I Made Him a Milkshake

I made him a milkshake for breakfast
he slurped it up
wiped his mouth
left the glass and green straw on the table

I glanced at it all day long
not wanting to put it away again
until I had his laughter
to replace it

Aww! This is so sweet! Does free verse never rhyme, or can it be both? Sorry! I just want to absorb all I can, and you just seem to write so many different forms, you seem perfect to learn from! Thank you!

I think if there is rhyme it's not predictable...no "rhyme scheme." Like you I am fairly new and have been experimenting with different forms. (soupmail)
