Best Lobbyist Poems
If guns don’t kill people
Why are so many people dead
Another moms child
shot in the head
Blackboards white chalk
splattered in Red
A teacher killed
For something she said
Victim after victim
Demons need to be fed
On violence they’ve been bred
We shouldn’t need
Metal detectors at School
A place of innocence has become cruel
What happened to the Golden Rule
Have we all taken on
the role of a fool
A gun isn’t just a harmless tool
It’s a weapon of mass destruction
and the most potent hate fuel.
I am scared by the NRA narrative
The power and control amendment imperative
Off to Washington lobbyist slobs
More and more gun factory jobs
Guns don’t lead to the collaborative
Weapons should not be the normative.
We have got in the habit of not looking up above
No gun has ever led to acts of love.
So until politicians become brave
Our society is a slave
Problems grow over time
We shouldn’t be so naive
Profiteers shouldn’t determine what we believe
In the end there are to many lives to grieve.
Why vote for governments
That uses you
That abuses you
Confuses you and refuses you
Why vote for governments
That doesn’t respect or defend your rights
And fight with all their might’s
Why vote for governments that are not contrite
And feel their evil doings are alright
Why vote for governments
That steals the meals off poor people’s plate
Yes I know you can relate
You lobbyist and you rich conglomerates
You leaders brought this world to this state
You closed equal opportunity gates
You email-gate, water-gate, racial profile, hate!
You collaborate to devastate by inaugurate debates
And brain washing mandates
You empty and launder it
The treasury’s financial reserves hey wait!
You vaingloriously defend your scandals eh mate
Yeh! You really forced me to explashiate
Against fractured cannibalistic nature politics
Syndromes of “eat ah food” government’s historics
Past and present, you categorize and polarize
Our society for your sooooole benefits
Eh why vote mate?

Rancid lemon rope squeeze
around a rotten tomato neck tie,
crooked odor bow hanging out of place
Acid reflux raisin tax bleed;
dripping spoiled, milquetoast lies
out a sour-twisted, prune puckered face
Tart tongue
sulfur speak disorderly,
dirty saliva fingers in the propaganda pie
Such a bowel movement disgrace
Bottom rung
bung opening vault key
Onion groans ... chittering fermented cry
Boot-licking patent leather taste
Smells like government to me,
corrupt as can be
Dung pile of voter promises,
sits atop a pungent idol landfill heap,
swarming with stinking lip flies
Smells just like reeking government gluttony —
O beast behavior ...
swine odor, foul as can be
Swindle spit vapors perfidiously wafting,
kindle the vomit pit
Sewage waste material ash labors fanning,
can you stand the stench of it?
Smells like dead paper figurehead
government to me
Bait-and-switch fishy business ...
close your eyes,
what does your nose see?
Tainted meat polltry speech,
pluck the purse feathers
off the cable perched pigeon bodies
Smells like government
is about to make a putrid, baked-in story
Made up facts ... maggot video feed
Stale, bureaucratic policy hard rolls
warmed over twice
Buttered late with expired date lies
Served with a cloying cup
of steaming sound-byte coffee:
Substitute truth ... false sugary
Toilet swirl coffin cake,
gutter floss the oral cavity
Bad breath vows made,
garbage hope nobody needs
Government smells
like a morgue dog in heat
Very omit cadaver, obit disgusting
Smells like
a pot of burning bones
on a boil
Bottom lip scum
rising to the top
On a truthful breath: Let me tell you,
it stinks an awful lot
Smells like scurvy government to me,
corrupt as base bribery can be
The lobbyist rats are scarfing down
the moldy green government cheese,
so silver spoon tongue greedily
Nothing like some regurgitated split-pea pleas
to hit the decaying belly ballot gastric spot
Can you make a federal case
of this rank-and-foul flatulent republic rot?
I was a good, honest taxpayer
That nurtured a moral dilemma.
Why should I perpetuate
The state I’ve grown to hate?
Subject to the authority
Of a fluctuating majority
I refuse to comply
You can accept, I’d rather die.
To be truly honest
Why vote in a rigged contest?
Plant free trees in a forest
Felled by the loudest lobbyist.
A good, honest player
Pays the public piper
Of their own free will
Or swallows the pipers pill.

Of the people I know
And the people I see
All want to be happy
All want to be free
Of organizations, clubs, and groups
Forcing their opinions
Through political loops
To the masses their way is right
Preaching their peace through a superior fight
Religion, race, color, and creed
All to fill an empty need
Right wing, left wing, republican or radical
Reformist, anarchist or arsonist
Socialist, communist and lobbyist
Or………………………… Liar !
No matter what group you belong
You’ve given your soul for hire
Your part of a click
Playing a game
Learning the trick
To belong………you have to get along
Strength in numbers, masses with the same idea
All with the agenda of wanting to be free
One common goal
To put the other click in the hole
Do yourself a favor
Be your own click
Have your own thoughts and ideas
To yourself be true
It’s yourself that you please
Things are never what they seem
But to be part of a group with common goals
Is the ideal dream
Just never lose yourself in the idea
Let it work for you, not the other way around
Eric (and sometimes not)
She rolls on the dusty ground
pulls her hair
scratch her skin
dress halfway out
to a stranger this may look like the Ingoma dance
she falls on her knees
tears streaming down the cheeks
mouth wide but no sound comes of her screams
"It has happened again." They utter in whispers
She cannot hear the voices
Her nerves gone numb
eyes light out
skin is flooding with goose bums
her heart bleeding faster than the body she has scooped on her laps.
she is paralyzed by the pain...
"Parents should not bury their kids."Bitterly he spit
"But when they defy the law we have no choice."
He pick the gun and disappear in the thickening crowd.
Another body on the ground another bullet to the count
To family and friends it is another mistaken identity
Police man word is "Dangerous criminal."
We could riot in the streets, sing solidarity and slogans
but we know what happens each time
The order is "Shoot and kill."
One by one we will make our way home
socked in sadness and disbelief
The nation will run a headline "What happened to guilty till proven guilty?"
Nothing new really, just a few new punctuations on the last re-run.
Human rights groups,NGOs and lobbyist will pick it up,make some noise, attract more donors then go black
In the village the drums will echo for a week
we will dance round the fire each night calling on our gods for solace.
Then on Friday we will put his shattered body six feet under
hope our son(s) will find peace beyond the misery of us living.
Only right before the flowers on the grave goes faint
another son will be on the ground, another bullet to the count
And the ritual goes on...
Who dare question Uncle Sam?
Guns don't kill people,
PEOPLE kill people.
So they say.
I don't think one man could kill
59 people and wound 400+ (estimated)
if he didn't have guns.
Lot's of them.
And plenty of ammunition.
Is it perhaps time for a meaningful dialogue about
gun control?
Or do you prefer your neighborhood gunman to control
large caches of weaponry
and utilize excellent control of such
in the blatant execution of your fellow humans?
What possible use does a civilian have for
weapons which can destroy that much life so quickly and efficiently?
Hunting laws don't allow hunters to massacre a herd of elk anymore. Or buffalo. Or ducks.
I am an ex-hunter (voluntarily retired), an ex-soldier (honorably discharged) and I own a gun.
I once belonged to the NRA (three years max). I grew tired of the rhetoric. I grew tired of the daily barrage of solicitations for more money. I grew tired of hearing that more guns in the hands of the populace was the answer to violence. I grew tired of a very powerful lobbyist organization manipulating people and politicians to perpetuate violence in this country.
I don't have an answer to the problem, but I don't think the answer is "more guns."
If you have an answer, please reply in the comments.

American politicians are doing
what they always do
Making gunsmoke promises,
buttering up voter you
And the monkey chump voters
fall for it every time ...
banana peel slipping for the lying
When it comes down to choosing
between helping the rich or the poor,
politicians always gon leave open
the tax cut backdoor
Letting the wealthy grin lobbyist in;
and the powerless poor,
their frowning face,
gon always get the slammed shut front door
Politicians telling the desperate poor,
the gov’ment ain’t got the funding no more
Entitlements to ease poverty are all gone,
but subsidies to the rich is permanent strong
They got money for the guns, always
Military defense never loses a dime,
in fact, it always increases every budget time
But the butter money for the poor always melts away,
the gov’ment never got none in reserve for a rainy day
Guns and butter ... which domestic house
gets the revenue bacon,
Pentagon or Harlem?
Disillusioned voters already know the answer,
once their health care and welfare gets cut
They know which pot got the pork butt
Everybody should be more voter aware ...
that you don’t season saltpeter on the meat,
and you don’t cold butter the barrel of a gun
Otherwise the hot bullets burgers won’t taste sweet
when you bite into a sour, empty promise bun
Gilded pols with verbal jousts disarm
With statistical ballasts constituents charm
On opponents deceptive feints, sound the alarm
Scout for votes in city, dale, and farm
Broker deals that bolster their position
Deceptive adds initiate their political inquisition
Bribe voters of every walk and station
Recount votes with cunning derision
Conveniently forget every token promise
Accept all gratuities without malice
With honey and wine, fill every lobbyist chalice
Satiate ego with fatuous, frivolous dalliance
SPECIAL INTEREST
With the thought processes of the masses overwhelmed
By the heavy burden
Of no influence on policy
And with little scope for advancement
Up the greasy pole
Insurrection and rebellion abound
Catching the chattering classes off guard
Traducing a broke government is the new game
To incite discontent and to pander to
Front page democracy the new weapon
Of those whose frustrations
Know no bounds
Unions and lobbyist throw their
Handbags out their prams
Yet they provide no new income streams
For a government on its knees
The pension pot is the new not to
Be touched holy grail
Its reverence brings to the fore those
Who wish every proceeding generation
To pay for today’s profligacy
Money comes money goes
Often the government seems to have none
To spend it all on special interest
Is a very selfish goal
This new era of austerity is but long overdue
A curb on the excesses that let the selfish
Do as they would please to do
With society’s blank cheques
A welcome break for the taxpayer
The one who petulantly foots the bill
Those that want more may need to pay more
A progressive system is not unwarranted
Tax is but essential to fill the pot
Those that have but give not
A blot on an otherwise decent lot
How selfishly all sides do behave
They want but refuse to give
To be the one who wins all
Exceeds all other considerations
No compromise is considered best policy
To lobby
To influence
To fool
These are the goals of the one sided
Minstrels of the selfish school
Knocked from their little thrones they rise
They but skew interest towards their cause
An unfair system
Built like a house of cards
That flutters in the wind of change
Selfishness is but a wanton Unhealthy game
A grand state of decay is society
Where wants and expectations
Outgun reality
A government unwilling to be brave
Allows democracy to shiver and shake
A useless waste of a vote
A dismal disgrace
Society is but made up of parts
That only function if all contribute
And everyone gains
Grappling hands should be slapped
We must all enjoy what our hard work has begot
A delicate balancing act is government policy
Frustratingly it seldom meets its aims
For the unintended consequences
Forever drown the initial good
Not everyone sadly wants policy to do some good
Seek out what’s best for you
Always remembering it’s not
All about you
