Yeah,
go ahead stare at my crows feet,
I don't mind
I'm proud of them
earned every one...
broken my back
broken this
broken that
ninety proof patch
thatched hut for a heart
and broken clock soul

Yeah, crows feet, look closely,
there etched in unforgiving-unforgivable
tin miscarriages
cornucopias spilling the seeds of lust
sticky-petty jealousies on a path of forever
the broken flesh of those never born
gouging at the skin around the soul.
You on the other hand
don't have any crows feet
your pallet and brushes are clean.
haven't earned any
haven't buried what you love...
enough
given (it )all to a heart
only to retrieve (it) from the earth
to be put out of it's misery.
you haven't gotten those pixie dusted eyes broken,
but you'll catch up... some day,
its coming
way-way down the tracks...at the empty station,
where nothing breathes but crow prints
in a fragile evening mud-

Lady fair meandering verdant hillside
Tracing amber prints of a night that glimmers
With the vintage lace from a rosy springtime
Breathless her senses.

* Foot Prints On the Heart

A day comes when you know
the many people that have come
and gone have left you with
many foot prints on your heart.

The foot print treads imprinted
deep on the heart of one looking
at life differently through eyes,
open now wide taking everything in.

Eyes, once dark, lost, empty seeing
nothing but the ugliness life once held.
Escaping through the boarded up,
windows sealed with black paint.

Seeing the beauty all around embracing,
all that is seen, soaking it in like a sponge,
when wet holds all that it has soaked in.
releasing only when squeezed out.

The foot prints of the many people who,
have come and gone are the sponges
within her heart, squeezing out only the,
ones which held her captive for so long.

Others, she keeps tucked away within,
remembering all of them who have passed.
Their foot prints impacted on the heart of,
the one now with eyes wide open.

Paw Prints In the Sand

PAW PRINTS IN THE SAND

David Lasaine 2017

When you were alone, I was there.
When the sun rose or set, I was there.
When you faced death, I was there.
When you were sad, I was there.
When the darkest of times happened, I was there.
When you shivered...I was your warmth.
When you cried, I tasted your tears.
When you slept...I protected you.
We shared many wonderful memories, you and me.
We laughed and played together.
I asked not for much: a belly rub and my side scratched.
To be walked a few times a day.
I put my life in your hands to care for me, to feed me...to love me.
I served you with unconditional love and faithfully during my life.
And when I am gone, until we meet in the Spiritual World.
Please do not forget me...I will be waiting for you.

Eternally Yours,
Your Faithful Companion

BEACHED BARE FOOT PRINTS

My foot prints gladly set to the whetted sands as I stand and whiff the seashore
Missed since last year’s southern holiday visit and just as many times before
It is a good old ‘home week’ that the tides welcoming waves shout to me
And I can see the silly sandpipers flit once more as I stand near-bye suddenly
They race the out-tide for banked treats left on the gleaming wet platter to feed
Quickly before the in tide's wallop mounts closer frothing at its mouth with greed
In and out the tide's wave displays its curling white coils with intoxicating joy
Soothing in spirit, yet have very beast-like tomes of 'command call-backs' that decoy
Me into venturing nearer to just wet my sand covered toes and take the dare
It knows I want to become reacquainted with its wet swirling hot-tub fairway fare
That will tickle and caress me and lick me deeper within and underneath its waters keep
Again I will trick the sea and surface surprised and happy to be ducked in its wet deep.

Paw Prints On My Heart

The memories that I have of you
Everyday they flood my mind
You weren't here to long
But long enough to
Leave some really deep paw prints on my heart
The way that you lived your difficult life
How you wanted to be with everyone
Laying on the shoulders or laps
Cuddling up to my chin
The way you were always there when we ate
The sound of your soft meow
The way you cuddled up with me under the covers
It didn't matter
All you wanted was someone to hold you all the time
No matter where I was you were right there with me
Trying to get on me even if I was busy
God, took you way to soon
Now all I have are these memories
They are all in a paw print
So now all is left Is a
Paw print on my heart
It's so deep that it will hurt for the rest of my life

As I sit in dreamy wonder,
watch the world outside my door,
my mind wanders to the time we spent
secretly yearning more
Your hands caressed my body
your soul caressed my heart
your mind made love to me in ways
I never thought would part
but the days grew stormy and dark clouds came
the lightening filled the skies
the thunder growled and boomed overhead
and teardrops filled my eyes
when the storms had passed and you were gone
I knew it for the best,
but your love embedded fingerprints
on this heart inside my chest.

Dogs That Left Faux Paw Prints Extant Within Me Life

lids black out and allow me to write
while eyes shut tight
bring back four legged friends sprite
and though many years passed quite

I can remember those precious creatures
   who barked at night
howling at inaudible sound or invisible light
casting silhouettes that fight

punctured the air with verbal byte
and now I list long gone
smart pets in alphabetical order – alright?

Baron – substantially German Sheppard
met his demise chasing a car on level road
the advantage overtaken
   per vehicle with greater lode
which accidental death
found him buried in an unmarked grave
   i.e. underground abode.

Georgie – a combination Boxer and Dalmatian
(with his cropped tail to boot
grew up as my canine brother
an essentially gave up the ghost
from organ failure of one or another.

Lady – this fur certain white German Sheppard
uncertain how, when or what
led to her body to collapse
perhaps while listening to snoop doggy dog raps
found on base near first stair
when rigor mortis set deathly traps.

Ruff – he and his litter mate Teddy
(listed below), an alpha beast o man’s and
woman’s best friend with moments of rage
as applicable to a dog, and seemed
to evince an intelligence like a sage.

Schultz – he apparently vanished in thin air
without a trace, not e’en
a filament of fur like hair
hopefully taken in by another pet lover,
   but who knows where.

Shadow – pride of eldest sister,
he succumbed after becoming thermally ill
though diminutive for a black lab,
his absence left a void quite large to fill.

Socrates - dealt with harsh mistreatment
   and distemper than tossed out
like trash, mine to sisters,
who nursed him with tender loving care
from his faux paws to a keen snout
which maintained his longevity no doubt.

Teddy – another throw away pet
   found at Jacobsburg –
   near Easton, Pennsylvania.
one lame leg (damaged
   during his puppy hood)
lived til olde age.

   my younger sister ( Shari)
   brought him and Ruff home,
where their entire life he did stay
inherently evincing intelligence
   that happiness found that chance
provided a doting owner this way.

Snow Prints

I love when fresh snow
tells its many tales,
nature on my walk.
Small toes,animals
Mark each tiny spot.

I wonder what made
The mark in the snow?
They came so close,
Walked on my porch.
A print they left me.

Was it a kitty,
A tiny squirrel,
A fox on the run?
I must examine
Each print so distinct.

We're they hungry
Cold and wet,tired
Or just having fun
Running,romping there
Searching for some crumbs.

Was it warmer there
Under the wicker,
Couch on my front porch?
Did it keep you warm?
The trails lead to there.

Some day I will copy
The marks in the snow.
I'm determined to
See what leaves patterns
I just want to know.

Desert Prints

Running
Running fast, running strong
Now I’m
Walking
Walking hard, walking long
Seems like
Forever
That I’ve been going in this place
But it’s never
That my memory’s erased
With thoughts of you
These desert prints
Are holding strong to you

Trying
Trying now to make my way
Now I’m
Taking
Taking time with no delay
Seems like I’m
Falling
In the dry heat of the sun
But it’s never
That I’ll ever come undone
Because it’s true
These thoughts, the prints
They bring me home to you

My desert rose
My cactus flower
Though I am weak
You give me power
You are my water
In this arid land
I will make it there
And beat the sand
Because it’s true
These thoughts, the prints
They bring me home to you

These desert prints
Will be my guide to you

Premium Member Critter Snow Prints

What was it that ravaged last night’s lovely blanket of snow? Something with three toes on one foot and missing one of its very large nails. My god, the size of those back paws! A black bear, no doubt; a midnight, black hole in space, black bear; checking out my trash bin but, there’s no damage. It must not have been very famished or it would have turned my bin into puzzle pieces. Had I been outside I’d have been forced to face the treacherous beast; perhaps I’d be in the hospital now with a half-eaten arm and I do so, hate hospitals. What if it comes while I’m walking my dog? It could eat both of us! A dog that’s lived as long as my Roger doesn’t deserve such a horrific death; how dare a bear devour him! What’s that? It’s him, the bear; why didn’t I buy a gun and learn to shoot? Why don’t I have any bear spray? Perhaps I should’ve added that extra life insurance? There he is, the...oh he’s just a cub, a little fellow...he’s so cute...

Nature’s children are
Quite diverse and we must share
This planet freely.

Foot Prints

Bronze- Walking sands on shore,
breathes in the salty lagoon.
Sullen foot prints died...

The Lord did carry
black and soar feet to skies as
Sea monuments cry.
