Lessons From Past Lives -- Ct

I smiled when I woke from my dreams
Vanquished is the dark tormentor
My dreamscape has refreshed, it seems
And the nightmares cannot enter

From Native American brave
To a mystery woman’s grave
In past-life regressions, I’ve learned
Not to be overly concerned

When I woke from my dreams, I smiled
The dark tormentor is vanquished
It seems my dreamscape has refreshed
No entry now for the nightmares

And those things I’m learning right now
Will help in the future somehow

Hello my dear friend, Carolyn. As usual you have penned another gem! Lessons will be leaned everyday, great thoughts. I apologize for not explaining the rules for my contest well enough, it seems like quite a few poets have written as you did. But the last stanza was a little off from my example. Anyway, so sorry about the confusion and Congratulations on your placement. I hope you are doing well...Hugs Charlie xx

Carolyn, this is beautiful, superb poetry - not familiar with the style either but as a poem it is creative, and wonderful - well penned my dear friend. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

I've never seen a charonnet before and I like the theme you chose here. Most important thing is we always learn as everyday is a lesson .

If I only knew then, what I know now - and the way the closing lines echo of times yet to come, very inspiring and comforting -

Hello Carolyn ... we can't change history, just do our best not to repeat it, so how we act now will in the future become history. I did enjoy reading your poem Carolyn - Lindsay
