. . . a souvenir of selfless stars salute,
shine and shimmer.
in a secured state:
silvery shadows share secluded silence,
scintillating, becoming dimmer.
you -
sustaining like a synchronized swimmer,
show me, our syllables still glimmer

* For Tom Woody *
Author’s Note: In moments of solitude, it’s all about attitude.
Through those moments, you reassured me, and I encouraged you.
Wherever we lived, summer meant
riding in the car ~
red clay, Georgia bound
My excitement grew with each state
trapped in Daddy’s rearview mirror.
Macon was relative love ground
where smiles were not lost but found.
I always sat in the back seat, heart viewing you,
knowing before dark came
I would hear your dear accent say my name.
After dark, I knew I would stay with you ~
not brother, or little sister, Pooh,
but me, snuggle loved in your bed
and you would care about all I thought and said.
Sweet, Grannie, for decades now I have missed you
I can still hear your voice, see your eyes twinkle
and
tonight I embrace space
seeking your dear, fresh powder presence
gentle words of love’s selfless attention
turned to silence way too soon ...
in my heart we still share love
Grannie, you were the softest light in my youth
Could you but rock me secure once more this night –
sing your comfort songs – gently hush my grown fright -
safe, sweet Grannie arms would shield me in love’s truth
I still talk to her
close my eyes with hopes she hears
~~ she believed in me ~ ~
her image never leaves me
my adult still craves her - here
I was not ready to lose you.
But you were taken from me, anyway.
Suddenly.
On a sunny day that started so normally.
Without any sign of the emotional pain to come.
Abruptly.
Life’s like that, I guess.
It shouldn’t be that way. It just is.
Unfair.
Losing a loved one is always hard.
Losing a father at a tender age is as hard as it gets.
Wrenching.
I was more than a boy.
But, not yet a man.
Becoming.
You were meant to be my guide through that stage of life.
You were supposed to be my mentor as I grew.
Transitioning.
I had to do a lot of growing up fast in those early years after you passed.
I had to be strong for Mum.
Maturing.
The sad thing is I have more in common with you now than I had then.
I share your love for photography and classical music.
Passions.
Oh, the conversations we could have had.
I don’t even know which classical composers you listened to.
Wondering.
So many things left unsaid.
So much potential.
Gone.
I would have been a different man if you had stayed.
In ways that I will never know.
Unguessable.
I’ve been told I look like you.
That gives me much consolation.
Comforting.
I feel like, in me, there’s a part of you that lives still.
I carry on your name.
Heritage.
The memories may be dimmer as the years roll by too fast.
But I will never forget the values you taught me.
Integrity.
Honesty.
Trust.
Love.
Yours was a selfless love.
I never wanted for anything.
Cared for.
Loved.
One day we WILL have those conversations.
When I get to Heaven.
Future.
But I hope that day doesn’t come too soon.
Until then, keep watching over me.
I hope I make you proud.
Many believe there are angels among us.
Where do these angels come from?
Are they manifest from among us?
If so, how does it happen?
A being in the physical state
seeks the source of its being.
It looks within its current form
for the essence of its being.
Determining that that essence is Spirit in form,
it decides to align itself with the Spirit.
When it is aligned with the Spirit,
there is an enlightenment that reveals the miracle.
By opening its heart and inviting the Spirit within
to flow or live through it.
The person is given power to perform miracles
with the Spirit and become angelic.
These individual or those that we
Commonly refer to as the angels among us.
They’re ordinary spirits that have allowed
The Spirit to love unconditionally through them.
You give us blessings beyond compare
You don't care what's in it for you
You care for your Brothers, you care about the outcasts
You never say it's not a good time
With you, Everything's in its Right Place
With you, the puzzle is assembled
With you, there is order in a chaotic world
With you, life has meaning
You give the breath of life
You end the strife of the oppressed and destroy the evil one
You give second chances, third chances,...
You are infinity, boundless and endless
You confirm Everything I want to be
Your love is eternal, you love unconditionally
You align our lives to fit the mold
You give us gifts, abilities, and grateful attitudes
You remind us of what is truly important
You remind us to never take Anything for granted
You declare your happiness for the creation of our species
You've seen the beauty of the repentant sinner
You give us bread for your life and wine for your blood
That you gave for us
You gave us Everything that is possible
Thank you precious and gracious Lord
We worship you and you alone
For only the lonely can know
A selfless act in a selfish world,
Self servers with their lists to show
For only the lonely can know
An act you have nothing to owe,
Rare vessels of goodwill unfurled
For only the lonely can know
A selfless act in a selfish world.
Alluring kindness in a gentle, caring gaze,
Altruistic spirit, a beacon in a maze.
Anchor in the storm, a whisper, soft and strong,
As she walks among us, righting every wrong.
Anchored by humility, a beacon ever bright,
Brave spirit, championing justice with gentle might.
Considerate whispers mend a heart that's torn and frayed,
Down-to-earth laughter chases shadows, unafraid.
Empathy's embrace, a refuge warm and wide,
Fiercely compassionate, with burdens she confides.
Grounded in reality, dreams take graceful flight,
Humility, a crown she wears, a gentle, guiding light.
Integrity is her compass, on life's untrodden ways,
Joyful spirit, lighting paths through darkest, stormiest days.
Kindred souls she welcomes, with an open, accepting mind,
Lifting spirits with a touch, a solace they can find.
Modest triumphs whisper tales of battles fought and won,
Nurturing the vulnerable, 'til hope's new day has begun.
Open-minded to all voices, a symphony untold,
Passionate for a better world, a story yet unfolds.
Quiet strength, a steady hand, on life's ever-changing ledge,
Realistic dreams ignite a spark, defying every pledge.
Respectful gaze meets every eye, a bridge across the divide,
Selfless acts, a silent song, with love as her guide.
Tenacious spirit, breaking down the walls of fear,
Unassuming confidence, a whisper, loud and clear.
Vulnerable openness, a tapestry so bright,
Wisdom's gentle whispers guide her through the darkest night.
Yearning for a brighter dawn, her passion burns so true,
Zealous for justice, a warrior bathed in gentle dew.
Zealous for a brighter world, a warrior bathed in light,
Zest for life, a beacon burning ever bright.
Zenith of compassion, a heart forever true,
A song unsung, a tribute just for you.
Forgiving and patient, so kind,
Affectionate and loving, unconditional;
Tireless, hardworking without complaints,
Humble and gentle, never does he
Ever grumble in fulfilling our needs;
Resolute and unswerving my dad is,
Selfless, simple - epitome of sacrifice, and a strict
Disciplinarian, he instilled moral values in us.
About my dear dad, I have much more to pen
Yes..had I got more space, I would go on and on...

Kindness is a deed no one forgets that easily...
it's given to measure one's selfless love against
another without compassion, regard and mercy;
and however small it may seem, it's a big gift!
Receive that gift with a sincere smile and merry feeling
by thanking that one when you were drenched in misery
and reflected on the ugliness of greed against generosity:
who was ready and willing to give something for nothing?
Deprivation causes anger, need and unhappiness,
not having full plates on tables and smell their flavors...
in blessed homes there's always warmth and serenity;
don't measure their abundance with grim looks of envy!
If only my life
had been a blessing to all
my shame would vanish.
I used to bend to the will of people
putting them first and selflessly
only for them to make it feel unequal
suffering when they don’t help me
They even sat and doubted my words,
said attention was my true thirst
as if I made up what hadn’t occurred
they didn’t help and made it worse
Yet they’d talk about their problems
for my opinion and helpful options
as if unaware they treat me rotten
that’s when I told them to jog on
they failed to understand the change
saying for no reason I turned strange
playing innocent and pointing blame
victims of a man gone insane
and that story soon spread the town
heard by all who were around
I’ve gone wrong and I’m put down
watch my reputation drown
They act like Saints who want to help me
implying I’m mentally unhealthy
had the chance and this they dealt me
so I don’t do selfless only selfie.
profound peace ~ consensual, continual, selfless living
Then Thisbe stole forth as agreed upon
Unobserved her head covered with a veil
Out of city’s bounds edifice well known
Waited for Pyramus near a fountain trail.
In the dim light she descried a lioness
Nearing the fountain with blood reeking jaws
With a recent slaughter to slake her thirst.
She fled dropping her veil out of fright.
After quenching thirst turned back for her cove
Renting the veil in bloody mouth on her retreat
But Venus won’t always befriend true love.
Having delayed Pyramus arrived there
Saw footsteps of the lioness in the sand
And found the veil all bloody over there
Crying picked up the rent veil in his hand.
Thought himself to be the cause of her death
Covering the veil with kiss and with tear
And said, come ye lioness tear with your teeth
Let my blood also shall stain your texture.
He plunged sword into his heart with a shove
Blood spurted tinging the tree with red color
But Venus won’t always befriend true love.
Thisbe stepped out not to disappoint him
She noticed the change in the tree’s color
In the agonies of death she saw him.
A shudder ran as ripple in still water.
She saw her veil and his scabbard empty.
He has slain himself for her sake only.
She said, “I could be brave and follow thee
Death alone couldn’t prevent my joining thee
Love and death join us, one tomb be our grove”
She plunged the sword in her breast near the tree
But Venus won’t always befriend true love.

Such tale of the self-less love presented
The two bodies in one tomb were buried
Pyramus-Thisbe tale our hearts do move
Berries serve memorials of their blood
But Venus won’t always befriend true love.

The etiquette of the night stands by the curtain with contentment
Picture of crawling crickets hectic body of voters colored
The darkness of imagination manipulates to dark our constitution to
constituency zone
The constant condemnation is an umbrella shared values and norms to the
nomadic.
The beauty of the night capsule of wants design to distract us from total
focus to guilty vocalist
The color of the house depicted in my imagination to beach goers like

Invitation of writers to describe the time of inspiration in their billions
of years of thinking
He never promised to witness the nasty sound of owl's cry as the village
hope hurt the messiah of serenity to conch sound
The tone of choir band collapsing to entertains the onlookers that never

Despite diction are sweet, but they never describe my pain as much as they

What is love?
A rhetorical question!
An art movie I want to watch without an intervention.
What is love?
An amusing venture!
If taken too seriously may turn into a dicey adventure.
What is love?
A companionship for lifelong!
An emotion so mighty and fiercely strong.
What is love?
A luxury not everyone can afford,
a beauty not everyone can behold.
Alas!
What is love?
Love is a journey not a destination,
love is a feeling you can't possess with lack of compassion.
Love is a cure to jealousy,
a power mightier than any prophecy.
Love is an emotion which can't be expressed with actions alone,
it is a fragrance stronger than any cologne.
Love is pure in all forms,
love is accepted in all norms.
Love is selfless,
love is never helpless.
Love is felt not seen,
love is reality not a movie on screen.
True love is unrefined,
love best is undefined.
Love is Love.
