Premium Member - I Died a Little Inside - a Sad Bluebell Story -

A windswept bluebell I am
even though the sun is high in the sky
The wind ruffled the hair
my skin would slowly freeze like mosaic
Want to paint the picture with beautiful thoughts
but difficult to find the rainbow

Tears, so many tears
my heart ripped apart
The pain took a different form
Your sobbing lungs needed a new life

Lung cancer with spread to the lymphs
You were so weak, like a bluebell in the wind
Suddenly it is not a matter of course to get old anymore
Death did not come abruptly or surprisingly
But it was quite overwhelming when it became a reality

Tears, so many tears
my heart ripped apart
I died a little inside
although I will always carry you in my heart

The blue lights are gone now
I have chosen a place near the coast
You loved this place
No exhaust smell or busy people
In the natural cycle your ashes will be spread in the wind

While the birds flying towards the horizon
Nothing can fill the emptiness I feel
From life to death, the road is so short
Rest in peace, I loved you dearly

Tears, so many tears
my heart ripped apart
A simple bluebell is left alone
The clock chimes inaudibly

Theory of Devolution

I am a pacifist I despise war.
It’s the only thing I actually hate.
I’m never able to brace myself for
Diplomacy that deteriorates:
Recriminating dialogue amuck
That results in irrationality.
Adults become intellectual schmucks
Whose mentality in reality
Is equivalent to a chimpanzee
In spite of our advances in science.
Our mentality still swings from the trees
Where once apish self’s had claimed provenance.
We haven’t evolved from our ancient source
Thus war is likely a matter of course.

Premium Member In Loving Memory

I strolled through the local cemetery the other day
And here are some epitaphs I observed along the way:

Cletus O'Toole lies herein
Too much boozing done him in!

Here lies a gambler molding in his crypt
Odds are he was shot by a chump he had gyped!

His spouse spotted him leaving a house of ill repute
In short order she done him in during a heated dispute!

Clyde raced down the mountain and failed to swerve
Meeting his doom on an S-shaped curve!

His plea to the judge was ruled to be moot
He was sentenced to hang for fencing some loot!

Buckaroo Bob was throwed from his horse
And was buried with his boots on as a matter of course!

The town ruffian was our late friend Keith
He met his match and was interred sans his teeth!

Pilot Pete's final radio message was, "Oh! Shoot!"
Seems he forgot to don his parachute!

Farrier Fred was a premier cobbler as a general rule
Alas, he was kicked in the head by an unruly mule!

Butcher Bruce was expert at wielding his knife
But in a fatal spat he was out-wielded by his wife!

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

The Bill of Duties, Part I

You have a right to speak your mind freely,
and express what’s important to you,
you have a duty to make your words sincere,
and do what you must to speak the truth.
Also to protect those who would speak out,
even if with them you do not agree,
because if you try to silence them
then you’re a hand-maiden of tyranny.

You have a right to worship what you will,
to believe the dictates of your conscience,
and not to let this be taken by folks
who claim that your morals only offend.
To never spread what you are thinking
by resorting to harsh methods of force,
and to resist those who would do it to you,
live-and-let-live, as a matter of course.

You have a right to assemble, protest,
to demand redress for the powerful,
to remember no right is optional,
but those in government do wish to full,
and that your protest must respect others,
since they also have a claim to this right,
and should the oppression continue on,
you may have a duty to go and fight.

You have a right to keep and bear weapons,
to defend your life with great lethality,
you have a duty to own a weapon,
to understand it’s use in entirety,
to never us it unless there is no choice,
since a weapon only has one purpose,
to know when to use it, and if that time comes
to understand what happens when you miss.

You have a right to possess property,
to control all the fruits of your labor,
and a duty to respect the hard work
shown by the property of your neighbor.
To not let the success others have earned
drive you to a covetous jealousy,
to understand that all civilization
is based on people using their property...

CONCLUDES IN PART II.

Premium Member Angry Earth

The power we now witness is only the start
An angry earth she is, her tectonic plates in depart
Seconds later they again meet with abrasive force
The reaction to the action is just a matter of course

Crustal deformation from the abyss of her deep
For she'll care not for, the thousands who will weep
Translucent displacement in furious rise
The energies are now released that will swamp victims cries

Substantial volumes gather at a tremendous rate
No care for our future or the disaster it will create
Whilst out at sea we can can't determine the size
For we will feel the anger as she forcefully applies

Sirens now sounded, on the horizon it's been sighted
Evacuation to the listening, the unheard will be blighted
As it now approaches the shore, wave shoaling compresses the wave
It's speed now slowed down, we now await what it craves

Like a silent assassin it's now ready to pounce
No prisoners it will take as it lands in thunderous trounce
Smashing and crashing as it collects in it's wake
No care for the living or it's material take

The gathering of debris amidst gas mains that erupt
Power lines and buildings feel her anger so abrupt
Losses of many are now caught up in this sadness
From she angry earth, or has she entered madness

Premium Member If You Could See In Me

If you could see, the inside of me
What would you view, that you would want to see
For inside of me for any given year
Is loaded with music, it's my driven steer

Whether it's Rock with Deep Purple
Or Wish You Were Here with Pink Floyd
Inside my head
Music fills my brain void

Karnataka to Mostly Autumn
Thin Lizzy through the years
That's the way it is by Bruce Hornsby
His keyboard play brings my tears

But I can be rough and ready
And tank up the amps
Coloured Blind by Skin
Leaves me racially in thanks

Whole Lotta Love
Should be out there in force
Music should be in us
It's a matter of course

Close your eyes to the melody
Hey! it's the Moody Blues
When they played Red Rock
What gem would you choose

To answer your question
What has the past year brought
Another year of learning
Air guitar sought

Apart from seeing my kids prosper
Music avenue is my world
And watch them grow into their tomorrows
I have so much to be heard

Daddy, Where Do Unicorns Come From

Well son...

It all began in Fairyland
In the lab of the mystical toads
As trash throughout the land had gotten way out of hand
Along side of the pixie dust roads

The system they had wasn't working
Leaving empty all the garbage cans
And everyone of the Fairies backs were hurting
Bending over picking all of the trash

In an off the wall guess Teddy Toad thought of this
Something the Fairies all liked
A horn on a horse as a matter of course
Then the trash men could go along for the ride

So they took a horse and Duct taped a horn
Cause we all know Duct tape works wonders
But it never fit right in its slip and its slide
In the taping of over and under

Science soon prevailed in the cell from the horn of a cow
Mixing it up with one from a horse
Purely by accident they just happened to chance
Upon what is now the Unicorn

Who's very first job was giving litter a nod
In helping to keep the streets clean
But before too long the Unicorn evolved
In the preforming of different activities

From the up turn of nose in sneezing rainbows
In the prettiest of sunny weather
To giving kids rides as they grew wings to fly
The ones mixed with birds of a feather

Or the burping of clouds when they opened their mouths
That only know how to rain Skittles
That sometimes floods the streets in candy knee deep
Running sugar sweet straight down the middle

So if you're ever confused on how Unicorns were first used
Or had any doubt to how they came about
You can set your mind at ease
You now know they were created because Fairies all hated
Bending over picking trash off the streets

Goodnight son, sweet dreams...

Unwelcome Guests

It feels like they've been here forever,
How long isn't easy to tell.
They claim they arrived from Australia
but I think they came here from hell.

The cats all left home for a fortnight
the fleas on the dog did the same
The washing machine thinks it's having a fit
but maybe it's me that's to blame.

I should have known just what would happen
my house would not be my own,
but instead, I said "Treat the place just like it's yours"
"Please make yourself feel at home".

I wonder if their house has multiple showers
and loo rolls that never run out
I wonder if their house resembles a bomb site
I'll hopefully never find out.

They changed my routines as a matter of course
and I didn't have any say
They made me feel awkward and sometimes as if
it was me that got in the way.

Some gratitude might have helped matters
a 'Thank you' or two would have done
But never a hint from either
they were even having fun.

So now they are gone and the place is my own,
doors are not locked anymore
and if in the future they wish to return
I won't even open the door!

Free Cee This Is About the First Bush Handing a F Cked Up War

A DEMONIC DEMOCRACY

“We interrupt regularly scheduled programming to present the President”……
And yet he just keeps talking
No verbiage can he espouse that I would ever care to hear
While all I see is smoke and a lot of fragile mirrors

Besides, he’s interrupting “The Price Is Right”
And the only redeeming value of this entire exercise in futility is that there are no commercials
But then again, when will I have time to grab a snack?
But then again, this is one show I can leave for ten minutes
And know precisely what has happened
Which is much of nothing

Inquirers ask about bombs, terrorists and terror on the other side of the globe
As his words defile the robe he dons with vanity and the devaluation of veracity
And the honesty he dodges like the soldiers ducking bullets
in the god forsaken place he ordered them with authority and impunity to
An acrid and arid area where deserts breed dishonesty
While lies about a misguided agenda vie with reality
And insult the reporters who flank him in awareness
Glancing sideways at the way he jousts with injustice
As he stands there with an icy stare daring indifference
And a shrug of the shoulders our country rests upon
And yet, he just keeps talking

They interrupted my favorite game show for a show of force
Or, more appropriately, a show of farce
And his cognizant awareness of fairness is sparse
While he reveals himself with a condescending attitude by a man with no conscience
And no viable discipline that he can ascribe to righteousness
His is a partisan program wherein donkeys have a tug of war with elephants
And in the end the rope will finally snap before a winner is declared
Nor is bloodiness spared
Because no one really wins when mutual loss is a matter of course
And there are no benefits to a battle fought in silence
Where too many people remain mute as their enemies follow suit
As secrets slay the demon in democracy
And yet he just keeps talking……
“We now return you to regularly scheduled programming”

                                    God created the earth
                                    everything has a logic
                                    A gorgeous place, but
                            affected by blameworthy choice

                                       Lend us clean air
                                       its touch so light
                               Breathe... the lungs satisfied
                                         a gift so dear

                                  Life-giving water stream
                                       You fill your glass

                              Several different water qualities

                                      The red fire blazes
                                           is it for love
                                          or is it hate ?

Premium Member What's the Matter

Have you heard all the science chatter
That the future is not made of matter
I don’t mean to detract
But as a matter of fact
That all they found is ‘doesn’t matter’

It’s a matter of life and death they said
But the crux of the matter, it’s all in their head
Coz the matter at hand
‘Doesn’t matter’ can’t stand
If its nothingness, then they’d all be dead

But as a matter of course they’ll leave truth behind
Due to the future that they think they’ll find
But when their theory splatters
They’ll ask ‘what’s the matter’
Which they’ll realize in a matter of time

I was told that it’s no laughing matter
And ‘doesn’t matter’, is not antimatter
Truth can’t be sacrificed
No matter how it’s sliced
Coz mind over matter is all that matters

'Tis fascinating to read epitaphs that upon stones are etched;

Some are rather appealing, some are tragic, others a bit far-fetched!

'Neath this stone lie at peace a husband and his wife
She a Republican-He a Democrat-both now free of strife

Here rests Bruno Snipes the founder of our fair city
He slipped on a banana peel and died-Oh what a pity

Lion trainer Dave was brave and famed
'Til he met Leo who refused to be tamed

Uncle Bob died so young and we wondered why
Seems he tried to drink Canada Dry

The plane's controls Pilot Horace failed to recoup
Alas he spun out doing a double outside loop

Cowpoke Hank should've known as a matter of course
That it was futile to borrow a judge's horse

Here sleeps Senator Claghorn the wiliest politico around
He was so crooked they screwed him in the ground

Here lies the prolific Chief Many Papoose
Who with brave's wives played fancy and loose

She met her doom as over the cliff she did traverse
Instead of shifting to drive she shifted to reverse

Cowboy Pete was so bow-legged from riding his horse
That he lies in a double-wide coffin as a matter of course

The Outlaw's Angel, Part Ii

...Burke grabbed Aura and they both ran out,
riding double on his trusty horse.
The word raced quickly through the town,
a posse was formed, as a matter of course.
So Burke pushed his mount, more and more.
They couldn’t go back, despite acts justified,
not when two men, one a sherriff, had died.

So they rode, pursuers hot on their trail,
until they reach a ranch high the peaks.
Burke pulled a gun while Aurelia seized
a new horse, both study and sleek.
The rancher fumed, too angry to speak.
Burke apologized, gave him all his gold,
then sped off again into mountains cold.

Two days passed, the posse drew close,
and both their horses started to flag.
No longer able to outrun their hunters,
Burke mad camp high up in a crag,
where he could shoot safely if they attacked.
The posse appeared in the meadow below,
lead the by the sherriff’s oldest, known as Milo.

“Surrendor now, or we’ll shoot you down!”
They shouted it as they stared to climb.
But before Burke could even open his mouth
the air exploded with shrill, Indian cries.
A horde of Bannocks their arrows let fly!
They swept into the meadow, circling fast.
The posse died quickly, not long could they last.

Burke and Aurelia hid low in the rocks
until the last of the Bannocks had left.
Not much was left of the posse below,
they lay still, and were mostly scalpless.
But one figured crawled amongst the dead.
Burke climbed down, still clutching his gun,
and loomed over the sheriff's bloodied son.

“You won’t believe me, but I’ll say it now,
I acted only out of self-defense.
You’re father and Grisby were gunning for me,
and Grisby was putting his hands on my friend.
There choices brought them to their ends.”
But Milo just snarled, and crawled away,
Burke and Aura sighed, and left him that way.

No one from Tillico ever saw them again,
even when Milo put a bounty of their hides.
Some say they made for themselves new names
and peacefully lived out their lives.
Others said, like most outlaws, they died...
And if you all liked this tale that you just heard,
Tell your friends about me, Bruce Bowden the Third.

I Used To Love Her Once

i used to love her once
hooked besotted for months
i gave her my all
despite her being 6foot tall
my head only up to her bumps

wed go to bed early
at the peak of our love
but some times this led to some trouble
for when id assume the position
for her aquisition
id ticlke her chest with my stubble

i used to love her once
i gave her my all
despite her being 6 foot tall
my head only up to her bumps

she got pretty aggrieved with the love she recieved
and finally filed for divorce
she had just the one reason
to justify her love treason
size it does matter of course

The Twins

She was a lovely lady, very proud
though when angry could be loud,
Pregnant with twins, little support,
her husband, manly, not that sort,
on the day she gave birth, he's out
down pub drinking bitter and stout,
She gave birth at their family home
though for her no love was ever shown,
when the babies were six weeks old
they still had no names, it's foretold,
he came home drunk totally brained
She ordered him to get them named,
so down local church to see vicar,
pub opens soon could you be quicker
the vicar said what will be their names?
couldn't remember but showed no sorrow
name this one today that one tomorrow,
the vicar knew him and showed no remorse
He christened them as a matter of course,
was an extremely sad life for him and her
from that day a life they couldn't and didn't share.

I have been told this is a true story (today renamed Toby died young)
(Tomorrow renamed Thomas lived to an old age )
