Best Poll Poems

Premium Member Poll

A farmer drove into town.
Some posters made him frown.
They said, "Go to the Poll".
He said,"In the pasture below?"
"Right now, they're standing a'chowin'".

(To understand this limerick, you must understand that a polled cow has no horns from birth)

On a Poll

Are you going to tie me up to a poll,
put me in the sky
and give me air like a flag

 or

are you going to let me
love you.

Premium Member The Last Stop

The last breath
The last death
The last phone call
The last fall
The last funeral
The last burial
The last roll
The last poll
The last smile
The last style
The last flight
The last rite
The last crap
The last stop
Alas! Somewhere
There is a last
That we can bear
We need the past
To move on in life
After a barmy gaffe
We weep and we laugh
As we sail solo on the life raft.

Free and Fair Elections

Now, rarer than a virgin
By a very wide margin
And being forced to take Eagle’s flights
From polling stations of Ugly fights.

In many countries
Being hanged on their tallest trees
And given a cause to grip ‘The Rescuing Near’
All the time wearing some bitter tear

Free-and-fair Election
Needs the greater protection
Of Transparent-Election-Promoting pictures
And Political- Sanity-Restoring lectures…
Camera-brandishing foreign observers!
And Democracy’s fiercer preservers!

Inconsolably begins to weep
As the polls draw nearer
It, unfailingly going down the deep
With the manipulations of every flag bearer.

A headache-lot worrying the United States,
When kicked around by other states
But lately her name nearly dragging in the mud,
When her forty-sixth presidential appeared to have gone mad.

Now, why would elections be fair
Covetous Eyes on victory, the snare
Year by year elections
To continue dying in the arms of advance elections?

Not in itself, giver of good governance
When on the cherished seat balances a mere Breathing Thing
With that unleashing a painful endurance of a four-year Administrative Nothing.

Premium Member If we ask most Americans

If one was to poll Americans nation wide
and ask them if they supported apartheid.
Most would defiantly deny and say,
but their our allies..
If we asked most Americans do we need a
wall, to bar people of color from coming here at all?
Should we only let in those that resemble our kin
regardless of the circumstances they are in?
Would we crowd them in ghettos where resources
were lacking but have our government keep on taxing?
What if we made them carry id cards, to police their
travels, and from areas we barred?
If we ask most Americans with our national sense
of pride, why are we still complicit in this Gaze an genocide?

Taking a Poll

After taking a new poll in southern Siam
She locked the papers in a vault, tight as a clam
When they asked her why
She said with a sigh,
"Because a poll vaulter is what I am!"

Leap Year's Poll Vault

Leap Year's "poll" vault
Olympic primary trials
Push-over leaps by party default
others limp away with denials.
Sis boom bah; blah, blah, blah,
"poll'-itics and the media.

I Backed Into the Telephone Poll, Tears Roll, Tears Roll

On an eve in February,
As I placed my gears I peruse
What words I have lying around,
What comes to me so heavily
Is the memory of my old crushed car.

So why did my foot go forward not backward
And why did the flivver slap the old telephone pole,
And throw me against my face.
Just why did I do that,
Just why did Son 2 think he must put down his mighty foot?

I (almost unconsciously) lie against my back,
What is the next step, I am vilified, shattered,
Fingers pointing, she is old as I
How long, how inconvenienced will I be?
How dependent am I, am I?

The Poll That Matters
By Franklin Price
11/6/2018

At last the poll that matters
Has reached its final day
The end of midterm mayhem
When we voters have our say

Pat yourself upon your back
If you already made your choice
Made your mark for who you want
Had your “We the People” voice

If not, be sure you take the time
To get out and vote today
Don't bother later to complain
If you did not have your say

Poll Pit

The unveiling confusion, infirmity,
               the stars align with impunity.
                     To mock with signs
         for seasons maligned in perpetuity.
          The whore gives a peep-showing
                           no integrity, no humility.
The curtain draws open triple x,
                Priestess in bold neon, font
              sirens of the Media Multiplex
         singing, dancing in seductive song.
           Stars of staged and screened.
        Alien dialect, speaking ambiguity,
all Nightmare at Christmas season long.
Oscars Wilde nativity clip clip scene.
Selling vintage vaults in Lots of salt,
               veins of carotid archery,
   Taught high strung looking back,
     strung along by drafts for the daft;
        washed with eros triggering
    nostalgicfibromyocardier celebrity endorsery.

       In Pyrotechnicolor- Fantasia -feastiality.
             **** burns Fairytail obscenity,
                 for Toddlers, infants and Teens.
                Minds in utter solution,
    feeding abreast of endoctrinating ***********
matching the strike of keroscene tik tok meme.

           Hookers-hooking the onlooking hungry
                    for Hunger Games
            in Running Man, Bloodsport Jeans.
