Premium Member A Nightingale Sings of Dawn's Glory

A Nightingale sings of dawn's glory
In the still of the night
She croons in crescendo the story
Of how the sun gives light

The Mighty Creator who made her
Made the ball of fire too
That transforms the darkness to a blur
    Of reddish-orange hue

The dawn in its painted pageantry
    Woos the nightingale's tune
It's a stunning trendy tapestry
    With colours of heav'n strewn

The bird knows the summons of the dawn
Yet does not wish to stop
Soon the soft pink curtains must be drawn
    Mesmerising backdrop

Her last aria comes to an end
With the rise of the dawn
The sun silences his sweet li'l friend
    Yet her lilt lingers on

The Faeries Are Still Outside

Trying to cheer a garden up from the clay,
But the crabgrass won’t part
And the trees are snickering
At the art-
Less way the faeries
Sway while chanting,
Casting their spells—
Such an untalented group!
Out of tune, with
Too often the lyric,
 “wha’ ta’ we all do?”
Stuck in a measureless breath
And beyond any rhyming lure to
The sprouts for any wanting to grow!
Wise, the trees lean, whining,
Slow whispers that, “
The faeries should go!
Back to their wizards
For more lessons in garden growth. “
The aged trees are exasperated; after all,
There’s little more to it
Than spreading the
Spell of encouragement, because
The sun and earth are already there prepared
For the growing…
So the trees advise,
“Raise ye’ stems around us trees.
We’ll keep the winds
From blowin’ ye’ over!
And keep the sun from
Parching your leaves.
We’ll sing lullabies to the herbs,
“Hush a-bye lurra lu,
Rest now your intake of green.
Be doodle-ye-do get ye’ ready
 For droplets of dew
Diddle-eye-done
Dew comes after your dreams
Along with the rise up of the sun.”

Then the trees applauded
Among themselves, promising
That as soon as
The garden grew a bit,
The trees would tell all those little plants
Just how Spirit
Lives inside their stems, their flowers and leaves,
Where the spells of the faeries cannot reside…but,
“Deed le-dee see la so sigh.” Fine,
Let the spells be sung.
“‘Tis a task the faeries prize,” and who knows if it won’t
Help the clay to crack,
“Fiddle diddle perhaps a fact!”

Premium Member Here It Comes

I believe in warmth
the comforting embrace of a loved one
crackling campfire on a January night
the smile of one who knows you're here to stay
it's been a long, cold lonely winter
I believe in hope
faith is the assurance of things hoped for
the certainty of what we do not see
   I don't see it, but I know it's coming
it feels like years since it's been here
I believe in love
the tide that lifts all boats
   the surprise gift
the compassionate ear that truly listens
the smiles returning to the faces
I believe in light
and the One who said, "let there be light"
the true light that gives light
empress of the night reflecting glory of the daystar
it seems like years since it's been clear
I believe in song
we sang to the moon last night as she rose:
   "Shine On, Harvest Moon", "Moonshadow",
"By the Light of the Silvery Moon".
   Little darling, it's all right

We sing again in chill of daybreak
with the roseate glow of realized anticipation…
   "Here Comes the Sun"

// The song "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles has been my favorite song as long as I can remember, for its simple message of hope, light, warmth, and love. It was the song my daughter chose to have played just before we walked the aisle on her wedding day, a very special moment for me. //

Good Night Sweet Day a Lullaby

The sun is tucked snuggly, in the cuddly sea, like the sleepy baby, in a sheepy fuzzy fleece The clouds are fluffy pink pillows, for your head and waves caress funny little feet, in your bed Birds tweet peep peep, as eyes flicker in the twilight Night comes and your asleep, when dreams take flight Good night sweet day, we will see you at your adorning Happy across the bay, then we'll sing you, a good morning

Sunrise..Sunrise...Rise up and shine your love on me.
Shine your love on me.
It's got to be the nicest thing.
You can do for me, in the morning..

Sunrise...Sunrise...Rise up and shine your love on me.
Your love it shines like a golden sphere, and it's always near.
And it shines on me, in the morning..

Sunrise...Sunrise...Rise up and shine your love on me.
It's got to be the nicest thing.
You can do for me.Oh! Sunrise..

Winter can be a wonderland of beauty and cold
Ienjoy making the snow into an angel mold
North winds blow
The crows say, please no more snow
Every night another log on the fire
Ready for tea and to hear the singing choir

The sun running across the ice is a sight to behold
It looks like beautiful white gold
Maybe winter will not last
Enough of the wonderland it now will melt fast

Premium Member A Lovely Day

The bright sun was peeking through the curtain,

I opened it up wide to let the light in.

In the trees the birds are singing,

singing songs just to me.

Oh what a pretty day,

they are singing away.

Dressed and outside I will go,

my garden awaits with a glow.

The flowers with their perfume smell,

now calling bees and butterflies from everywhere.

I sit sipping my cup of coffee,

as I watch the beauty of this day.

A Choir of One

Sun drips her smile off my cheek
interrupting moments weak
a hummingbird hovers
outside the pane
of my half-opened window
trying to capture the drops
of sugar falling off my lips
but no one wants to hear a choir of one
even if filled with love

notes sour
in an empty breeze
no apparent harmony

salt seeks her home
recover what's seen
backdrop to discovery

Stolen dreams drift off without me
watched under the heat of day
burnt into oblivion
under two-bit glass
cutting at the heart of tomorrow
I sing a pretty song
as the sun silently disappears
Votre amour est tenu dans ces yeux

I Will Get Through This

I will get through this.

I will run through the pain and I will rise above the flames.
I will thank the Lord above, the day I truly feel safe.
I will open my arms and embrace the beauty of her face,
The day I can truly live again in this wonderful place.

I will get through this, I will fly up high;
I will get through this, I will raise another smile.
I will get through this, if only I can truly try,
To live again my friend, then I will once more feel alive.

I will travel on, in this little mixed up life of mine
And I will rise up one morning, to see the sun shine.
I will kiss the morning, whilst wearing nothing but a smile,
Because life does go on, so you can once more have a life.

Life is way too short to let your fears hold you back;
You need to look after your body to prevent a heart attack.
You need to find something to love, so you can truly relax;
Then you will find you Heaven once more and at long last once more laugh.

I will get through this, I will fly up high;
I will get through this, I will raise another smile.
I will get through this, if only I can truly try,
To live again my friend, then I will once more feel alive.

As the rain falls down like the tears falling from my eyes,
I remember that time when the sun did truly shine.
It lit up her eyes like the radiance of her smile
And it made me feel at ease, like the water to the fire.

I will conquer my demons and stop all my negative thoughts
And I will remember the good times, like that time they acted cool.
I will stand up proud and remember how they touched our lives,
Like a ray of sunshine, they showed us our paradise.

I will get through this, I will fly up high;
I will get through this, I will raise another smile.
I will get through this, if only I can truly try,
To live again my friend, then I will once more feel alive.

Again
with snow on me
I awake from my sleep
the warmth from the big yellow sun
brings pretty flowers peeking their heads out
birds start to sing joy to the world
squirrels scamper quickly
springtime is here
