The Tall Cat

I Do not want a window seat .
I do not want to freeze my feet..
I do not want a waiter cat .
I do not like his pin striped hat..
I do not want him to touch my food.
And how he speaks is down right Rude..

So won't you take my order Jerry.
I know the menu, and I'm in quite the hurry..
Scrapple , egg and cheese on toast,
that is the meal I love the most..
The tall cat can have his green eggs and ham.
He's not from Philly but Sam I Am..

It Can'T Be That Hard

Bushels and bushels of apple upon apple,
Canned, frozen, or fresh just couldn't keep up the pace.
Fallen fruit amounted to ripe fermented scrapple,
The solution of course, stared us both in the face.

If we had the setup we could bottle the stuff,
Taking the essence of the apple's sweet mashed flesh.
Producing hard cider would use up more than enough.
All that we'd need is grinder, storage, and a press.

We searched the internet for the tools of the trade,
This proved to be fruitless, expenses added fast.
There had to be a better way, something hand made.
Maybe a trip to Walmart could solve this at last.

Gripping three one hundred dollar bills, we were off,
Wood chipper, yeast, trash can; we loaded up the cart.
Borrowed a car jack and a old tarp for the trough.
It all came together, we're ready to start.

We had a few issues duct tap readily fixed,
Amassing cider in bucket after bucket.
We capped each barrel with ingredients mixed
A little of this, a little that, ahh... suck it...

Fermented, bottled, capped and allowed to settle,
Trying at last, dry and sparkling, with a smooth taste.
Up to get more, we fell tail over teakettle,
The only mistake we made was standing in haste.

Yo Philly

YO PHILLY

Statuate Billy Penn who stands on tall
And sits upon the antique City Hall
To view and overlook the sky and trees
There is a small metropolis to see
And see our main Broad Street run both north and south
Where all the lights adorn resplendent sights
As in an airport runway in the night
Along with staggered bistros in the north
A place where philly cheesesteaks do abound
Delicious Scrapple joined in with the eggs
A tasty Amish food that has a flair
Hot mustard and soft pretzels added in
And a sweet water ice to quench your thirst
To love a tasty blend of Philly fare

Incorrigible Lottery Dreamer

Paradise visage and eyes a bulge with dollar signs
whets imagination with PowerBall ticket bought
expect the usual outcome after next drawing to yield monetary naught
temptation for instant millions
human foible to reach for elusive pot of gold
streak of universal desire for potential wealth overtakes rational self
   with delusions of grandeur caught
allow, enable and provide flirtation with fate to experience rich draught
envision emancipation from penury a distant battle fought
and tacked hard scrapple existence wrought.

at the core
legal tender in such precious chronically in short supply
   within this family of four
though times eye desire at least another son or daughter more
at such urge (long silenced of this ram beau by ewe
   too who) did vehemently roar
boot budding young girls I whole-heartedly love and adore
who rush into my arms whenever back from trivial pursuits
   nearly squeezing out digested gore
when casually and nonchalantly turn the key to open the front door
akin to the finest crafted clock work to sound the time of day
they still dance and frolic like kittens or puppies
bring newspaper and slippers sharing silly concocted faux pa lore
inviting me to play make believe games on the floor
enjoying revelry without keeping score
yet…creating memories I will forever store.

Financial straits make our existence hand to mouth
all grandiose aspirations to succeed in life frequently head south.

Creative endeavors find excitement and linguistic pleasure
thru the attempt to pry poem or prose from mind
deliberate semblance to communicate and extract idea from cranial rind
words that synchronize suitably in poetic third eye bind
readers may espy hidden puns within this rhyme lined
with challenges or commiserate and complement via words of positive kind
although large sum of money would be a dog send
delivered by one blessed angel in disguise
redemption and salvation considered thankful find.

Much rather be cursed with excess wealth
Deliverance to life, liberty and mental health
Depravity foreign concept never to rue by stealth
bomber - to obliterate penury via greenback legal tendered war.

Red On Red

Red on red, like a candy apple
Her red face looked tomato red
Blotchy as Philadelphia scrapple
Agony, anger, lots of dread
The face of a woman obsessed
With a madman’s crazy day
She wanted to escape, fly away

Gray on gray, smoke won’t go away
I don’t know what I can really say
I think I might need a bullet proof vest
For if I linger I may be laid to rest
And vultures will fly over my head
Thru the smoke to be gladly fed

Blue on blue, does anyone have a clue
What causes the greenish, blue flames
To travel thru the lives of me and you
In a land divided in two by red and blue?
We are also torn between will and must
Confusion covers us like rust and dust

Found It Hard To Believe

Found It Hard To Believe

Backs of others Trump liked to stroke
Sold us down river when we went broke
Went down an avenue to play in a park
Supporters were eaten by a loan shark.

With himself hard time trying to grapple
Said people in Phiadelphia who ate scrapple
Were found drowned in a swimming pool
Which was all full of mush loose stool.

Local loser supporters gathered around
To hear New York accent an awful sound
King Kong was seen on Trump Tower
Wanted his picture taken by Matt Lauer.
(Also, we heard that Trump went bonkers;
Tower must be transferred to Younkers.)

Trump liked his food served localized
Fell on floor and server was severely criticized;
Trump as usual really had been bluffing;
Us with turkey crap he started stuffing.

We finally arrived at rear end of story
His blood and guts were in their glory
From superfluous sinful stories he told;
Were so many blamed them on Manifold.

How do you fold up a manifold sin
without being short sheeted? Good
question.

Toasted Kernals of Salted, Saged Brothing's

he spoke of hear the pig's heart
they sounded loudly thru the ribs
his flesh was fresh and would
cause him to wish for silence
"the husk's of the kernal's,
are grounded by those sages who
are brothed by livers and kidneys
the flesh of the swine, damn-it might his
heart be silent
might my ears hearest him not!
she created me with seasons
in the room
beaneath her floor
the heart sounds thru it's aroma
to starve me into my sileance.
might bread be browned
and eggs warmed to perfection
that the I might silence the
pig beneath the floor.
than might you love me
than might you love me!

Crash Simpson grasped the flaming sword
and held it up against the Ghost Rider
They would battle to the death
a vision that continued to grow even wider

But Crash's daughter was in the way
holding close to Johnny Blaze's side
Crash refused to engage
not wanting her to die

Then suddenly Crash and Ghost Rider tumbled
down deep into the bowels of hell
"Johnny Blaze prepare to die!!"
Crash uttered in a fiesty yell

In front of Satan they battled,
then a large serpent grabbed the spirit of vengeance
Crash Simpson could not injure him
and he quickly changed his intentions

With the sword he killed the serpent
and then ended the life of a demon
But he was injured in the scrapple
and his life soon became one of dreaming

Soon Ghost rider was reunited with Roxanne
and she seemingly forgot about the battle
but off to the desert they would go
where monster snakes would loudly rattle

Mixed With Scrapple

Mixed With Scrapple

Where should I try to start out and begin?
Pine trees are tall and always so thin
In balmy breeze will sway and sway
While children underneath often play.

So today what should we really do?
Ask God to have our dreams come true
Or something special like a smiling dog
Maybe a frog leaping high over a log.

Gave her some flowers and presented
To my wife who had finally consented
Instead of pie made out of an apple
We had many eggs mixed with scrapple.

We had fried eggs mixed with scrapple.

To Write a Poem

I will not bow, I will not grovel.
Somewhere inside, I have a novel.

For now poems come freely, so
I'll continue on with what I know.

My Eddie lays beside my chair,
I wash my face, I comb my hair.

It helps me think, I take a drink.
Water, teas, a coffee with booze.
When I get tired, I take a snooze.

I toke my smoke. I riddle. I rhyme.
In my seat, on my feet, I have time.

Walking, walking, down the street.
Greeting all creatures that I meet.

I pass by my little white chapel.
I miss Gram's eggs and scrapple.
