Clustered cactus trees sprawling, reclining in the summer heat
where agile pollinators dart among gorgeous silky blooms.
Day by day the prickly pear fruit swell and mature.
Already the mind conjures visions of red,
magenta, pink, yellow and white.

thriving on spring rain
deep-rooted fantasy
mellifluent desires

Experience has shown that the best...

I had a naughty dream and dreamt of pears
Looked away but I couldn't help my stares
It was at my local beach
She was way out of my reach
A topless lady without any cares...

*Peaches, Pineapples, and Pears*

Peaches, pineapples and pears
chilled, topped over my angel food.
This helps to sweeten my sour mood,
this, my secret love affair.

I cut them into little squares
drain, contain, and later drink the juice.
Peaches, pineapples, and pears
chilled, topped over my angel...

Put Away the Pears
I tried to have conversation
But they screamed me out of focus
They left me no attention span
By the use of hocus pocus

Oasis is double sag
We see them on display
We want to practice tasting them
Though these **** are not for play

They light up someone’s evening
And they can...

I recall when my son went to grow his first mustache.
After the manly thrill, of shaving once a week had passed.

He'd spend an hour in the bath, gelling hair so straight up it would stick.
Then he'd come down to breakfast, strutting his upper lip.

I tried...

(Glorified Pear Honey)

The lowly pear,
no zip, no burn.
Major juice, anemic flavor.

Add orange and lemon for bite.
Grind all to blend.

Add sugar for sweetness,
cook, covered, in 200 degree oven,
eight or more hours,
as you sleep.

Upon awakening,
add maraschino for color,
seal in sterilized jars,
store in pantry.

Pear Honey
on morning toast,
grants...

Bradford pear colored with burgundy
Standing in my neighbor's yard
You're full fluffy hair offers a dandy
Hideaway, for all the birds in this bard

I know that I saw a Robin
Nibbling on one of you're pears
He was a great dancer, bobbin
Eating all your delicious fare

Then the magical Blue...

Pears and Lilies
Across the cold concrete steps
Are strewn pears and lilies

A very long time ago
A grave tragedy occurred here

No one saw anything
No one said a word

Dark spirits now protect the site
Somber, powerful memories still remain

At the corner of forever
Out on the edge of time

Where something means everything
But...

Pears
Autumn blooming with colour,
From Nature’s palette of
Copper and gold.
Large leaves lying still,
Damp and mouldy, in this late sun.

Pears slowly ripening,
In harvest’s jamboree.
Pinkish tinged, speckled,
They lie heavy with camouflage,
Ripe for the pot.

Skinned, their crystalline beauty
Cannot be held too long.
Their life is done, long before
Winter’s...

Autumn Song

Winter's edge begins to cull
our lovely pregnant aching Autumn
swollen with Summer fruit
and wild wind-sown berries of the Spring.

Sun-drunk pears,
startling all the wild amazed birds,
leap through frosted air
like rainbows, yellow red and gold.

To spread their final sunburst
over chill-threatened Earth.
Autumn is almost more than we can...

To you my love I do propose
Cursory couplets to compose.
What sort of short verse would you hear
In short iambic rhyme my dear:
Coupled couplets in a couplet?
Coupled cutlets in a couplet?
Or perhaps a brace of bears bare?
Perhaps a pair of pears to pare?
Surely none,...
