicious charm
that the spirit felt awash in a glorious and soothing balm./

Above - in the lush green canopy the birds trilled, to burst,
clamouring to be the very first
announcers of the pearly dawn./
The murmur of the nearby stream with its throngs of reeds, lush and tall
swayed and rustled in the early breeze
while far-off could be heard the muted roar of a great waterfall.

Far above a solitary falcon called and circled
then spotting some far-off prey, hurled
itself down like an arrow.
The fresh and invigorating breeze
whispered sonorously throght the trees,
a sighing accompaniment to the staccato "rat-a-tat-tat"
of a pair of brilliant plumaged woodpeckers.

Night In the City

With a sprightly gait and a bag full of dreams
I confront this concrete jungle, uncharted as it seems
Like a maiden with a sparkle in her eyes
Luring with beautiful lies
A smile, giving light to darkening skies
A cheeriness that utter strife belies

Neon lights, head lights, street lights, city lights
In broad night light, who needs a flash light?
Being here, it feels right
Find love, I just might
Blurry yet so bright
Fleeting, soon it takes flight

Like a graffiti of colours
Brilliant and belligerent
Lights dancing at night hours
Radiant and iridescent
By music in the moonlight, I am happily greeted
A breezy tranquility, sonorously interrupted

The Cracked Pillar

By Gilbert Mapengo Mwanguku

Unable to stand the horrendous cacophony
that comes with the holly typhoons from the west
A dwindling struggle for life with a riffle
while the edges smuggle maggots and goats

Red eye is the destined transition
yet blue is the nature of the pupil
yellow drops pour endlessly

The pillar is pregnant again
Now with triplets like pets
Melancholy, foray and agony

Tied up in a wagon of bygones
trying to define a smile in times of a calamity
glory written on the faces of ants
they have found a home
yet in the other dark crack is a rat
worried about the impending fate
in case the pillar is pronounced late

Then the earth sonorously quakes
the wheels of wind roll
like the rapid blood flow from the gallows
Darkest clouds in rage converge
In the background pounding ambiances heard
Sober minds and sombre moods pass the time

Thunder cracks, and the pillar is down kissing mother earth

Sop of a Songbird

SOP OF A SONGBIRD
At the labyrinth of life
Fear of its complex nature griped our heart
Like a stranger at a tripartite junction.
Worries came afterward , humping us high and dry with impossible mission
Life became humdrum in a fixed gyration
And like a gyro, our earth revolves
Sonorously , we are made to sing : the songs of the slaves
How can a fire burn without fuel and hands functions without bones
Then you can tell, how the life can function without divine faith

Now! Let the ear that hears hear
the songs of a humming birds
A song of hope , the tune of faith
The faith that fires fear
A true reflection of hope, treasures of our rich universe
And the saviour of mankind
From the chagrined and chary of life

A Promise To Thuja (For Femi)

My little versification remains
I versify to satisfy
Beautify and dignify
Our union

My Amazon
Flourishes in honesty and dignity
Glows in beauty and sanctity
Flawlessly flaunting your scintillating
Curvature with all courtesy and curtsy

My Arkhaggelos
With an angelic benign voice
Warbling sonorously to the
Tune of life

My charming tall pageant
Winning unendlessly
Miss World in my world
Vivaciously dazzling like a
Fresh morning rose
From the city of those
Who only chew “Oro” and go to bed

Promising to ceaselessly
Abide in your kingdom as long as
I remain the King
Whence there forth, you will
Remain the only “Olori” in my palace.

In my quest for wanderlust
Shivering to remember
Fidgeting to be reminded
Your usual subtle salvo
Threatening brims and stones
If caught dribbling

Promising by HIS grace
Not to be drifted away
Or caught in the web
Of the harlequin filthy fig
Not to whither
But to hold tighter
Till we roll in the alter

I once again versify
To continue to water you my Thuja
Without season or dribbling
As long as you promise to
Remain faithfully slim and svelte
Like the white flower that will
Always flourish anywhere in the world
Which you are.

Hear No Evil

Simple words heard in my halcyon days I bring
‘Forget and Forgive’ are the exuberant thoughts that spring
This eternal truth in my heart I sonorously sing
Cynical I would be if my mind had not had it cling
Jealousy it may or may not bring, but I wear this Truth as a pearl in my string.
From a desultory to a determined thought it took time to swing
This conviction I know is not a crepuscular hour thing
Any evil words heard I take as mere visceral sting
This way a penumbra of any despair out I wring
Leading an opulent life of this faith I walk like a KING.

The World Is In Need

The world is in need
The blind could see
The deaf could hear
No one is ignorant of its pain

The shame is glaring
The reproach is at the door step of all.
Making the rich poor
And the poor becoming rich

All are captive of something
Even the so called champion
Cry sonorously in private
When the least publicly laugh away their shame

Our inability could be an advantage
To account for bountiful gain in time
But the failure we couldn’t see
Is an hindrance to our success story

The world is meant to be an abode of success
But cannot account for its destiny
Everyone makes themselves a problem
Seeking opportunities for a better days not a better life

How would the world be fulfilled
When men are yet willing.
