Best Ord Poems
And I witness
Your deplorable “glory”
Hunching over my tattered spine,
So we can have something in common
You walk with glorified shell-shock,
Another sentient tongue,
Straddling on the Eros of vindication
Your sandpaper hands
Reach for an assaulted tenderness
Embracing lambasted lyric
Another tenor’s proclamation
That their oxidized octaves
Are legitimately sound
…
Nobody is listening.
…
So, you try to rectify your ill-erect
Compass
Only heading south
Bound
By meandering prophecies,
Unwritten
Undeclared
Just another pre-historic fool
Believing the Jamaican grass is greener on
The other side
Puff your corrupted beliefs
Toward laundered Benjamins
While I soak in the bloodied joy,
That I remain priceless
…
Approach me
While you suffer tiny warden syndrome
In High Definition
Be the insignificant syllable that
Becomes, you, a fragmented figment
Of your re-imagination
Call in your slobbering pinchers and
Convince them why dethroning my smile
Will be that change you conspire,
Because I stood taller than the arrogant
Umbilical c(h)ord that breastfeeds your high horse
For I am you
I am you
Every kick, every punch, every verbal attack
Every overcompensating, born-again glare
You blasphemously portray
But, it is not me you scar.
IT IS NOT ME THAT YOU SCAR!
…
Your one-night stand with perception
Succumbs your third-eye
Keep drinking from your bloodied, rustic w(h)ine glass,
As you drown in your declarations of dependence
Screaming to be louder than love
Louder than your ordained intentions
To become a speck of importance
To be worth something,
Something more,
Than the lunging foot you believe
Will keep me down

David was an artist - before you and me
A Jewish psalmist - famous for Ps. 23
Various prayers had been sung, by Moses
In particular, psalm 90: before Time itself
David's God had been our Provider
Showing us faithfulness, generation by generation
Prove me, said David, but with Mercy
LORD, I sin against You when I sin at all
Ever pleaded thus: All sin is rebellion
Against father-creator? He takes sin personally
NOTES: Psalm 51: 11- "Do not cast me from your Presence or take your Holy Spirit from me," cried David. Wash me, and I'll be whiter than snow!
DAVID was restored by God, now called 'a man after God's own heart,' and David became Israel's most beloved king. 'Beloved' is the meaning of David's name, too. Shalom, shalom. Ps.51 is changing me, hallelujah

That’s how she saw me
A lying jerk
Filled with mal-intent
And inebriated twist of the devil’s tongue
She removed my smile
My patience
My need for her
She was a professor
with a Masters Degree in Investigative Drama
Drinking shots of animosity and scorn
From half-empty glass
Layered in a syllable abused tint
Sucking accountability, dry
She removed my smile
My patience
My want for her
Vials of sadness
Broken over mattress
Where I entered her
Into innocence realm
She begged for more
She begged me to stay
But, I was already marked from argument’s first revelation
Because even when I held her hand
Even when I welcomed her into my arms
After being beaten for being her diamond ring’s shadow
Even when I brought her closer to peace
It wouldn’t ever be enough
My smallest mistakes would become Armageddon’s cry
My apologies
The tissue
She removed my smile
My patience
My trust for her
Because I
Was a piece of crap
An irregular painting titled: “The Bad Guy”
Messages of sangre coated angst
Going to wrong number
Her errors
Still made me see her as a precious woman
Waiting to regain her peace
Her identity
But I
Was a liar
A screw up
Our finish line had no ribbons
For she had already cut my c(h)ord
Silence
Cold shoulder
My only way to hold this peace
She thought she could leave me
But I
Was already gone
Her tears’ contempt made me let go
Fears’ discontent helped me confirm my Western sunsets
To
Fly
Fly
High
Fly
HIGH
For serenity’s wing behooves me to sway
Towards these winds of change
Solace will hold me on palm
As I wish with final prayer
That Karma
Goes easy on her

A Victim of the war
*
Steve L. Siegel

Once there lived a fine young city boy,
once so brave, true and Restless, filled with
energy And somewhat foolish too He went to join
the US Army Adventure filled his mind He knew that
for a soldier's life, all of this he was destined.
He did his training in a camp at Ft. Ord Calif.
Than on to Ft Benning GA, home of the jump school.
Where he became a member of the 101 First Airborne
Oh, man did he ever wear those silver jump wings proud
and the Wings of the 101 First, Screaming Eagles.
He did not know it at the time, but maybe he did,
for he was destiny was Vietnam.
They stole his feelings, taught him how to kill
and walk those jungle trails And taught him
that the enemy were the evil men
Then he went off to fight a war that he might not
of believed in but the call went out, now
he'll serve his country's need; just as his dad
had done in the last great war.
Now the old young man of what was,
Only now he's a shell of a man,
A victim of the war now too.
He can't seem to find himself in this world.
His own nation has turned against him,
the nightmares never seem to go away.
His next door neighbor that he knew forever
called him a baby-killer. Don't that beat all?
Now he is on his fourth marriage, and they wonder
why he can not stay put, his wife wonders why
she end up going to bed alone most nights?
It's because he has to make sure that
everything is in place before
he goes to bed; Yes,
It's hell being a Victim of the damn war...
For my bother who was killed in May of 68 and
myself who I think sometimes part of me died
at Albany with the 120 brothers of mine who
did answer the roll call the next day in Oct of 65.
ALL THE HEARTS OF MAN BELONG TO GOD
All the hearts of man
Belong to God and
Cicrumspects
Doing ones best
Evolving nothing less
For in His will, God’s will
God wants everyone to be healed
Heaven helps us all
In beneath our crawls
Jesus is the man
King of all these lands
Lord of Lords heaven and earth
Merciful, true and kind
Never ending banter
Oimpotent defender
Praise we shall be giving forever and ever

God with His grace*
Reaches down to me
Assuring His presence
Compassion-braced
Enriching my spirit.
Word of the Lord
Opens to me grace-wonders
Rejuvenating faith with
Treasures of divine wisdom
Helpful for blessed service.

Lord of my life is God Who reigns with majesty
Ordering my steps toward eternal grandeur
Restraining me from temptations’ infirmity
Driving me, as by His grace-filled faith, I endure!
Optimized power for servant's heart He does grant
Fortitude He bestows to me, His called steward
Mercy and love He pours, making me jubilant
Yielded gladly am I to Him, now and onward!
Life with my Master is blissfully the greatest
In Him, I can surpass every test's turbulence
Forever He deserves my thanks and praises' best
Exalting His name I’ll do by His providence!

Lord of my life is God*, granting me genuine liberty
Endowing me blessings to share and give earnestly
Imparting to me divine nature of spiritual impact
Loving me so much; guiding me through His leading
Assured am I of His presence, affirmatively available.
Lifter of my soul --- Jesus Christ deserves my loyalty
Almighty is He, my breath-Source and faith’s Author

Satisfying my spirit with His abundant sustenance

Affirmed with His goodness, I am grateful to Him always.

It didn't take long
every manager there
tried signing both men.
Looking out for there
interest, calling making
arrangements. Both men
were advised of what
they were getting involved
With. They choose a manager
and signed the contract.
A meddling Scooter Bainez
Came down and involved
himself, told both men
He looked forward to weaseling
his way into contention, and told
whoever lost should be made to
leave; cause didn't feel like hearing
no whiney helper licking his wounds
like a whiny brat!
The match went on.
