Best Past Lives Poems
Last night my sister died
One week before the Winter Solstice.
My father was worried about her jewelry.
He, one of my other sisters and me,
went to the hospital because he wanted
the three rings frozen on her fingers.
The rings like the circle of life
may have powers to bring her back.
They were taken from another dead women
her mother who died more than one year.
My father would not leave the emergency
room until he got those rings.
The woman helping him
was too nervous to enter the morgue.
But like Nephthys she went in the underworld
Cold dark place where my sister's body
lay in state.
My father blamed himself
for not taking the rings off
when she died.
But when he like Osiris
was given two rings by a women.
He was the ringmaster of a three ring circus.
He came to life, he was clowning, telling jokes.
Maybe the rings have the power to bring back life.
At her funeral there she lay in state,
no rings,
no life,
cold and still dead.
My father was wearing ten rings,
crying maybe cause he lost his powers.
Like Cronus his eldest son was a no show.
One drunkard said my father's daughter died in his arms,
Or maybe the rings have lost their power to
bring back the beloved dead.
Incarnation and a better life,
Has always been a human strife,
Strange curiosity to excavate,
Living cool present, yet divagate,
Since age of three I yearned to fly,
Little sweet cuckoo I always spied,
Melody of voice I could imitate,
As an echo I could reciprocate ,
Birth of life, dying getting revived,
Closer look to soul came much alive,
I declared dead as life belied,
Watched dear ones in deep disguise,
Made me introspect, what's horoscope ?
A friend took me to a teller's grove,
He then showed me leaves of Bhrigu Samhita,
Three consecutive births on leaf of my chakra,
Mine and my parents' name to my surprise,
Centuries before how could he ever write ,
All was true, as if just for me to apprise,
Unbelievable a cuckoo in past, am I wise ?
Bygone are the precious past lives,
No bees, no honey, just empty hives,
History sometimes the best teacher ,
Can evolve into a top preacher !
Based on real personal happening.

* Maharishi Bhrigu in Treta yuga during Vedic period prepared a unique astrological horoscope where every human , born at any point of time - past, present or future can find his chakra according to date, time, place of birth.
And a collection of his such leaves is known as Samhita ( Hindi word means collection)
So Bhrigu Samhita has all of us with our past and future lives !
And of course present too , Infact it starts with present !
Rotating Door
(M J Halliday 20140623)
I stepped through the rotating door,
To be born in a nameless land.
Recycled again, like before...
A soul as ageless as the sand.
No one escapes mortality.
I stepped through the rotating door.
Spent the next life in a city
Among the disenfranchised poor.
The next few lives were marred by war;
Civilizations rose and fell.
I stepped through the rotating door.
A General said "War is Hell".
This time around, I can recall
Glimpses of what happened before.
In broad contexts, this life seems small.
I stepped through the rotating door.
PAST LIVES
Oh, what might I have been?
Get the Ouija board, the planchette
Exhort the spirits of Cayce and MacLaine
Take a float through the baffling arcane
The past must suit male fancy
“Madam Zolta consult thy crystal clairvoyant
Bring forth those vaporous hosts
The filmy, the whispering, shapeless ghosts”
I yearn to hear some lordly title
Her quartz then flares, receding to shade
“Well, madam, be he of humble or regal fame?
Ego falters now, but give me his name”
So faint now that after breath
Seems to tremble Zolta’s damson drapes
And slowly in the middle half-sphere
Does an almost human face appear
The mouth is that first takes clear form
Those tissue lips in upward curve
Zolta’s chamber sudden quiet as a tomb
A perfumed vapor haunts the room
“I am that which once you were,”
Escapes the quivering gossamer line.
“And I the single past life you’ll see
A dainty, silly Scotch lass – tee hee”
I smiled when I woke from my dreams
Vanquished is the dark tormentor
My dreamscape has refreshed, it seems
And the nightmares cannot enter
From Native American brave
To a mystery woman’s grave
In past-life regressions, I’ve learned
Not to be overly concerned
When I woke from my dreams, I smiled
The dark tormentor is vanquished
It seems my dreamscape has refreshed
No entry now for the nightmares
And those things I’m learning right now
Will help in the future somehow

PAST LIVES
By Mark Miller © 11/12/2016
Marching boots upon unspoken graves,
As Censor taunts intrinsic states
Fleeing the dusk fear panic
To covet are ready many facade-.
Fallen past through people driven hosts,
Who file mechanical figure holes
Coffee Coffin breaks bewildered illusion
Of empty cubic selves lying deception
For hubris stance feeds apathy
In the living struggle pride
For the whole man's passage walks
With dust and flakes by eye's of a stranger
I was Indiana, riding with rifle pointing ahead,
then Cassanova, lost count of how many in my bed,
as Sitting Bull, I looked down directing my braves,
I passed under an arch, giving one of Cleopatra's waves.
Tried to change history - it wasn't Custer's last stand,
as Columbus, I called America India, got mixed up with the land,
we couldn't have Captain Cook murdered by a bunch of savages,
Moses didn't take any tablets - just lots of stone pages.
We knew that Nelson was gay when he said: 'Kiss me Hardy,'
and Napoleon was shunted off to St. Helena reluctantly,
I prevented 'The Maid of Orle'ans' from being burnt at the stake,
Fagin asked me to pick pockets - it was more than I could take.
Then back to the beginning - maybe Tutenkamen would do,
which exotic personage could you emulate if it was you?
I believe that in another life
a famous singer was what I had been
learning no voice I had gave me strife
this became apparent in my early teen
The flat out of tune caterwauling
instead of sweet pure notes
had both me and family cringing
only my lover on me singing dotes
I shed many tears as I needed to sing
my talking voice is dulcet like honey
in despair I tried to find something
poetry fills the gap with verses lovely
Now when I walk out onto the stage
I spin words that soar out like notes
as musical tunes in stories I now wage
my voice fills the room and music floats

contest Past Lives
Raindrops dropping out,
Sea sank below golden sand,
Ashes of water.
One of my past lives appeared without warning
I was so handsome she without reservation
DAYLIGHT!
(or was it a dream?)
A prince of Egypt
Just as the ouija board said
In the museum come face to face with myself
palest white
but nicely wrapped
Met myself one day while walking through the woods
I stopped looked at me my wild eyes rolling around
and then
I wet on a tree
Oh to be reborn and another crack at things
Prahbupada says "You would be a tiger
the way you snarf those burgers"
Oh it's such nonsense!
She claims to leave her body
float around upstairs
where she meets old Uncle Ned
long dead old Ned
patting her soft silken head
I looked back
At my footprints
Then took a picture
To remember
The last time
I ever looked back
Merman in a tide pool
Mermaid of my mind
Gallup me unicorn
Center my centaur
Mysticism in myth
Is it real?
Not now, but maybe before
Once a unicorn
Today I canter
Towards my destiny
Now a maiden
Washing her hate away
In the waves
Roll me tight, ocean ******
Salvation is in your frolic
Saturate my satin bodice
Salt me in your water
I, in your liquid folds
You, Mother Ocean an envelope
of movement
Crade me to serenity
Soul Journeys
My dreams as a young girl, of a man,
A lover who gently strokes my soft skin,
A great longing from my past for the future,
Sometimes so overwhelming with the sadness of loss.
My life journey and destiny already in place,
As I search once again in this new lifetime.
We came together again at long last.
The strong connection from our past,
Our spirits strangely intertwined.
Perhaps another time, another century.
Life choices made in our separate lives
Eventually leading us down the same path.
After awhile, I see you struggling
With demons you’ve brought from lives apart.
That soul is not yours, not the lover I knew
So long ago in that other life.
You have a history you cannot explain,
Destroying the happiness we again had gained.
What happened, I question, where have you been?
In those lives so long ago?
My soulmate, my lover, come to my arms.
I will push out those demons which hang over you.
We can’t wait another lifetime for this true love.
But the demons overpower the man I once knew
And I’m left alone once again,
As my love slips away.
Perhaps in the next life, we will soar once again,
Searching.......
Never satisfied until we reconnect.
Only we will know when that day comes,
Life choices with others never quite right.
What is the lesson for this time in my life?
I ask.....
As I coast in today’s space and time.
In a land far far away,
In between time and space,
I see you for the first time,
I notice your eyes, those beautiful eyes,
The grace with which you move,
I will always remember that about you.
The bus jars me awake.
As I leave, you look up.
Our eyes meet I feel the desire,
As if you pierced my heart.
You walk up to me, lightly touching me on my arm,
Sending pulses to my heart.
In a whisper, you tell me,
I remember everything about you,
In the lives, we've shared.
I smile as we share a kiss releasing,
Me from my slumber of the many centuries.
I look into your eyes saying,
"How could I ever forget you?"
Sayonara, Arrivederci, Shalom, Aloha, they all mean the same thing, Right?
or
Not?
It depends....
And whether you're experiencing "Jamais vu"
Or "Deja vu"- you will of course, have
a different reaction.
Emotions run the gamut--
that seems to be the attraction,
but underneath the skin, the veins
it's in your blood,
your DNA,
there's an imperceptible something,
absolutely something there
-ReaL-
you can't replicate it in a laboratory,
But it informs You: Who you really
Are.
