Premium Member I Saw God, but Now What

Line of inquiry:
“Yes, I affirm, I have seen God
But He appeared and then disappeared
This knowing that transcends mind, left me awed
But until what’s imbibed is assimilated, by fears I’m seared”

Once I felt the power of God
It seeped into me like lightning,
Illumining the track it traversed
It settled somewhere down,
Within the vibrations of light and sound.
In my heart a delectable music swelled.
My life was deluged with song.
His guiding light led me through devious paths.

When was it that I lost connection with that power?
It happened gradually without my knowing
In course of time, it got veiled and eclipsed,
By the darkness of worldly desires.
I was caught in life’s swift current.
Wishing to stay afloat, l drifted,
Into the midst of peripheral comforts,
Like one chasing the deceiving mirage of the desert

My ego bloated like a balloon
I walked on stilts that I forgot the feel of my feet
I felt the stream of love narrowing into a trickle
And then drying out completely.

I was busy making money
In my mad rush after power and pelf,
I threw my values to the wind
Soon storms began raging into my life.
I was befriending gnawing anxieties and strangulating fears.
My dreams shattered like glassware
My world lost its rhythm and I lost my calm.
Life seemed to go on, leaving me behind
Never more I could endure the desolation
That hovered over my me like a dark shroud
Like a mother's despondency at the loss of her child,
An emptiness enveloped my spirit and being.

I knew it was not too late,
To recover all that I lost.
I decided to trace my steps backward,
And travel in reverse gear.

In all earnestness, I turned my downcast eyes heavenward
Soon I started breathing with greater ease
I began getting healed in love’s gentleness
Binding me to God through an unshakable bond

Like sunlight arching through the dark
Once more He came into my life to light my interiors
Now he resides within me, not at the periphery as earlier,
But deep down as a living power, changeless and timeless!

Premium Member Indifference

I heard this on television
One-line of a narration
One-line so plain and simple
It filled me with expectation

The words quoted
I wish I had wrote
A-line that resonated
Bringing understanding and hope

I never thought Evil existed
I thought things
Were either Good or Bad
Evil I resisted

Then as I became older
Things started to go awry
The realization that Evil
Is always standing by

Ready to attack the vulnerable
Or give a helping hand
To any of their followers
With their Narcissistic plans

I've wandered off, as I often do
From the line of the narrator
This is only my point of view
I am just a spectator

The opposite of LOVE
Is not Hate, INDIFFERENCE was the quote
What an interesting concept
We all should take note

INDIFFERENT people have no feelings
For anyone but self
Interest means INVOLVEMENT!
And sharing their precious PELF!

This does not make EVIL
Any better or worse
They are both deplorable
Both share the same SATANIC CURSE!

EVIL causes devastation and FEAR!
It's TANGIBLE, at times you think you can
SMELL, TASTE and HEAR
It's PRESENCE ever near

EVIL creates feelings
Palpable and real
Narcissistic people are INDIFFERENT
To how other people FEEL

Premium Member A New Year's Prayer

Well, here I am again, Lord, a-knockin' on Your door,
With a prayer of thanksgivin' and a few entreaties to implore.
Lord, I thank You for sustainin' me along life's rocky road,
And for the blessin's upon this undeservin' soul You've bestowed!

For this comin' year, I pray not for an accumulation of pelf,
But for good health for my family, neighbors and myself.
May the things I do this year bring honor and glory to You,
And may I heed Your guidance in ever'thing I do.

I pray for peace that the world may be free from strife,
And that humankind will refine its sense of respect for life.
Protect our soldiers, those gallant souls so brave and strong.
I pray they'll be reunited with kin, at home where they belong!

I pray for our leaders and the myriad of challenges they face.
May they serve the people with honor, integrity and grace.
My plea is that the nation's respect for You will be restored,
For 'tis said, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord!"

Lord, I pray for those who are hungry, homeless and depressed,
The lonely, ailing, hopeless and those who are oppressed.
For Your steadfast love and answer to prayer I have no doubt.
Seems I'm always pesterin' You, but thanks for hearin' me out!

A New Hope Shown By Anna Hazare In India

For more details, please see my Blog dated 7th April 11
'In India, a new Revolution is in the offing'

A New Hope shown by Anna Hazare in India

A new torch is there in your hands, dear Anna Hazare*,
A torch by which you are waking up the souls
Of millions and millions of our sleeping citizens.

To wake up and to remove the curses created by many of our
Corrupt bureaucrats and down to earth polluted politicians,
Such people inspire only directly or indirectly in my country
Violence, crime, corruption, and greedy coalitions.

No words are sufficient to thank you, O soldier of Gandhi,
As by non-violence, only Gandhi wanted to change the society.

God has given you an opportunity to do something,
O bold soldier
Several hundred thousands are standing with you and
Millions would join your campaign for removing the curse of corruption,
Effecting our country and many countries of the world,
All these are the result of ever-increasing greed and misdeeds of many such bureaucrats and politicians,
Such people are ruining many countries of the world by their
Ever increasing lustful temptations for money and greed for power and pelf.

In an era when the world is facing its new Renaissance of knowledge and awakening,
We salute your guts and efforts to bring a wind of change in my country.

Just keep walking with the torch of courage and hopes you have lighted,
As millions and millions more are waiting to join your efforts or
Waiting to start a campaign like this in every country,
As all the nations of the world are facing the tortures created by unworthy bureaucrats
and politicians.
Keep the torch high to light up the nation with a new light,
Our dear soldier Anna Hazare.

Premium Member Country Veterinarian

The old country vet traversed Henry County over hill and dell.

He was a familiar sight in his buggy pulled by his horse, old Nelly Bell!

He served farmers and ranchers for nigh on two generations,

Deliverin' calves, foals and lambs and performin' tricky operations.

He left the comfort of his bed on many a cold and blustery night,

To help a cow deliver her calf by the mellow glow of a lantern light.

He'd been kicked by cantankerous mules and butted by grumpy goats;

Spat upon by numerous llamas and trampled by chargin' shoats;

Bitten by mean old junkyard dogs and clawed by feral cats;

Gored by irate bulls and pestered by stingin' gnats!

He witnessed the miracle of birth durin' his practice of many years,

And won the confidence of his clients and the esteem of his peers.

Though he had some book learnin' he mostly taught himself.

He never aspired to become rich and had little of the world's pelf.

He recognized that God created all creatures great and small,

And suffered the hazards of the job to treat and love them all!

Meditation On Maundy Thursday

When little you have to live for and far,
When righteousness your own for little counts,
Knocked down and bruised and battered when you are,
 When your wasted shadow forever haunts;
When rites and rituals robbed are of magic,
 Piety, pilgrimage, notso might please,
Belaboured worship loses all logic,
 Divine grace seems to gasp for last of lease;
Keen when you are to off-load your old self,
To fill life’s vacuum with divine presence,
Too keen to leave behind all power and pelf,
 And heart craves for an unending silence;

Ready thence you’re to embrace divine bliss,
To fill your life with fullness that is His.

Togetherness - An Octave -Triolet

Dactylic Hexameter

My love for family I do not hide or set high on a wooden shelf.
Baubles of life are here having a jot influence over a rime of things.
One hawks a sweeter enticement diverting us like a small candy elf.
Placed in a closet of my heart it offers now no threat to inner self.
Booty that makes us rich seems a bit ornament gaining a shoddy pelf.
Family time is togetherness knowing the pleasures it often brings.
We talk but nothing unusual like blue and white on ceramic delf.
Time for a lady and children as husbands sit talking as royal kings.

This is a letter I should've written to you many years ago,
To express my love and affection - so much to you I owe!
Alas, I didn't tell you I loved you enough, that I'll ever rue;
The things I want to tell you now are so very long overdue.

Thanks for all the pain you suffered just to give me breath,
And that time you prayed for me when I was nearing death.
I shall always remember your sweet and tender smile;
Your words of encouragement have made my life worthwhile.

I treasure the many times you shared your faith with me,
Especially hearing about Jesus' love as I sat upon your knee.
Tho' at times I rebelled at attending Church and Sunday School,
I'm so thankful that your taught me to follow the Golden Rule.

Mom I treasure many precious memories growing up as a lad.
I know the Great Depression sapped the resources of you and Dad.
You sacrificed so much to see that we kids were schooled, fed and clad,
And thanks to you, the good times far out-weighed the bad!

Tho' we had little worldly pelf, there was abundant love suffice;
When I faced Y's in the road, you always offered sage advice.
Tho' the time with your loved ones was, Oh, so very fleet,
I know that you have found well-earned peace sitting at Jesus' feet!

Lonesome Pirate

All by me scurvy seafarin’ self
Me pouch be empty; nicked o' pelf
th' curvy wench tha' warmed me berth
lef' nary one ol' farrrthing's worth

On cap'n's orders bin swabbin' decks
seekin' sawder, spit-lickin' specks
afore ebb-tide 'til high neap-tide
but nary me own scurvy hide

In me head me digs and delves
me gums a-flappin' ter theirselves
in skew tongue of 'em sea-borne folk
lament me cravin' fer a toke

Nowt else ter savour; embrace th' drum
seek solace in th' wretched rum
toxin me liver 'n toss overboard
th' gloom yer absence in me wrought

The Confession

I did that!!!
I stabled the child
In his chaste, and kill his dreams
While he wanted help

I saw his pain flew
Before the wick act of mine
Felt his field of pain

I could help him from
His savage time under woe
But I show no love

I could make a spark
Of light made a difference
But I was too sloth

He wailed with strong pain
That I myself felt his wounds
But I was still numb

He was a gold child
‘Cause of his youth or future
Of change, the oil o’ it

I should help him ‘cause
In my times, I was in his
Place, and eke hurt

I had all to help
Him, but I ignored him.
It was my dark eyes…

Whatever his pains
Were, I had the hands of pelf
For I show no clack

Thus, he died under
My sight indirectly for
People, but me – no!

The Life In the Mirror

I still wonder the life and the meaning of it
The reason why I belong here...
The struggle, the humiliation
And the pain of smiling when tears are yet to fall.
Walking in the shadows of fear
I still wonder the life
Why little happiness is the sign of tears.
A little achievement is the struggle for pelf
And when I am done
They make me a king for a day
Yet tomorrow comes with a new challenge
And when I ask myself looking at the mirror
It has got nothing to say.

I still wonder the life and the existence of it
When they look at me with arrogance
And expectations pouring with fake complimentses
Greetings with roses turns out to be feces.
Cowering if am left with a penny today
The blood that I shed and the bruises and the scars
They see the same in me
Yet the same damn people put me down.
Running along side of self-discovery
I fear the loss of self-recovery
And when I think I can face the challenge
I look myself at the mirror with some motivation
Still it reflects me back the same collages.

I still wonder the life and the dedication towards it
For I am yet to concieve the love that it gives
And when it gave it paved me a path with hurdles
My long allegiance turned out to be a long malevolence.
Waking up to feel if I am left for today
And the morning moans with yester-days
Drowning endlessly by a single tear.
I worry not to loose my grip
And I looked myself once again at the mirror
It is not me then...
He is the person whose persuasion counts most then
Such a splendor all around me
So much to see and so much to do
For he is with me to clear up to the end
If I make the person in the mirror my friend.

Premium Member Treasures of Your Soul

I have little of this world's pelf,
But there is one thing I pride in myself.
I have a family that I deeply treasure.
My love for them is beyond all measure!

Some folks take pride in material goods,
And live in upscale neighborhoods.
I am happy to live a simple life,
With a dear, caring and loving wife!

Other folks take pride to show their fancy abode.
The mortgage I'm quite sure is a terrible load!
I take more pride showing a crib so simple,
Where our slumbering babes display cute dimple!

To further add to my treasure account,
I have grandkids 'til I've almost lost count!
Even great grandkids, can you believe,
Adding more love for the family to cleave!

I would cede all treasure on this earth,
To have family gathered about my hearth,
Exchanging "I love yous" and fond embraces,
And seeing sweet smiles spread upon their faces!

A Lioness In the Lair

She looked at the other side
of herself
The ferocious face that everyone would hide
she looked at her other book on the shelf
So brave she is , her world is wide
the hidden things within are her power and pelf
A lioness in the royal liar, she lied
untamed , untidy and this is the best of her side
small it is, as if she is haunted by a wild elf
A wall it is, unseen and from the snide
world outside; she would eternally hide

A Father's Legendary

A FATHER'S LEGENDARY :

Spirit of love is staged in this superman,
Who never gives up until a good deal is done.
He is the source of giftings production,
Who soundly nurtures his children,
By placing the entire family on satisfaction.
Regards the needs of every member with pride.
In the world of craziness I was born into,
This man has been a real gemstone.
He has always been of great spectrum...
For the construction of my self-discipline.

As a child with folly bounded in my heart,
He cleared it always as fast,
Whenever he sights a fall of it's pinch.
And words from his mouth purges a nag,
Based on a specimen intent
Obliterates all spiritual and physical issues,
Through hardwork and Ruth.
Which makes his family so proud.
Humbly play's the duties of his spouse,
When she's far away from home.
He virtually set matters straight with hope,
Even as we're now on our own.

A real ethicist on earth...
Accessed to be admired best,
Who selflessly places his family first.
And buys advance education for us,
"The future of my children is my legacy",
A citation he usually says to himself.
He gets us deemed with efficacy,
Advises us not to undergo a pelf.
He's an illustrious and a humble legend,
Whose legacies depicts his worth.

GOD bless every good father at the other side.
