Guardian of the Environment - Indigenous Peoples

For several thousands of years
you upheld the sacredness of Nature
avoiding wanton destruction
of plant and animal life
taking only what you needed
since their sacredness was
just as important to you
as the sacredness of humanity

When harvesting wild rice for food
you let some fall into the water
to produce crops for the future
Surrounding a pack of wild sheep
while hunting in the mountains
you let a male and female escape
so by their reproductive process
they would ensure the
continuation of their species

You saw yourself as part of Nature
living in harmony with it
and not plundering it with greed
Your religion was to respect Nature
viewing all plants and animals
as parts of its magnificent fabric
Abuse of a part of it was
an abuse of the whole

Your way of life
provides valuable lessons
that can teach mankind how
to deal with today's ecological crisis
that threatens the survival
of all life on the planet
You were the genuine
Guardian of the Environment

I have always admired the way of life of the Native American Indians living in harmony with Nature before the advent of the Europeans. By extension, this applies to all indigenous peoples including the Amerindians and Polynesians. This piece is dedicated to them.

The Peoples Servant

THE PEOPLES SERVANT
by
JOHN M. ARRIBAS

He was here today promised pie in the sky
But we’ll soon discover its just another lie
They’ll say anything that to them is a plus
But once they are in they make fools of us
They need our vote to get elected
First order of business get re elected

They don’t need our money for the campaign
They get it from those who have something to gain
A freshman representative from any state
May have intentions that to him are great
But when the established seniors get his ear
They’ll guide and instruct and make it clear

That when he needs help or financial aid
He wont qualify til he joins the parade
The parade of voting for unworthy pork
These projects are like eating soup with a fork
The laws they pass affect you and me
But they’re exempt, their perks are free

I question why we continue give foreign aid
To tyrants and despots, makes me afraid
That some of those funds may surely bounce
From the tyrants hands to secret accounts
They pass out flyers at county fairs
After two terms they’ve become millionaires

If things get dull and their attention slips
They plan exotic fact finding trips
Those trips would cost a fortune for you and me
The trips are on us and to them totally free
They come home and host a town meeting
Take a look at who’s in the front row seating

Peoples servant(2)

But the best of all is a fund raising event
Where the affluent givers use money well spent
Backing a candidate is a system well tested
It yields great returns on the money invested
Once they’re established with one term or two
Hard to unseat them the special interest is glue

These are best described as serial politicians
The facts or a lie is part of their renditions
They support their lives at the public’s expense
Taking firm positions on both sides of the fence
They have little to fear, bullet proof by far
If they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar

Their own will reject them from left and right
None of them want to be in the public light
If he is found guilty after numerous trials
You will find his clone fully prepped in the aisles

Peoples Peace Day

April the second to be called "peoples peace day".
From Joe
April the second an international holiday, called peoples peace day.
The second of April as its the day after 'April fools day' I think the world populace
have been fools long enough to the cause and effect of wars.'
I would like all who agree to leave
a short message on Joes blog
I wish you all out there the very best,
want to hear from you and want to add; I know we can succeed ..'

A poetical essay by Percy Bysshe Shelley,
I stumbled across this by accident Don, it would make
a great read on any April the second holiday.' keep well mate..

Millions to fight compell'd, to fight or die
In mangled heaps on War's red altar lie . . .
When the legal murders swell the lists of pride;
When glory's views the titled idiot guide
Percy Bysshe Shelley

A sad truth for the mongrel aloof,
yet to die in vain is the matter,
make it a matter of pride? oh forsooth?
The Somme had the bones, yes to scatter,
Don Johnson
Thank you Joe Maverick, apologies to Percy Bysshe Shelly.

Peoples Lives

Some people preach that 'Truth - in Might'
By living their lives in strict adherence to that idea;
But I would say – that needs redressing
And be widely propagated that ‘Might in Truth’ -
Ways more appropriate expression.

Other Peoples Pictures

Friends are on vacation;
They’re sending lots of pics.
So nice of them to share their trip -
Just takes a few quick clicks.

We’re staying close to home, though;
No travel plans for now -
Perhaps a drive to visit pals,
If schedules allow.

In prior years we traveled
In the states or overseas,
So other people’s pictures
Do not readily appease.

"To take what they've got
We must kill the lot
And our God has shown us the way!"

oh it could of been
the armored car,
or it could of been
the gun,
instead it was the Germans
that's were it all begun,

CHORUS
,
banks in gambling money,
they ignored
the peoples plea ,
sold off the Irish
 human rights,
to protect their dignity,
the government
our christian rights,
as they moved
the vatican out
jobs now ten a penny ,
this reward
is what we got

,CHORUS

tax there is on everything ,
down to air we breathe,
sick they lie
on trolleys,
as in poor
St Vincent helps them out,
oh leave us
a little on the bone,
as our children
are our future,
ohh whats this bloody nonsense
taxes on our shite ,
as we all struggle hard
in life,

CHORUS

we are the fighting irish,
who fought hard
to keep invaders out,
now tax
the ruling government
with wages way to high,
bring back the armoured car ,
and the f---ing gun
the land of saints and scholars ,
thats were i am from,

we are the servants
of the rich,
who get very little pay
all we get is cuts and more
they gamble
each and every day

CHORUS

When I was young I couldn’t wait to go outside and play
when school was not in session on Christopher Columbus Day.

We were taught all the stories…how he sailed the ocean blue
with the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria…in 1492.

We were taught he was a great explorer, across the oceans his boats swirled.
We were taught this Italian man who sailed for Spain discovered our new world.

He’s such a navigation hero our history books proclaim
that cities across this nation are christened in his name.

He’s been given the ultimate accolade…banks are closed and children play
as we commemorate Christopher Columbus with his very own holiday...

But then a strange thing happened, we found the history books were skewed
and we weren’t ready for the things we read or the feelings that ensued.

It seems this new world theory comes with a little hitch
Columbus wasn’t looking for America he just wanted to get rich.

He thought he’d sail to Asia when he left Spain that fateful day
but he was wrong about the route and America got in the way.

It was in the Caribbean not America where Columbus made landfall.
The fact is…he never landed on or visited America at all.

About his claim of discovering a new world…it’s a very misleading stat
I think the Native Americans might have something to say about that.

Because if I’m not mistaken they were here many years before
Christopher Columbus accidentally bumped into their shore.

And would a man who we’ve been taught was courageous, great and brave
kill the people who were already here or turn them into slaves?

Would we still look at Columbus Day with as much innocence and pride
If we knew how he decimated a people and committed genocide?

No, I think it’s time we stop giving Columbus so much dignity and glory
and teach our children while they’re in school…both sides of the story.

Perhaps then all of America will commemorate and cheer
those who really discovered our country…
you know, the ones who were already here.

So the next generation of children will be excited to go outside and play
when their school is not in session on Indigenous People’s Day.

Pakistan, Paraguay, Papua, Philippines, Poland - Pray For P Peoples, Countries, Territories

LORD, I humbly greet Thee who got me up, gifted me another DAY
God in THREE PERSONS: Father, Son, Spirit, I love Thee as YOU first loved me
I have a prayer list, and "P" countries, for YOU Creator, Sustainer, HEALER
Yet, "adoration" is the FIRST STEP (one way to PRAY) using "A-C-T-S"
The letters, not the word, "A" for adoring Him, God IS (Love) & LORD of lords
The "C" is for confession of sins. Then "T"hanksgiving and "S"upplication
I intercede, Abba-Father, for peoples in LOCKDOWN - quarantine as The virus
Called the common "Corona," a "garland" with aura, but what a CRISIS

Fear is everywhere, we rebuke it in Jesus' name, to Him we are most dear
Bless the global family, islands to former empires - in this Crisis together
Today, especially for P nations, states, territories in the UN ("first" is PALAU)
LORD the needs are so many, & there are "occupied" territories, even by UN
Help patient Panama & Philippines, proud Poland, Portugal, Paraguay, Pakistan
I learn from Jesus, Love & forgive, before offense. Pray for all His Creation

Shalom, shalOM, AUM, salaam, peace, pace, paz, vrede, eirene, shanthi Om!
NOTE: I have not structured this form with iambic feet or any other meter. I found this form suits my faith in Jesus as LORD, closest to how I feel: SONnet

I Woulld Restore My Peoples

I WOULD RESTORE MY PEOPLES

If money was no issue and I could buy and restore anything...

I would buy back; the freedom, Identity, cultures, artifacts, and land of my people!

I would restore our land to everything we need to once again be the great and Independent Nations we once were.

I would buy back the education of our past, present, and great futures that lie before us, here and there after.

I would buy back the truth of our existence, reveal the lies that have kept us captive, Say goodby to those who still perceive themselves as the Masters and sing a sigh of freedom while starring at the depiction of a New World Plantation from a distance.

If money was no issue and I could buy and restore anything...

I WOULD RESTORE MY PEOPLES
