Best Righteousness Poems

Premium Member Becoming Righteous Brings Righteousness

Becoming righteous is a high ask
who indeed can claim this real prize
for God declares all as sinners
so need God to give you rise

Being able to achieve righteous deeds
won't bring a righteousness divine
for deeds can't make you such
only God can show you His sign

God is the author of true righteousness
for He is righteous perfectly true
always has been past and forever
brings Christ's imputed righteousness upon you

The good Lord now sees us as Christ
with His righteousness upon our frame
so God accepts us as His holy ones
now Satan can't cast us with any blame

Now we can do righteous deeds
seeing we are righteous altogether
such a blessing and privilege to have
God has endowed it upon us forever

(Quote:
" We do not become righteous by doing righteous deeds but, having been made righteous, we do righteous deeds".)
- Martin Luther ( 1483-1546)

Premium Member Only the Holy

This poem was inspired by Gershon Wolf’s poem
If God is Holy, then What of Me.
Only the Holy
Only the Holy speak to God on High
Only the Holy seek the reason why
He knows every heartache we each plod through
In prayer God will wing solace to you.

Only the Holy bestow peace on earth,
Only the Holy share their love with mirth
Singing songs of thankfulness joy and praise
For the glorious world our dear Lord gave.

Only the Holy conceive how faith feels
Only the Holy perceive that faith heals
Vanishing sorrows that disturb one’s heart
They are gone forever, afar apart.

Only the Holy head toward the light
Only the Holy with faith shining bright
Their compassionate pure hearts tell us so
Sharing the news in tales of long ago.

Only the Holy follow God's footprints
Only the Holy are freed from all sin
They feel the pain of our Lord's sacrifice
That gifts close of life flights to paradise.

Only the Holy learn what God can do
Only the Holy construct a breakthrough
Righteousness leads to heaven’s gates
Where the Lord meets and greets us face to face..

Premium Member True, Moses Wrote of Righteousness

True, Moses wrote of righteousness, one based upon the law.
But Paul proffered an alternate, eschewed the tragic flaw.
Salvation based on works alone: a concept misapplied.
For all, not most, have fallen short; to live thus was to die.

The argument that he put forth: the wage of sin is death.
The proof that all have fallen short: each takes a final breath.
The second Adam changed it all, met on Damascus Road,
His work, reduced to rubbish, trash, and kicks against the goads.

A righteousness that's based on faith asks not who will ascend;
See, Christ has come down to the world, and faith thus comprehends.
And neither does a right faith seek descent to the abyss,
For Christ has risen from the dead, a point some seem to miss.

A right faith knows the word is near, there in your mouth and heart,
Components of a saving grace, the twain shall never part.
For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is the LORD,
Your heart believes God raised him up, salvation, faith's accord.

For heart's belief is justified, and mouth's confession saved,
And all those who believe in Him are thus no more enslaved.
For there is no distinction now between the Jew or Greek,
For the same Lord is Lord of all, shows grace to all who seek.

But how then will they call on Him in whom they've not believed?
And how shall they believe in Him, when ears have not received?
And how are they supposed to hear, unless someone will preach?
And how are they to preach the word unless they're sent to each?

How beautiful, the feet of those delivering good news!
Not all obey what they have heard, Isaiah thus once mused.
"Lord, who believed what he has heard from us?" the prophet said.
But faith comes through the word of Christ, its hearing raises dead.

Now faith by works indeed is true, a point I must not shirk,
But only faith that's placed in Him, rests in His finished work.

(from Romans 10)

Robes of Righteousness

Your Master’s righteous cloak is not
a bold retreat from evil’s plot.
In peaceful times and in discord,
You shall know that I am the Lord.

In busyness or when you’re bored,
in argument or in accord,
in health or in a hospice ward --
You shall know that I am the Lord.

Noah, a man, perfect and just,
built the ark displaying his trust
in full view of a mocking horde.
You shall know that I am the Lord.

Daniel, confident, skilled and wise,
kept on praying without disguise,
sentenced by a conniving board.
You shall know that I am the Lord.

Job, upright, blameless, God-fearing,
endured his friends’ steadfast jeering,
the goad to curse God, he ignored.
You shall know that I am the Lord.

These three, Noah, Daniel, and Job,
God, deemed righteousness as their robe.
Thru famine, wild beast, plague, and sword,
You shall know that I am the Lord.

Ezekiel 14: 12-23
The repeated phrase is used some 50 times in Ezekiel.

Premium Member Why Choose Evil Over Righteousness

Why hate?
Why be vindictive?
Why spread malicious gossip?
Why does the soul have to be black?
Why not choose to be white and pure?
Why not love?
Why not have peace?
Is all the” Whys” that important that it improves your lives?
That all the “Whys” hurt so many spiritual, physical, and mentally.
Is it people goals to see others miserable?
How can one be happy to cause so much hate and discontent?
Where is the respect of value and dignity of human life?
Why not be the man or woman that God created in his own image
and live the way God wants us to live.

Genesis 1:27 27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Arise and Shine - Salvation

3 vignettes in rondelet form

Salvation’s walls
provide unseen security.
Salvation’s walls
appear as God’s own glory falls
on believers like you and me.
Open the gates of faith and see
salvation’s walls.

Salvation’s robe
covers us with God’s righteousness.
Salvation’s robe
worn by staunch servants who like Job
face trials of extreme distress.
With patience bare your battle dress -
salvation’s robe.

Salvation’s lamp
burns bright as we prepare the way.
Salvation’s lamp
held high by watchmen of the camp.
Rejoice, God holds Satan at bay.
Watch! Christ will come in King’s array -
salvation’s lamp

Premium Member Jehovah Tsidkenu the Lord Our Righteousness

Jehovah is our righteousness
the Lord Himself is He
creator of all things existing
died for our sins on a tree

This one is all righteous
totally and fully in every way
pure unspotted from the world
our salvation He did pay

Righteousness describes our Lord
completely in His righteous shield
protecting us from the devil's darts
with His double edged sword ready to wield

Jehovah Tsidkenu our righteousness
our Lord Jesus the righteous king
imputing His righteousness alone
for that godly elect of His choosing

AUTHOR NOTES:The Lord our Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6 Isaiah 61:1-11 KJV)

The Righteousness of Love

Love is a wonder
shared by one another
it's the only reason
I'm not six feet under
Love in which I believe
in a will to sustain
I give back to life, now
in dormant states of pain

The power of Love
may not alone be enough
locked inside my dreams
escape only from above
higher than any human being
has ever gone before
I must have evolved
rise above hate, great once more

My Father taught me wisdom
I am imprisoned no longer
now an beast not of burden
I am no lion, I am stronger
on my shoulder sits twin dragons
long awaiting the day
evil forces come forth to
take what Love is left, away

A Hero of Love light
are what the world needs
angels, not demons
exist where ever you believe
follow your heart's direction
and you shall achieve
objects of affection
rid of materialistic greed

My bright energy
has awakened to a fire
never consuming the source
as the flames just grow higher
that is the desire
of a product we call Love
Fear, the counterpart
what I was once made of

I am slowly learning
how to win when my peace
is harder to sharpen
so I have given my pen leave
the sword has its uses
I must say I believe
to vanquish the evil
in the minds too diseased
to serve any purpose
except their own selfish ones
tomorrow a new day
in the clarity of the sun
where we two are now one
and one done now does
bring about a great change
lit by the righteousness of Love.

Self-Righteousness

(Just who are the most self-righteous people on earth?)

When God created Adam and designed the fall,
To reveal Christ's glorious salvation call.
 Self-righteousness, then came into play,
To plague mankind in a wicked way.

Sadly, by nature we tend to be,
Righteous in our own works, you see.
The christian struggles most every day,
To keep his self-righteousness at bay.

 But, the most self-righteous man on earth;
The one most permeated with its curse,
Is the atheist in whom we find,
Through the perversion of his mind,
An evil heart that readily condemns
All who dare disagree with him.

The beam is there , yet he sees it not,
But, 'oh the mote, it's in clear eyeshot.
 From his cocksure "pulpit" above,
He promises to bring utopia and love.

He delights in questioning God, too see,
If he can set God at his knee,
Even to replace Him on His throne,
 There to self-righteously rule alone.

He's been this way since the day of Cain.
The atheist, as God, will proclaim,
To be the righteous judge for all,
Obeisance to him is his clarion call.

The tyrant appears in manmade splendor,
Declaring there is no god but Caesar.
And given a little time, he'll appear again,
And we see the rise of Joseph Stalin.

Don't be fooled by this false hope,
That man in his own wisdom can cope,
With the ills lifes struggle brings,
 Into our mortal transition scene.

The "seeming" right way to man, at best,
Becomes the wrong way leading to death.
As the battle royal turns out to be,
The war between my flesh and me.

 Because the great danger exists,
 In our deep-seated self-righteousness.
Unlike the atheist, we pray every day,
That God's Holy Word light our way.

 But, the atheist will have none of this;
No matter how much "man made" pain exists,
From his self-righteous attempt to be,
The righteous judge for you and me.

With this "revealed" knowledge we should find,
Not hate, but love of a Godly kind,
For our adversary the atheist, you see,
But for God's grace, thats what we'd be.

1Cor.2:14 "the natural man recieveth not"...
Rom.8:7 " the carnal mind is enmity--neither can he know"....
 John 6:44 "no man can....
John6:29 "this is the work of God, that ye believe"....

Assured in her beliefs,
My Grandma knew the score:
Not many folk would get to Heaven;
The following would be ignored.

A black man, Jew, Italian,
Catholic, Greek, or Slav,
Misguided Presbyterian,
Adolescent plotting Love.

The Poor, because they should have saved,
The Rich who had too much,
The Drunkard for his need,
The Cripple for his crutch.

Soda jerks (that's bottled drink)
Beauticians? Vanity.
A neighbor Boy once sat with me
Beneath the willow tree.

All these she held apart,
In Scripture being able
Secure in righteousness to find
For diversity a label.

For In-laws she had Charity,
A level Christian measure,
Sufficient thus to demonstrate
Duty over Pleasure.

Of children, there were three,
(Increase will prevail)
Precisely formed and tolerated,
Though indeed one was a Male!

This identical deficiency
Was incumbent on her Spouse.
(Something like an in-law
Only always in the house.)

I'd have liked, Grandma, to see you greet
The missionaried Heathen
Whose Souls the eggs were sold to save.
Just who is let into your Heaven?

So cleverly you read the text,
So sweet you sang the song.
I love you, Grandma, you tried so hard
And got everything so wrong!

The Righteousness of God

There’s so much wickedness and evil that abounds.
Where in this world can the righteous be found?

On account of a righteousness man, this world was saved.
Because of Noah following God, a way of safety was “paved.”

On account of Lot’s righteousness, his family was spared
Because of Abrahams request… God listened and cared.

Because of the righteousness of Jesus, we can live.
His life for our unworthy life, is what he freely gives!

Because of his righteousness , we have hope within!
Through the blood of Christ, we can be born again!

I need the righteousness of God to fill me inside.
I need his grace to remove all bitterness and pride!

I need the holiness of Christ to wash me clean!
He is my righteousness! My everything!

The beauty and glory of God… Nothing can compare!
The heavens declare his righteousness everywhere.

May the righteous words of God, in me, be “implanted.”
May I not take the wonderful grace of God for granted.

Thank you my Lord, for the work you want to do.
Please help me each day, to be more like YOU!

God’s ways are awesome,
 and his beauty is displayed!
Through Jesus Christ…
A way to heaven has been made!

Trees of Righteousness

What is wrong with our ailing society-
We chase after dreams like a proverbial butterfly
That does not know how to fly straight
Only to be caught in a net as lunch for a spider

Is it only through heartache we become wiser
Or bitter
Surely our left hand should know what our right hand does?

Lessons learned well help us discern responsible action
Like -don’t build on a cliff if it is made of sandstone
Or near where water may rise due to flood
Or don’t live where there is strife unless you feel
You are called and have the ability to turn things around
And don’t do to others that you wouldn’t want done to you

From the year dot when mankind left paradise we have warred
And have killed, raped and destroyed that which is good
Even a flood of enormous proportions didn’t change or cleanse
or take away our guilt -for the problem stems from within
of each and everyone -for you see-The problem is- SIN.

Our human tree is the problem we are corrupt as can be
So another tree had to come one that could give life
One that is honest and good to the core
One that could overcome all that the fruit of Sin could implore
Even death- A tree that can give - a life that is new

He is called the Branch and when we are grafted into this holy tree
His nature, if we stay grafted into Him -will eventually cause us to
Bear excellent fruit
Yes there will be seasons that come and go like any fruit bearing tree
But as it matures and is regularly pruned it will give of its abundance
And when the change fully comes, in heaven we’ll be called,
Trees of righteousness - The planting of THE LORD.

Love And Righteousness

God is the creator and Sustainer of the universe
Since God alone can forgive sins,
He came down from heaven and became man
to save his people from their sins

The Bible is full of heroes
that God stood by and helped

                              Samson was given supernatural strength
by God in order to combat his enemies

David at fifteen brought down Goliath with a sling and a rock

Moses became a fugitive when he intervened
on behalf of a Hebrew slave by
                                   killing an Egyptian slave master,
and freeing the Israelites from slavery

God gave Noah detailed instructions for building the ark

There were many others that God chose to help his people
                                        for love and righteousness

A Shroud For Righteousness

A SHROUD FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS

The prophetic verse affirms and acclimatizes as such:
A demonic presence seeks the prevalence of a newly born child.
If a guardian angel exists, number seven (7th) is protected for a greater intellect, acumen and knowledge, and wealth.

For every seventh (7th) child, prophesy was bestowed.
One of hope and to form power, the child was covered with a shroud.
The ability to act or produce an effect, a veil this became as a greater source.

Acumen imparted, therefore, insight is gained.
Revelation to a family of so called “nobodies”.
But oh, great in dominance the mind-sets.
One is the seventh (7th) born…
Chosen to transform the world into a greater norm of the unknown God.

Philosophy...
Only through iniquitous content does a wrongful world exist or hold capacity.

In Song…
A shroud for righteousness I will give to this new born baby girl.
Made from fabric so grand, the sun shines in.
