Best Milkshake Poems
Smooth and creamy
Oh, so dreamy
sugar sweet what a wonderful treat
chocolate, vanilla, strawberry so moist
what an endless choice
small, medium or large with a spoon or a straw
Add nuts or candy
or even a little brandy
syrup, whip cream I feel like a queen
No crown on top
but a cherry hits the spot
slurping all the way down my smile is now a frown.
3/28/2015 T Reams Contest Sponsored by: Nette Onclaud 'Poems that did not place'
Sorry I can't remember what contest I had this in. It's been awhile.
A fine meal we had this evening
Somehow though it was not fufiling
My mind keeps slipping over to the Dairy Queen
Holding a frozen chocolate milkshake taste sensation
Sensual and creamy with a sweet decadence
Offered in four flavors for the exotic pallet's satisfaction
The calories hold me in pause, will power stand fast
Keys jingle hand on the door knob.....
Choco' lota ecstasy!!
Varoom varoom!!
sheep run
at the sound of an earthquake
i finish my milkshake
I am an extraordinary dairy man,
I really give that milk a shake,
I whir it on my mixer,
I think you should partake.
I have such scrumptious flavours,
I'll put a dob of ice-cream in,
Your taste buds will go ballistic,
Just as soon as you begin.
There you go, drink it up,
Well, what did you think of that?
I think it tastes so very nice,
But, will it make me fat?

A malted made without the malt
You may think a mistake,
But take a sip - it still tastes great
Though now it's called a shake.
A real one, though, comes with a tin
Directly from the shaker,
A second glass-worth sitting there,
A present from the maker.
You slurp it down, so cool and sweet
And when your straw hits air,
You pour a refill from the tin,
So calmly waiting there.
There's nothing like a milkshake
When you're really in the mood -
A splurge, a treat, a pure delight
And better than most food!
I made him a milkshake for breakfast
he slurped it up
wiped his mouth
left the glass and green straw on the table
I glanced at it all day long
not wanting to put it away again
until I had his laughter
to replace it
I fell into my morning bed
the tears turned my sheets blue
the bed couldn’t stand the quake
my sister made a quick streak
for my mom…she was the balm
i hurt all over…it was over
had it even started?
infatuation indistinguishable
from real love…I didn’t know yet
the midnight shift
sifting the hours, as i served
muffins and milkshakes
stunned…i had not the boldness
nor the madness, yet the vision
of iced cold toxic milk
thrown into the ho’s chest
would have been icing on the cruel night
she’d shone up with my puppy
I didn’t love but i didn’t know it then
(say’n this with a southern accent
makes this so much sweeter) but
i was an upstater, a New York date
my sister made a quick streak
for my mom…she was the balm
if’n i hurt now, i lean on the next best thing
muffins and milkshakes
an ice cold toxic milk
to get rid of the ilk
truly this guy wasn’t the greatest
though he shared the name of a president
not present…guys don’t know how to break
up and girls ignore guys in the worst way
i know…i did that once
i saw said guy a year later (not the heartbreaker)
he said if i ever broke up with my husband call him
he wanted me to go out the next night - i agreed
and did NOT…we all break hearts, and keep,
hopefully, our real lives straight

It used to be served, a long time ago,
In a big metallic cup,
With soda glasses into which
You’d pour and drink it up.
Today, though, just one plastic glass
Was placed in front of me,
But it was tall and filled way up,
As fresh as it could be.
A cold vanilla milkshake, such a
Great way to indulge!
As long as it’s occasional,
There’ll be no belly bulge.
I savored every silky sip
I took between my fries.
To all you health freaks, I suggest
You try one on for size.
