Best Madeline Poems
Joanna Davis
Sweet Madeline with her eyes of gray,
whose beauty could steal your breath away
With a body no shift or tunic could hide,
but admiring glances she took in her stride
Sweet Madeline with her eyes of gray,
would smile coyly, as she went on her way
Until Tom Bradley caught her eye on the Moors,
and her manicure hands turned into claws
Sweet Madeline with her eyes of gray,
stole Tom’s heart that very same day
She diced it with onions, paprika and spice,
then served it bien fait, on a bed of cold rice
Sweet Mad Elaine with her eyes of gray,
was still smiling sweetly...when they took her away!
Molly II (Madeline)
Madeline helped Molly stand,
On her own,
She was too weak…
They gazed at Sara,
In pools of blood,
Lying at their feet…
SHHHHH
Speak not of me,
And do not laugh,
Cast your stare aside…
From behind the pads,
Of darkened room,
And leather jacket tight…
Molly focused all her thoughts
On days,
That lay ahead…
She nodded constantly,
With deceptive smiles,
At all the doctor said…
Hand in hand,
In friendship found,
Together they walked the street…
Madeline from behind the mask
Molly,
In too deep…
Molly opened up,
Her blue eyes,
Wide with terror…
In her dreams,
She lost herself,
And found Madeline’s lair…
Trapped behind,
The doors of hate,
In the recess of their mind…
Molly realized,
Far too late,
To fear Miss Madeline….
Madeline,
With twisted face,
Drove the dagger deep…
Screaming bloody murder,
At the man,
Crumbled in the street…
With no remorse,
She glided back,
Gone without a care…
Molly fell to her knees,
In disbelief,
“What had happened here?”
Molly gazed upon,
The corpse,
At his dead eyed stare…
She heard the laughter,
In her mind,
“I am Sara’s sister, dear!”
She came to me by air
Milky white skin, long blonde hair
She promises me I will never be lonely again
I have her to love, I have a best friend
We shall never argue over petty things
With her there, the house will always be clean
Then one day Dana shows up at my front steps
Petite young lady, green eyes and a brunette
I realize by the end of the day
Madeline would just be in the way
That evening, I show Madeline to the door
I tell her I don't love her anymore
The next morning I realize what I have done
When I chose Dana over Madeline, I chose the wrong one
I leave Dana at the house to go find Madeline
While searching for her, I tell myself, this can't be the end
After days of searching, I find her in a second hand store
I approach to convince her, she's the one I adore
The looks I get as I give her a hug and a kiss
As I tell of my favorite things and she is at the top of the list
So we leave together to go back home
A bottle of wine, steak and disconnect the phone
Today I have to send both lovelies back to prostatic friends and lovers
incorporated
Dana will not return to me, to get a refund for her has made me frustrated
However, Madeline will be refurbished and returned to me like new
My Madeline, blonde hair and eyes of crystal blue
Madeline was attached to her horse as to no other.
Not her siblings, her father, her groom or her brother.
Her horse was tall, magnificent and seventeen hands high.
They together were formidable and intimidating, no lie.
They entered events as a unit of one, completely together.
Showed up at horse shows, no matter if inclement weather.
United in spirit so well, Madeline began to look like her horse.
Not seventeen hands high. That would have been silly of course.
Her siblings got married and moved away from the ranch.
They started a new family tree. Each with a new branch.
Madeline stayed around, taking care of her parents and steed.
Never marrying, but happy with her favorite boy, Old Mead.
I fell to the enemy of
The leaf,
I fell to the green hills,
I was coming to you
And I fell.
I lost control and I was not
Myself, sunlight has its way
And the night that leads me
To your eyes turns along the
Day. When I was a child
And when I was a man,
I met you when I could
Not talk- when I could not
Comprehend my thoughts.
My hands, my eyes
Speaking in some foreign verse.
A warm breeze becomes you-
A summer meadow becomes you-
I was coming to you, though like
Sunlight that hits the ground,
I did too.
*** This poem is in memory of Madeline Hsu, one of the children who died in the Sandy Hook shooting.
Flowers bloom in her presence.
For she is the princess of the flowers.
Madeline's bright flowery dresses give the flowers life and meaning.
Just like how she helped people around her blossum and show their own beauty.
She is gone from this world but still letting things blossum to their full potential.
When you see a bee sucking the nectar off a flower.
It is just wanting to taste the sweetness and beauty that Madeline has left behind.
For everytime a flower blossums.
Madeline's love and beauty is growing forever stronger in our hearts.
Madeline’s McMansion with the adorable painted flowers
Hidden in the meadow where the best vegetation grows,
Peeks at the rare visitor, ready to unleash her magic powers.
Ethereal and fantastic, her artistry in land and paintings show.
She has been loved thoroughly, a tribute to what one woman can do.
Madeline has been creating art on her walls, every day since 1992.
Her McMansion is the child she never was honored with in life.
Her legacy, created with oils, acrylics, glitters, stencils, and some strife.
The people who visit it now also marvel at the green thumb she must have had.
She left this gorgeous mansion to my family, mainly, her nephew, my sweet dad.
We have kept it the way she kept It, the upkeep is a joy to do for her memory.
It is the prettiest home in the world, as far as my siblings and I can see.
Something wonderful happened to my Stepnephew and his girlfriend.
They had a baby girl and they named her Madeline.
It's truly wonderful when a baby is brought into the world.
Will and his girlfriend are very happy and they treasure their girl.
I hope that I'm there when Madeline begins to walk.
I hope she calls me Uncle Randy when she learns how to talk.
She's a special baby and all who see her will be impressed.
It's a fact of life that Will and his girlfriend are truly blessed.
(Dedicated to Madeline Robinson who was born on October 17, 2013.)
