Best My Kids Poems

Driving My Kids Crazy

Driving my kids crazy
Every day and night
Because my mind is hazy
Nothing comes out right

Still, I keep on teaching
The foggy lessons in my head
At the end of all my preaching
There's but one thing said

"I know what you are saying...
You said that yesterday."
In their heads their praying
I will go away

Still, they do consult me
When they are truly stuck
But, if I get to wordy
They'll be out of luck

The message will start hazing
From their doe-eyed sight
This act starts with a glazing
Of eyes and face and light

I see their minds have left me
They are waiting out their time
And if, they ignore me
It is a small crime

I know my kids all love me
And I feel just the same
Still I hope they'd all agree
In this there's no blame

And so I may keep yapping
Each and every day
But If disaster's tapping
I'll be on the way

I just want to guide my kids
Not drive them away
As I watch them roll those lids
I see the end of day

Okay, I'll be quiet now
No more torture, pain, or strife
And if, you'll just show me how
I'll go e-mail my wife

There are people in your life who will help to make you strong.
The ones that are dead weight, well they simply don’t belong.
We are entitled to our rights, never take it on the chin.
It might be time to clean that porch, so let the sweeping now begin.

Ignorance can be bliss, if you’re not the one who’s under fire.
Color should never matter, nor should your sexual desire.
If you choose to harm my child, in my heart you will be dead.
That is my final answer, I’ve already made my bed.

My youngest son is gay and he makes me very proud!
I’ll stand on any rooftop and shout that very loud.
If you judge a person by their character and the content of their heart.
There would never be a line to draw that keeps us all apart.

I love this brave young man who is my youngest son.
He is the brother of my oldest boy and they’ve kept us on the run.
I couldn’t be any prouder, of the men they are today.
I love you both with all my heart and it will always be that way!

Broken Hearted

Feeling so broken hearted
Over wanting them near
We should never have parted
They should be right here
To continue what we started
Our first days I hold so dear
In my heart, broken hearted
Until together, forever near.

I'M Sorry-A Poem For My Kids-Jani, Billy, Josh, and Kristin

I'm sorry to all of my children
How I wish I could go back to change
The wrong things I've put you all through
And to make time rearrange
Those times to good moments for all of you
I'm sorry for what my life, fears and screw ups have put all four of you through
I simply rolled with what those fears handed me
Yes I so should've done more
And not just let it be
I was so scared and didn't really know what to do
When you're standing inside a house with the rook on fire
Well you, in that moment, are to blind to see
What's happening all around
Now I see it all to clearly and the fire is burning everything down to the ground
I'm sorry I wasn't there for you like I should've been
There's no excuse for it
Those wounds you now bear may not ever mend
And I live with that everyday
But that doesn't mean the love that I feel
For each one of you isn't real
It most certainly is
I'm not asking any of you to forgive me or accept my apology
But know that this all comes from my heart
Pain and rage will tear ones soul apart
And none of these words will make the past different, go away or any better
We do still have a chance, however, to overcome it and get through the stormy
weather together
Being better people in the end
So while this don't make my mistakes you bear go away
I still need to say
You can hate me more and more everyday
If that's what is helping you to get by and cope
But no matter how much hate you have for me, I still love all four of you
unconditionally
Perhaps one day you can each find it in your hearts to forgive me
Not for me, but for yourselves cause it's truly the only way you'll ever fully be able to
move on........Love Mom

As a Parent I Want My Kids To Serve God

As A Parent, I Want My Kids to Serve God!

As a parent, I’m trying the best that I can….
Though there are things that I don’t understand!

I remember my parents teaching me right and wrong.
And taught that God’s laws certainly belong!

I’ve tried to share these values with my kids too…
The choices they’ve made, and the things they do!

When situations in life, seem to have changed…
I know that my heavenly father remains the same!

I think about what in life, to my kids, I have given…
And pray they’ll serve God all the days they’re livin’!

Even though I’ve failed and stumbled along the way…
I hope I’ve taught my kids
how important it is to pray!

This family that God gave to me,
has grown over a period of time.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to call them “mine.”

I pray they’ll seek God’s guidance!
Wherever they go!
May the word of God strengthen
and nourish their soul!

And as my kids get older, and they move out on their own…
May they seek God’s love and protection over their home!

I pray that my children will give God their very best!
May they serve him daily! And let him take care of the rest!

I’m trying my best, as a parent, to trust Jesus and believe!
His goodness, in our lives, is what we need to achieve!

Premium Member I Was Playing Thunderbirds With My Kids and Forgot What Thunderbird 3 Was, So Asked the Lifeguard

he was unaware
wolf
which was disappointing
never attempt to move or donkey punch
the empire state building

ten years of planning
ten years of shrooms
ended with puppets
and strings like cave cheese
and shreddies

we were alone in the pool
the lifeguard looked like
satan's gumdrop

layered like pie
and like a puppet on a string
junk socks and dutch rowboats
i told reception it was my first time at this pool

i was told i could use my token for the locker
i told reception again it was my first time at this pool

an overchlorinated swimming hole

Counting My Kids

6 beating hearts,
both loyal and true.
belonging to only,
my 4 and my 2.

12 eyes see my soul
1 trust from the start
1 000 000 memories
6 smiles touch my heart

8 years of cuddles
and countless to come
Inisde 48 fingers
and 12 little thumbs

stomping stampeding from
12 little feet
laughter explodes between
200 teeth

6 gorgeous heads
sporting 1 button nose
each with their own share
of 6 and 0 toes

no number to measure
all the joy that i gain
only 1 way to fix it
start counting again

Time With My Kids

Time With My Kids

By: J. Philip Harris

The air smells good here
Better than I’ve ever known
I stop a little while longer and
Let the sweet smell linger stronger

All the eyes that look my way
As if they call to me to say,
“Here I am, Papa.”

I love the sound of little words,
In here they only come in thirds.
I love the way they make the noise
Even when there are no toys.

I love their little fingertips
And all the messy bathroom trips.
I see the writing on the wall
And find it hard to see it fall.

I love the Panda and how she talks.
And the Owl and how she walks.
I love the Whale with his sad eyes.
And the Lion’s dapper guise.
I love the Monkey and her cheese.
And Elliot the Dragon’s sneeze.

I love the sleep I do not get.
But cherish more the moments
When I get to hold them close.

I stop a little while more
And revel in the dirty floor
The never-ending laundry pile
The leaving home that takes a while.

I breathe right in the chaos days
Wishing they would only stay.
I’m quite aware of how time flies
And, soon I’ll have to say goodbye.

I just wish that time stood still
And sat upon my windowsill
Where always I could take it down and
Spend it with my kids.

Premium Member Both My Kids Have Birthdays Next Month

Is weird to be born
in society thinks is the
greatest ever and for good reasons.

I was being breast-fed when my mom heard the news
of JFK
She remembers, I don't.

I don't member RFK either or even
MLK, but what I will tell ya
is forty odd years later doesn't ring true
that all three were
“random acts of violence”

We gotta get smart, people
trust our own brains 'cause I tell ya
what slave-owners don't want ya to know

Long as ya buy in to brown-nose ass kissin' consumption
you're riskin' your kids future and furthermore
the half-life for super-powers is about two-hundred
years, ask greece and rome
turkey, egypt, great brittain and so on

just sayin' think on it please
that's all.

My Kids Left Me Here

My kids left me here

Looking out the window while
Tears run down my face
Seems like years have passed
Many, Many days
I stare at the photo on
The dresser by my bed
Empty on the inside
Feeling like I’m dead

I know I am old, and
Feeling sorry for myself
There is pain in loneliness
And sorrow in death
This is not my home I
Don’t belong in this place
My kids left me here
Because of my age

They say I get in the way and
The burden of me goes deep
When I drop things
 I never pick it up
And their kids can never sleep
I scrub floors, worked my
Fingers to the bone
Trying to put them through school
And give them a decent home

A lady came to visit one day
I still know not her name
She said: where is your family
Is the reason still the same?
Seem like you haven’t had a visitor
In a long, long time
Things look worse to you
But believe me, it’s fine

My kids left me here, ten years ago
Why they left me here
I really want to know
I did my best to raise them well
Where they are now, only
God can tell
I got a letter from my daughter
Almost five years this day
She ramble on about her happiness
But nothing else to say

Why did they leave me
In this place call home
For ten years now I
Have been left alone
How can you put away someone
You say that you love
How can you leave them
Unhappy in this world

Will I see my kids again
Before it’s too late
Will I be able to picture their face
Before I walk through Heaven Gates
I will always hold them close
In my heart so dear
The only thing I know: is
That my kids left me here

Premium Member What I Told My Kids

I told my kids when they were young
That education was its own reward.

That its primary purpose was not
To get a great job or to become wealthy.

When seeing a very special table setting,
My kids asked who would be coming to dinner.

That's when I told them that they were the
Special ones, and that we would no longer be

Reserving the best table settings for others.
When I dared to admit to my two boys that I

Was unhappy about what I had achieved in life,
They corrected me by reminding me of how they

Saw it. Hearing what they heard and how they
Saw it changed my way of thinking about myself.

I remember having 4 heroes, 3 of which have
Passed on. Last year I was reminded that there

Were 3 other heroes that I had not considered.
After consideration, I determined to write my

Daughter and 2 sons. I informed them that they
were my heroes, and told them the reason why.

Premium Member My Kids Are Not Like Me

I learned to add, subtract, multiply and divide,
And always followed the teacher's directions.
My kids solve complex problems collaboratively,
  And make unshakeable lifetime connections.

So, I did as I was told
til I was 40 years old,
  'Stayed in my place,'
and wasted the 'best years of my life;'

While my kids try new things;
They take chances and risks.
With a network of friends to support them,
and the confidence to recover from setbacks
         mighty quick!

My Kids

My house is quiet,
kids have gone to sleep.
Don't want to make a sound,
as time to myself is now a treat.

I can hear my clock ticking,
the t.v playing music.
My fridge is also grunting,
my phone i will not use it.

As much as i love,
all three kids of mine.
There all ganging up on me,
But these walls i will not climb.

It's three against one,
and that's not really fair.
I'm waiting for the day,
when i get my first grey hair.

Premium Member Twelve Things My Kids Should Know

1. Trust is wonderful, but don’t be blind. Be wary, for predators exist.
2. As long as what you want is attainable somehow – persist, persist, persist.
3. Ever be grateful for your life and the gifts God gave to you.
4. Do your best, but don’t feel guilty if you fail; just do all you can do.
5. Don’t hold things in. With loved ones - talk things through.
6. Remember no one’s perfect. We can’t always cheerful be.
7. With things that make you feel discomfort, you ought not agree!
8. Be pleasant, respectful, and polite, but to yourself stay true.
9. Remember good things that you’ve been taught, especially to be kind.
10. To those not like yourself, however, keep an open mind.
11. Life’s three L’s are learn, laugh and love.
12.Fear not death; life’s length is but an eye-blink compared to heaven above.
