Premium Member Spirit's Fire
When I awake to dawn’s light
I long to pray for God’s insight
For His grace through the day
And mercy to help me along my way

When I feel alone and afraid
I go to God with all my thoughts
Reach out to Him with sincerity
And He always answers reassuringly

When...

The Secret Lives of Chimney Pots I
Cluttering above huddled rooftops
Of sprawling villages
And shy provincial towns;
Rising sharply amidst swooping
Declinations;
Hesitating when gathering at the
Tangled woodland perimeters of
Outlying greenland bounds,
Jostled apex ridges detach among
Themselves...
When habitually roused from early
Mornings
Newly awakened sounds.

Electrical milk floats whir and
Bustle around manna-strewn,
Cherry-blossomed streets;
Clinking bottles in blue
Plastic crates
Rattle in monotonous...

Premium Member Listen To the Trees
Listen to the trees…
how dark their voices in the moonless night--
unnerving shades that only today were bright, green, sunny things;
and now their quivering leaves, remind me more
of scarecrow sleeves,
nearby not a bird would light
unless he were a terrible sight.
Listen to the wind…
storm voice near the...

Premium Member Youth Believes Love
Youth believes love
its own invention
and not Nature’s
intension for all--

of course youth
relies solely on youth
its application
before cultivation
our Baby-steps
then the fall…

but I, now,
a senior citizen
a denizen
just prior the sleep,

have grown to see love
high and wide
and reassuringly
infinitely deep....

Written: October 1st 2023
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the ocean of silence, I’m stunned
Astonish by its grandeur as I descend.
A comely curtain of conciliatory calm
Elapse the chaos, surreptitious and warm.
In the hushed embrace of the twilight sky,
A silence plummets, ambrosial all nearby.
Astonied hearts stand in solicitous awe.
A...
Heartless Heart
again he remembers, just like tonight,
           he dreamt long ago about lying awake
           beside her beneath the bronze blanket
Survivor
In war, no glory confides absolutely.
Or is resolute in its righteousness.
Its essence holds no certainties nor goal...nor future.
Clear objectives fade... Justification merely a work in progress.
Clandestine agendas drive enmity across air, sea, sand and meadow.
Misdirected.
Towards an enemy, unseen in tradition and culture.
Unknown, but reassuringly dangerous,...
Premium Member Losing My Mind
Do you ever feel like you are losing your mind,
Stand up and speak ~ would you feel so inclined.
Enter a room and ask yourself why you are there,
Re-tracing every step, trying to become aware.
Or telling a great story then you get halfway,
You think, now what...
Wounded Sacred Dementia
My last foster care-provider
and -receiver story
is also a sad story
of my last special needs adoption
of bipolar born,
and oppositionally reared,
alcoholism.
My BiPolar Wounded Child
turned an auspicious five
on the day I first saw her,
and promptly rejected her,
not in dipolar person,
but in a picture of Little Brown...
Headlights On Dark Roads
HEADLIGHTS ON DARK ROADS
Timid tentative tap on her door at midnight
as she lay expectantly in suspense and the hope
that he would defy all obstacles to prove his love
for her
Like Romeo and Juliet forbidden to date as parents
failed to understand her attraction to him- this soul
connection...
The Wayward's Road
As I stumbled on the pebbled road
I broke a toenail and it left bloodstains
On the humble stones.
“Why did you let me get wounded,” I asked.
A voice from behind the obsequious hills answered,
“I did not,” the voice said reassuringly.
“I desired that you take the...
On the Road To Bethlehem
I knew what I should’ve done,
What most men would do,
Ride the donkey and insist,
That Mary walk, lower than me.
But I knew right from wrong,
And as she was pregnant,
I considered her right for,
The riders position grand.
As I was...
1895- 1932
Friends, my friends,
I do remember.
On the night before leaving to France in 1917
George held my hand.
He held it firmly in his perspiring palm,
Held it and would not relinquish
His gallant grasp. I recall too,
He, taking his left loving index finger
And smoothly, affectionately, precisely,
Stroking...
A Walk In the Park
As  I walk slowly on the soft-hard interlock
pathway lost in thought, as the rays of  sun drum
on my hairless head; the sight of beautiful floral
pattern gives a gentle pat on my disturbed mind;
which sends lovely vibes through my entire body.
The soothing...
Autumn's Breath
As I walk through this colorful boulevard,
cool breeze touches the back of my neck
from the breath of autumn,
breath of life from the nostrils of hope;
I smile at my lady who looks graciously captivating
like the red and pink maples and apples on my left;
this cozy feeling...
