What Holds More Resplendent Gifts Of The Great And Vast Beyond
Seas of poetry orations, I once took my swims
being strong in spirit, stouter in heart and lithe of limbs
What dread had I of illness or passage of Father Time
when great beauty of verse sang so deep, dancing in its rhyme
Waves of its amber grains, its sandy beach, its great pleasures
stirred heart, pleading soul in immeasurable measures!
If tired, I cast myself upon lands flowing true and fair
seeing magnificence in Earth, Life, Nature- everywhere
Before dawn, before slumber flees this soul's poetry dreams
of paradise shores, poetic thoughts, soft cast golden beams
Winds of change and sublime words to describe and thus to match
castles of hope, beauty's grace and golden eggs- set to hatch!
Fearing not of, high flying fancies and heavenly flights
of lost romantic desires, cast adrift on stormy nights
Or that of abandoned ships left behind in gleaming seas
for poetry gifts its love and blessings of granted pleas
Bountiful harvests of word-seeds so pleasurably sown
are but summer days sending cool winds so gratefully blown!
What holds more resplendent gifts of the great and vast beyond
than poetry, its powers, which poets are so very fond
How its paintings, colors memories one sweetly recalls
of life, living and flames of hot-romance youth often falls
Beyond poetic seas of white-cropped waves and foaming foam
may this old poet's soul, in death, forever gaily roam!

Rhyme, (Inspired verse) (Poetry is Life and Treasure too)
Note- I dedicate this poem to my very good friend Susan Ashley and her wondrously inspiring new poem that inspired me to write this today.
Her new poem titled, The Red Leaf- set me to thinking of its beautiful poetry
and life. And how much poetry means to so many dedicated and in love with poetry poets!
I sat down and this flowed right on out, early this morn.
Note: Use in my poem of "white-cropped" = "white" for good, "cropped" for "appearing unexpectedly".
Thus translated- beyond poetic seas of = unexpectedly good waves and foaming foam.

That Summer Day At That Resplendent, Ancient Weeping Tree
Around that tall, wide spread ancient weeping tree
Where singing meadows and smiling sky looking down
Upon a wandering searching child, namely me
Far, very far away from our small farming town
Gazing up to see where hides the Olympic gods
Seeking life's approval by their wizened nods!
Yet the gods had vanished leaving bright blue sky
Its deep beauty, vestige of all that was to be
I stood transfixed, bravely questioning the why
Could not life and happiness be given for free
Puzzled by the cold hard-set silence falling down
At last seeing, fled were the gods with their false crowns!
As such thoughts invaded a newly minted mind
A child decided best to further knowledge seek
For how ever was a soul to life's great truths find
And verify, blessings come to those humbly meek
Thus acknowledge power of words my father spoke
And prove too, life was love, light- God's masterful stroke!
That summer day at that resplendent, ancient weeping tree.
I found truth- God put an innocent, loving soul in me.

Resplendent
Recovery is great,
rich is the fine reward,
rosy, the future fate
reflecting on love's card.
Remember the high cost,
removing the price tag.
Rejoice, not all is lost!

Rainy nights have hidden
the friendly moon that visited my flowery window;
that was two seasons ago...
when I told her big secrets and didn't conceal pain.
The red-eyed owls watched me strangely and pitied my loneliness;
was I insane for staying up so late?
But sleep was like tasting real death...
I asked myself the same question, " Why dream until daybreak? "
The softness of the resplendent moonlight
must return on the same hour, and paint this sad face with silver moonbeams;
only then my dark night will turn bright...
to relive those summer's nights again and give life to another dream that gleams.

Resplendent Once More
The trees have had
A collective memory lapse
For their bony arms
And gnarled, arthritic hands
Reach, beseech the sky:
Why have you forsaken us?
We are cold and naked
Where is our leafy finery?
Shall it ever be spring again?
They forget
That they’ll soon be bedecked
With cloaks of green
And while
I know how they feel
That is not
What shall make me
Resplendent once more

Lethal kind heart, your fingernails like morganite daggers
sharp enough to stab my heart from the hearth that you warm
As long as you still light it, my breathing bellows will stoke
your flame, which came from a tight lipped smile that
wish me the most beautiful hellos.
Upon the eve of early July, from which the heat of the sun
becomes aggressive, your freckles blossomed into a bouquet,
that shined aside your elegant dress. Darkened in nature,
the color of the void you wore, yet was molded to your whim,
your radiant, resplendent figure.
For the sake of my sanity I will admire as much as my mind will
allow me to comprehend. Hazelnut hair in waves that flowed
down like opulent bordeaux.. Your legs hidden in stockings, they
muted their glow of moonlight and silk. You are a walking wonder,
the embodiment of immaculate gloam.
Dancing outside a mansion, at a celebration of significant love
I felt my very core absorb all the attendants’ admiration,
so I may orchestrate the concentrate of my overflowing dam.
To say what may be simple I may admit, but these words are
pure osmium,
“I want this feeling for forever, if you would let me share it.”

resplendent is the love that comes
when two hearts beat--as if one
nothing greater than the tie that binds
nothing greater shall you find
kindred spirits that find a path
footsteps tread a smooth swath
souls intertwined with silver string
everlasting and revering
I don’t want him ready! I want him resplendent!

R-obbed, his attire, his soul —
E-ventide broods awful choices:
S-immering of melting irises,
P-opulation of fattened princesses.
L-eaping lords, jealous of him.
E-ager, the Uncle’s tongue slick, licking the envelope —
N-ettled invitation of eager straight backs .
D-inner, it is him, but curiously the clock moves ahead.
E-ntertaining in the end, Cinderellaesque resplendency.

I'm struggling to wake up,
rubbing my sensitive eyelids,
I may need more sleep;
awesome is the resplendent
morning dispersing its light,
I perceive it as a sumptuous woman
wearing a green dress as Nature does!
The first thing I do is to whisper
a prayer different in tone and meaning,
my thankfulness to Him transcends a feeling
that reflects an immense appreciation for the precious life
I am living and not projecting emotions felt as trite...
always rendering them profound and equally fair!
The golden gleams of an awakening sun,
crown the tops of the Longleaf pines with diamonds,
not those that wealthy women wear at a ball to be noticed;
these sunbeams rays embellish their branches and make them sparkle
of a great luminescence that even astonishes the raging, fading moon
unwilling to miss the spectacle unfolding with intense images;
the Chirping sparrows have been warbling since the early dawn
and the Orchard orioles parched on spruces are somewhat sad
not have been able to perform and be admired by birdwatchers,
ah, their whistling melodies must wait for silence as they become hostile!
Cold morning light of misty haze.
Ground section, three dimensional rectangular gaze.
Sharp thorns on rose dead red misty tears.
Cracked leather from fisted gloves of black weaponised might.
Shine glistened leathered shoes dulled in this dead light.
Long coat warmth hanging off soulless cold.
Dark glasses cloaked glass eyes shone in glee.
Box lowered slowly.
Oh, but so, so exquisitely.
Standing witness for the joyful final act of the murdered end of thee.
Stop me in my beaten path
knee length grass a shadowed wall
of silver flecks and breeze stung bugs
to hide my soul for awhile
Blanket down on rocks and stones
of melted heat and shocking moon
to count the clouds, to name a few
and feel like the earth finally knows me
Dragonflies land on my toes
Crickets dance while fireflies glow
To slip and slip as the night absorbs
my heat, my heart, my fury
Pack up and it's time to go
Scent of the ground in my hair and my clothes
Turn toward the breezes with nothing to know
but the whistling of wind in my bones...
