Best Lovely Day Poems
I often set out for a hike on a lovely day of roaming,
how I love to explore the forest and countryside alone;
going deep into the lush green woods under an azure sky,
I am mesmerized by beautiful flowers by a stone.
One day, I was lost in my thoughts when I found a bridge,
an old covered red bridge in the middle of nowhere;
once upon a time perhaps it had a stream flowing beneath,
but now gone as I stood breathing in the air.
The trees and foliage would soon claim it as their own,
I loved the reflecting sky puddles here and there beneath;
in fact, I walked under it to explore as it seemed sturdy,
it was truly a peaceful scene that I had come underneath.
My muse told me to stay a while and so I dropped my pack,
venturing over the bridge and then back again and again;
I really admired the blue roof and red painted sides,
but it had no purpose except perhaps as a beautiful lane.
And that got me to thinking and pondering about life,
yes, something can be quite beautiful no matter its age,
and it can have no real purpose- like this covered bridge
leading to nowhere, over nothing but lovely leafage.

I did not plan this lovely day,
It just grew wings
and flew away
Its moments filled
with many
sounds
As she turned
her face around
Sunlight twinkled brilliantly
Upon her deep
and misty seas
The birds aloft their
joy-filled wings
As nature lifts
her voice and sings
The Father smiles
upon her face
This gem of jewels
dancing through
space
Every creature joined
in song
To sing His praises
all day long
I did not plan this lovely day
It just grew wings
And flew away

I awake to the sound of birds chatter.
I know a new day has begun.
I draw back the curtains,
Look out on the world
And joyfully welcome the sun.
The majestic trees are gently swaying
As the wind softly rustles through.
All of the Earth is ablaze
With the colours of summer.
And the sky is a picturesque hue.
I drink in all this beauty of creation
That is there in attendance for me;
And I greet the day
With my heart in tune
With nature’s symphony.

Prose Poetry
From the past days of old.
At Seventh Street & Florence Avenue.
Vehicles in pristine finished.
Bragging Rights Mint Condition.
Proudly rolled by in a yearly tribute.
Very close behind did the present.
Spanking brand new, Virgilina's, VA.
Town's first responders debut their life-
saving vehicles of rescue.
Summer Fest proudly displayed.
Awesomely colored painted fine cars.
Including trucks and plowing tractors.
The drivers and passengers.
Cheerfully waived tossing smiles and candy.
I watched so many of the children laughing.
Enjoying themselves while playfully.
Scrambling to grab all and as many.
Of the tossed free candies.
So very comforting it was to see.
Neighbors, visitors, friends and family.
Witnessing together.
Standing side by side
In such a loving comradely.
History and our future.
Embracing one another.
In supreme harmony.
Refreshing the supportive celebration.
Veterans from old world wars of our past.
Keeping close in step were our gallant;
soldiers of wars in our present time.
Today's events were also in celebration.
Of the soldiers whom honorably.
Transitioned to a much peaceful home.
This was a very lovely quick get away.
Cotton candy, home made ice cream.
Scenie's Old-fashioned Peanut Brittle.
Freshly squeezed lemonade.
How fortunate to meet Ms Marion Woods.
Author of Uncle Jerdon's Farm Children' Book.
Thanks to my cousin Natarsha.
I am experiencing a very lovely.
Memorial Weekend Holiday.
My Uncle Joe Lassiter our beloved Veteran.
His daughter and my cousin Andrea Miller.
Stood in the longest line waiting patiently.
For what I learned was the town's best.
Brunswick Stew.
It's evening now I sit here as one.
Within this blissful time in nature.
Pleasantly at peace.
Relaxed taking in the beauty.
Of this picturesque piece of land.
Reflectively pondering.
On on this lovely day.
I joyfully have a writing instrument.
Very close at hand.

The bright sun was peeking through the curtain,
I opened it up wide to let the light in.
In the trees the birds are singing,
singing songs just to me.
Oh what a pretty day,
they are singing away.
Dressed and outside I will go,
my garden awaits with a glow.
The flowers with their perfume smell,
now calling bees and butterflies from everywhere.
I sit sipping my cup of coffee,
as I watch the beauty of this day.

Instead of hate, please pass the scones
There is no need for guns and drones
A tablecloth of white and pink
Is better than a shroud, I think
With saucers of a china blue
To hold our cups of loving brew
No need they match in color style
For beauty knows them all the while
The petit fours in rainbowed squares
Reflect the world of one who cares
Where differences are meant to be
To live and love all truly free
Why must this be a sugared dream
Somewhere inside us, it would seem
That common sense and goodness dwell
To seek of heaven, not of hell
It’s a lovely day for a tea party

The waterfall cascades, sun kissed
As a rainbow envelopes the waters mist
And salmon rise in harmonious dance
Glistening in unison to the shoals advance.
The sun embraces the newest day
It’s warmth encapsulated in each and every ray
As the flowers respond to our stars embrace
So the bees can feast with appreciative grace.
Birds joyfully sing with a pride so pure
To be natures medicine of the woes we endure
As the fresh brisk breeze on a sun showered face
Is a reminder of our belonging in this time and space.
A butterfly passes with kaleidoscope colour
Fluttering silently with a delicacy of splendour
As the hue of blue encircling our planet
Contrasts the green of lands own natural palette.
The sun descends with golden enrichment
As the curtain closes on a days fulfilment
In awe we look up to the heavens and pray
‘God deliver us tomorrow another lovely day’.

Today make sure make it good
spend it so you will enjoy
the forecast looks reasonably good
so let's go getting our feet employ
Fill the haversack with food and drink
kindle notebook pen and phone
that should be all I will need
bus pass too as forgetful I'm prone
So make for Scotland's gateway
taking three buses on the way
Perth in the north my destination
hoping it will be a sunny day
Arrive just before lunch have a coffee
take a walk over the river Tay
have pack lunch on woodland park
looking over Perth city wish could stay
As I write this I'm on way home
lovely blue skies with clouds white
sun's shine bright so fully
a lovely day it's been so right

Today Lil wears a flowered dress,
a big straw hat, and comfy shoes
while watering Mom’s many blooms
the big and small, the pinks and blues.
Her golden dog and tabby cat
relax and calmly watch their friend.
What could be better for a girl
than having flowers to attend?
The front yard is a wonderland
with things for little girls to do
and loving pets that wait nearby.
Life bears a happy, rosy hue.
