Best Psalms Poems
I sing praises to you under moon's watchful eye
As the ocean waves calm above from the deep
and You transform gusty winds into soft breezes.
With your blessed protection I am able to sleep.
I am bathed in your peaceful tranquility my Lord
As my prayers ascend to your heavenly realm.
You are the Divine master of my wayward boat
as you guide me to shore when you take the helm.
I know you will always send Angel's to rescue me
Should my boat run aground on sharp rocks below.
They will lovingly guard me and see me safely home.
I'll sing psalms in praises dearest Lord, wherever I go.

Paradise Psalms
Island drums midst strewn drafts, echoes,
Involved labyrinths summon by themes,
Some rhapsody erupts, purging rocks,
Every village, swelling amid chants,
Empty huts, crowds around fires,
Swayed hips, held lips sparks,
Duality exposed in harmony,
Illuminates isles inherent,
Entertaining charisma,
Captivating trusting,
Vessels in passing,
Amongst alluring,
Souls escorted,
To a dreamt,
Paradise.
ship swells midst idled
labyrinths heed gifted calls
answers anchored hearts

Is Beethoven's ensemble fairer than nature's psalms?
Amidst a crowning sun: ears and eyes are drugged,
drenched with tender notes, orchestrated by greens,
inhale deep, the aromatic blossoms from the vine
with their lilting swell, brushed shades of fine wine.
Listen, listen to the sudden leap, the vibrato of bird song
or the raucous winds rubbing against house-corners
and the blithering brook carrying tales of who?
As you walk attuned to the crunch of the brown foliage.
When the cobalt skies turn to ash - gray mode,
hear heaven's vault lament, drizzling sobs to loud weeps
when day's face in angst pout or blush beside the beloved.
Feel your feet push or pull deluged by the liquid fingers
of the sea; in whites, they murmur ripples. They tremble
and stir, savor the flavor, a brief interlude:
Nature's power: tones, sharps, curls, pants. It slants
aiming to reach a rest upon blues of sky at its zenith,
The darting patterns curves, verves are diapered
wanting to delight, to wonder, to shock, to soothe.
Deal with your servant according to your love and teach me your decrees
And the Lord said unto me, “Rise above your own despair”
"Offer your soul unto me; I will free you of this Prison cell"
I ask Lord how can this be, “this cell is my home it is all I have left”
As suddenly as flowers bloom in the spring, I was free inside
The tears fell like two giant waterfalls cascading down my face
And the Lord ask of me, “Take pen in hand and seek what you desire”
From inside a Prison cell I was set free within; filled with the Holy Ghost
Page by page I started seeking the truth as fiery tongues filled my pages
Through the Lord a violent inmate was placed in a cell, by his grace
The man who walked out of that cell,” I am Poet, A child of God”

For those concerned of my muse
My red neck proverbs, please don’t refuse,
If those considered to be, of lesser degree,
Could gain confidence in themselves, to see,
Refusing to be put down by some carnal mind,
Thank you! My love in my heart is fine,
Rather! It’s the mind that’s out of line,
For all of life will be set straight,
Before entry into the gate,
Given time, by the settling of the mind,
Although we may think we know,
Given to the mind so,
In our life, if there’s strife,
Will certainly show,
Proof there is in the pudding,
Being a gooden,
If mind wooden, blow so, and show,
Strife, in life so,
If a little toad frog had wings,
Wooden be given to his many flings,
Bumping little buttocks along on the ground,
Butt twood,- be heaven bound!!

Ever once in a while, I write a poem that I feel like, is good enought
to dedicate to someone."Carolyn Devonshire" this your lucky or sad
day, depending upon your own opinion of the poem dedicated!
Your dedication in your comments on poems in Poetry Soup, mine
included, are certainly a source of inspiration to me, as I am sure others.
God Bless you, Sincerely, John Moses Freeman
David was an artist - before you and me
A Jewish psalmist - famous for Ps. 23
Various prayers had been sung, by Moses
In particular, psalm 90: before Time itself
David's God had been our Provider
Showing us faithfulness, generation by generation
Prove me, said David, but with Mercy
LORD, I sin against You when I sin at all
Ever pleaded thus: All sin is rebellion
Against father-creator? He takes sin personally
NOTES: Psalm 51: 11- "Do not cast me from your Presence or take your Holy Spirit from me," cried David. Wash me, and I'll be whiter than snow!
DAVID was restored by God, now called 'a man after God's own heart,' and David became Israel's most beloved king. 'Beloved' is the meaning of David's name, too. Shalom, shalom. Ps.51 is changing me, hallelujah
.
Every word, sentence and paragraph has three main components. Each one has a beginning, a middle, and an ending. On All Poetry there are two groups specializing in brevity. Pure brevity and brevity. Pure brevity can have as a complete poem only one word. Brevity can have more than one. "There is nothing new under the sun." But just supposing the words won't come, and you do not know what to say? What words, or images or memories pop into your head and/or your heart or mind. Use your God given imaginations
You could say," My mind is a complete blank today. I really don't know what to say. I don't know how to think it. I had a thought lingering in my mind for a few brief moments. Than it slipped away like always. Christians can rely upon Jesus Christ and/or the Holy Spirit for inspirational words and topics. There is always the Bible. And there are free on-line books of the Bible on the internet.
Jews can rely upon the Bible as well for background knowledge and/or information. The Bible is really for everyone. When I was younger I used the Old Testament books of the Bible. Psalms and Proverbs. I still draw upon the bottomless well of knowledge, the Holy Bible!
For example I wasn't sure if the correct word was either earth or world. So I used the word earth. I searched the book of Revelations. Only to come up empty. The correct word I needed was world. I made the necessary changes to my Psalm of Victory! The psalm is to be found on my All Poetry website.
Observational poems are based upon experiences either yours or other people. The full white luminous moon lite up the starry nighttime's sky. Famous poets frequently relied upon nature for inspiration. "Poems were made by fools like me but only God can make a tree." I forget her name, but remember one line of her famous poem.
Avoid having things either too short or too long. Depending upon your composition and/or audience. But there are one word, sentence and line poems. Avoid being verbose and using fourteen letter words. Unless it is recommended. Jot down your thoughts, doddle do art work. Whatever works out best for you and your prospective readers. Pray really works!
Love in Christ Jesus!

Abbott Cat
—————————————(Dedicated to our unique cat Gnash)***.
*…..*****….*****…..
Know that Abbott Cat
Had the stride
Of the pure…placing:
Each step forward
With the slightest lift
of the upper ankle
So to set down his
Paws — first the toes,
Then the heels
As ballet dancers do,
In a gait of grace and
Blessed dignity…
Like the passing by
Of an acolyte — we
May nod our heads
In respect and
recognition
of the passing
Cross.
Abbott held, so
It felt, some
Secret knowledge,
Some gems requiring
A very regal posture.
To carry the inner
Cache of
Secrets of heaven;
Some wisdom
His mews
Could not share?
Still, his noble
Carriage and his
mystery held psalms
Giving lyrics to his
Every motion, with
A prefacing instant
Of a weightless rise.
And, Abbott
Welcomed
An open lap
To curl round upon:
His black, furry back’s
Cape and vestment-
muffler tail,
To be stroked
By a gentle hand,
Without precepts…
Over and again,
Like the redeemer’s
Promises, a gracing
Causing Abbott Cat’s
Spirit a wistful smile,
Plus a coded, grateful
Mew…

Thanks be to God
Keep me safe O God,
For in you I take refuge
I said to the Lord:-
“You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing,”
My God, in you my heart rejoices,
You are the life or freedom my soul seeks,
In you O Lord, I find truth, peace, love and life.
Eternity is the air you breathe,
Goodness is what you see.
Lord, in you a life is made whole.
And I lay my life in you
O Lord God of all creation,
You made me to live
But yet you let me live in this world.
Where I am tried and tested with misery,
People turn to their stubborn hearts.
They follow a road that leads to fire
In their own ways they judge others
In ways lit with sin and darkness.
They speak of death as though it were life
And say, “this then is how life should be.”
My heart O Lord is made weary,
For there is so much I lack in this life.
I see a universe of life enveloped in me,
An infinite life beating in the heart of my soul.
With all my senses I can see the error of this life.
It is a lie disguised in a body of flesh and bone.
Whoever listens to this life shall hear,
the dreadful horrors it lays to the soul.
O Lord my God,
You have delighted in me,
You lead and guide me in your ways,
In ways that lead to life everlasting.
I praise you O Lord,
In this life I will praise you,
I will give you all the Glory
For you are the One and Only
True one to speak to me.
You Lord are Eternal,
You are real,
Your Word is true and eternal,
And I have resolved with my mouth
With my heart and with soul.
That you are my God and Savior
You are the life I seek.
Forever I will look up to you,
For you are the Way of life.
With your love, you
love me, with your
strength, you Lord,
Strengthen me
By your living word I am
Given wisdom, faith, and
Knowledge with which to
Guide my ways
I have need of your love
Every moment where sin
Has a chance to enter,
Where worldly lust has
A chance to rise
I need your living word to
Guide my feet, for your word,
Is surely an illuminating
light for my path
For alone, I will fall alone,
I will stumble alone, and
My life would be given into
Worldly sin
Without you, my mind might
seek To do the evil which
might breed in a lustful heart
I cannot stand alone without
Your power, your grace, your
Love, and wisdom to guide me
My bones would become brittle
As a result of sin, and my body
Would become sickly falling prey
To worldly decay
My youthfulness might disappear
Enabling sin to have its way
with me, if you are not near me
I shall age before those who
Are older in years, for I will
Become old and disabled, my eyes
Blind and my hands feeble
I will be lost in the worlds
Darkness, and madness of sin,
If you, my Lord are, not my rock,
my sure foundation…
For only through you can one
Gain eternal life, an eternal
Gift Which shall endure forever
Only in you is paradise found
For your love is the one true
love which inhabits heavens
paradise forever within itself
I have such a great need for you
To be my God, my Lord and my
Master, to supplement me all of
My days spiritually
I beg for the crumbs from your
Table of life, so that my spirit
May have Its hunger filled…
That I may always be a part of you
My master, as you are inside of me
Filling me with your lasting love
So that you will never say to me
Again, If you love me, you will
Do all my commands…
And I will reply gratefully to you
Lord, “I will do as you command and
even more.”
So that when my restoration is made
Complete, you will seat me in the
Presence of my brothers and sisters…
Where together we will praise you, Lord,
Morning, noon, and evening with Joyful
Psalms of praise.
(Written, October 1976)
Oh! All of you blessed children of the Lord.
Sing unto him psalms of mercy and
psalms of Grace. Some day soon,
we shall behold him. In all of
his wonderous glory face to
face.
Oh! Sing unto the Lord new
psalms of mercy and
psalms of love. When
we behold in his
mercy. He shall wipe
away all of our tear drops
from our eyes.
Oh! Sing unto the Lord Most
High. All of you redeemed
saints of the Lord. He
has washed away all
our sins far away from him.
Never again to remember them.
Oh! Sing unto the Lord you
ransomed saints of the Lord
of Glory. By his precious shed
blood on Calvary. He died
and rose again in victory.
In order to set the captives
sinners free.

a
Sunlight pours through the window
Caressing my thoughts so intimately
A gentle whisper of God’s affection
Soothing, illuminating His direction
Rain falls soft on my soul, praying
For the kind rainbow after the storm
Delighting, exciting, raising up hope
For another day, a new way, tomorrow
Roses, lilacs, dandelions too…
Rise up from the earth, nourished
By the light of sun, the rain’s love
Brightening lives with their blooms
Moon, stars, fireflies too…
Bursting through the darkness
Coloring the night in hues of dreams
Silencing the flames of failure and doubt
Robin and wren, butterflies so wild…
Paint the morning in psalms of joy
Inspiration that awakens the mercies
Of laughter sung across the rise of dawn
Dewdrops slide like elastic grace
Across a petal, a leaf, a spider’s web
Imagining the night where it grew to be
The miracle of beauty breathing intimately
Kindness cascades down my life
Inspiring me to believe, to reach out
To give generously and intentionally
With love that showers me with sensitivity
My blessings never cease to be cherished
As treasures for which I am so thankful
God is the best giver and His gifts are
Bigger than any that we might give
His gifts come from the very hope
That awakens His passion for bounteous giving
I’ve never felt so blessed before
And I know each day only brings more
To be thankful for – God is so good!
I need to Thank Him forevermore!
Sing praises to Him
to the Lord most high
for He is worthy
holy is His name
The shepherd prays
cries out to God
in times of need
for peace and rest
Remember
God hears us
He listens
praise Him
now with
psalms

Diminished Hexaverse
Zephaniah 3:17 KJV The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
Grace more abundant
Than words could reveal
Feelings so pure, honest
They color hearts kind
Bring joy and love to mind
Goodness more thoughtful
Than blessings of delight
Glowing so brilliantly
Alive with knowing, insight
Whispers of light shimmering
Psalms praising and playing
On the sun’s soft light
Filling spirits with devotion
Intimacy and inspiration
Amusing the imagination
Prayers of peace and promise
Linger on the palette
Rich with love and kindness
Arousing peace, dancing
With bursts of creativity
God sings , shouts, sends
Blessings we wouldn’t expect
Brilliant, beautiful blessings
Breathed out of God’s own heart
Vibrant, vital and luminous
Faith awakens the assurance
That we have all we need
Miracles we’d never fathom
Wonders so jubilant, dreams
Flowing with milk and honey
Love lingers on those souls
Who know God will complete
Each and every thought – He marvels
In the creation He esteems
His children, His design, His dream
We’re blessed to be kin to the King of Kings!
~~~ Songs My Soul Cried Ended the Psalms of Songs ~~~
Grace was inside my soul, I’d love his grace
Please my grace travel the world, find peace please
Face of darkness of the deep grace did face
Knees freeze and their prayers had no bowed knees
Risks ensnared the soul waiting for life’s risks
Perils times, beliefs lost liar’s perils
Frisk my soul falsehood frolic death did frisk
Morals abandon humanity; dung looted morals
Known and unknown lost all grace they had known
Peace was feared in the world, they hated peace
Alone with lost faith, their soul all alone
Ceased beliefs, lost their twin towers grace ceased
Kiss of hell walked the Earth, souls did kiss
Love healed hearts on the Sabbath that was love
Bliss with no respect, cold souls mingled bliss
Above, joy of life gone; hell now above
Songs my soul cried, ended the psalms of songs
Wrongs unforgiven, no life was dead wrongs.
Fourth Shadow Sonnet – As you can see this does not meet the challenge guidelines in this pen. I added an extra stanza to keep the meaning I wanted to achieve. Please join in if you like; it has to rhyme, 10 syllable count and 14 lines to meet the challenge. However, if you just want to be creative please do. I cannot wait to see what you all are going to write about.
