Best Lion Poems
This world of trouble soon will pass
For there beyond the crystal glass
A lamb and lion tread the grass
Beside a lass, beside a lass
This cord of present time shall break
And hate and fear shall flee and quake
Oh, may all vice this earth forsake!
And love awake! And love awake!
Oh, see him walk 'neath mighty trees!
The king of beasts; what strength and ease!
Yet now content this lass to please
Her hand to tease, her hand to tease
Behold! A pleasant form and face!
The child of beauty crowned with grace!
Fair Una treads at even pace
A better place, a better place

~Based on the painting 'Una and the Lion' by Briton Riviere.
You Are The One I think of the most. You know and carry unconditional love. You have experienced the pains of pains. When You're not in My presence to walk with Me;My mind carries You and holds You deep in thought. The pureness that grows from Good devours The Evil...The walls of Your Heart fall down and open into fields No One Else can possible reach, love, know,or roam. The Wisdom of Your Fields develop and rules Valleys.Valleys expand into Vast Kingdoms filled with Knowledge,Power, and Intelligence...Across The Horizon lies The Kingdom of Heaven in boundaries of grey only a Lion Heart can visualize. The Strength of a Castle is built by Your Own two hands held by Fate.Only a Lion Heart has the keys to open the doors and the ability to cross through the rooms furnished with Destiny untold.A candle is lit.You pace the rhythm with a steady beat.Your Heart restores The Eternal Light with-in.Truth becomes factual. The Greenness of Facts unfold into Beautiful Gardens. Among The Gardens indescribable Rays of Hope appear with Faith as Your Spirit.Your Spirit becomes excelled by love.... LOVE Blossoms into The Reality of Freedom. Freedom is enhanced by Courage...The Courage of A Lion Heart that holds Forgiveness for All. With-in Your Heart A Garden of desire is standing firm and grounded...Could it be possible that You have A Lion Heart? Respect,Understanding,Love;that is Everlasting Serenity... I often wonder where this comes from as an Orion of ringing appears undetectable in Ones Ears... The Lion roars and The Angels sing softly with an inner Peace.May Your Gift of Acceptance Shine-On...From A Creator;to an Angel, better yet A Lion Heart.Walk among The Winners just for Today...

In the valley of tall golden fire, I rest
listening to the sound of the earth heartbeat.
Africa's eastern breath presses its cheek against mine
as I bask and savor the exotic serene moment.
I listen and watch at the tapestry of wildlife gather,
a world of tranquil beauty.
Together we forge a strong valley,
but still a world of survival; nowhere is truly safe.

I am dandelion
in a world of weed killers
colour of sunshine
yet despised for being me
with one's seed so prolific

My feline bittersweet awakening
came decked with golden trim of flawless days.
A time it was to frolic and to fling
ourselves in grass, all afternoon to laze.
Together we were fearless, wild and free,
a noble lion and his lioness.
And sadly, neither one of us could see
that passion such as ours would evanesce.
Our error was believing that each kiss
could carry us. . . that love could multiply
or even match July’s exceeding bliss.
By summer’s end, our ardor had run dry.
A lion’s appetite can satiate,
and love - less noble then - will soon abate.

King of the jungle
Ruling behind zoo bars
Locked up royalty
Cecil the lion of Zimbabwe, famous and beloved,
Shot by a bow hunter after being lured from his home;
It took Cecil forty hours to die, how he must have suffered,
They tracked him down and shot, skinned and beheaded him.
It was senseless, cowardly, cruel and barbaric,
Oh I weep for Cecil the lion with the rest of the world;
And all animals victims of trophy hunters who kill for the fun,
Our voices must be united and be strong, we must end poaching.
We must demand justice for Cecil and all animals,
The hunting for sport must be stopped as it is murder;
No amount of money makes it right, no more heads on walls,
No more animals killed by cowards with big egos and money to do it.
Sign a petition, make your voice heard loudly,
Laws need to change so that animals no longer die;
This particular killer will be tracked down just like he did,
But we will be more humane, we won't shot, skin and behead him.
This coward in hiding must face justice in Zimbabwe.

A cold lion roams, doctrinaire and sterile,
The expanse of Africa offers him no sanctuary, the Saringehti no salvation,
He can only smell the scent of his pride now, his cubs shun him,
Repelled by needless roars, the revolting rants,
Tail tattered, biten by jackels at will,
His nose bit and beaten from battles better avoided,
Soul tethered to a label, only a title, "King of the Jungle" ,
Fleas and insects of all sorts find haven in his muddy mane
once so puffed and wide like a thunderhead trampling over Tanzania,
I hear him in the twilight, lonely, unsated and undesired,
Paranoid about a life that does not seem to love him,
His heart became a desserted Athens, a broken, rigid column slumped on the earth,
He wanders near the Nile, nearsighted and nervous
As an Egyptian boy of ancient lineage stalks him sensitively
Putting the speartip to own temple saying,
I see your ribs, your broken paws, your futility,
I will now deliver your soul unto the cool night,
The spear is launched with a certain bloodlust
piercing behind the shoulder blade, his heart hollers
with the cry of scarred suprise, the lion stumbles and pants
vanity not allowing blame for lack of vigilance,
the boy trots to the spot, kneels in token reverence
telling him, sip the black puddle of your error, as eyes fold ever shallow,
let me feed you these apples of arrogance
so to quiet your grievence, to sooth your ego before final sight,
there is no shame in being slain by a Pharoah King, old lion,
I shall wear your teeth as a timeless trophy of tragedy,
Emblematical of Pride gone on too long,
may the spirit of Herodetous teach this lesson to a new breed -

Grim is the threat of extinction...
Now unveiled in Trafalgar Square
a sculpture to draw attention;
it contains a message to share.
There’s on show a clockwork statue.
Grim is the threat of extinction
prompting another hot issue
making pleas for a solution.
There’s the need of urgent action
to save the lions in decline.
Grim is the threat of extinction;
now is the time to draw the line.
Let us not be caught in slumber.
May we act with true conviction.
The big cats are down in number.
Grim is the threat of extinction.

Moist drops evaporate
The predator's focused gaze
The throat quivers of thirst
... water of purity
She knows everything about
- the force of attraction
A fragrant path, her bait
- leads him into temptation
Erotic blushing -
an intimate moment
Heartbeat and
tingling in the stomach
Sensitive and explosive
- A pregnant lioness

I have claws, long and sharp.
They grow, I growl, stay away!
A caged animal, walking up
and down and up and down.
Don't come near, I'll tear you open.
Oh, isn't that a brave dream?
Isn't that a dream of fierce independence?
Isn't that a dream of surviving?
A dream of conquering?
Of escaping?
But the day we ran, I had no claws
I didn't roar.
I was a mouse, silent, quick
Tiptoeing close to walls
Escaping through the cracks
Bringing with me my brothers
As quick and silent as I was
And then I learned that real power
Is not in anger, hate, claws and teeth
But in survival and in love.
I have fought you in tears for years,
useless in our abuse, an excuse for entertainment
at the merriment of no one save we two
and we knew the outcome, always the same
the shame in the unfought defeat, fresh meat
for the masses to feed on and laugh at on our behalf.
And at morning’s light, the same fight of we two,
me and you going round and round in a cage,
our own stage of self-destruction, and an eruption
of no one clapping in amusement, a bemusement
and a confusing silence as I realize that the whip
that’s hurting me is the very same one held by me.
"The Tudor Rose, The Lion and The Sceptre of Light"
God bless
The Queen
Shield of Tudor Rose
and Lion rampant
the 3 of Lionheart,
guardant passant
Unicorn and azure harp
rose and thistle stand
with shamrock, connected
wars and battles
conflicted, a home
not seamless,
stands firm, apart
sanctuary is never easy
when grief is the price
we pay for love
duty bound
for Love,
of Her dominion
and Her people
Lion and Lamb
above all others,
at all cost, to self
constant Her
selfless shield of duty,
brave royal heart
arms never folding
outstretched
open wide apart
dieu et mon droit
"God and my right"
before Life, it starts
God bless
The Queen,
a life long lived
walking towards
Her sovereign,
now in sight
calls to Her
as if She
were a child,
halo crown
sceptre of Light
The Lion passant
her mighty Sovereign,
King and Lord,
now in her sight

Paper Lion
He was a paper lion
With a crayola coloured mane
When he sprung from the page
She thought she was insane
He rose there from the floor
Transformed into a man
Destined to become her lover
Sculpted body bronzy tan
He lacked no ounce of courage
As he reached out for her face
When he pulled her towards him
Her heart began to race
A most ravenous beast
Her clothes he stripped away
He fulfilled her wanting passions
In his hands she was the prey
Power leapt from his body
As he let out a ferocious roar
His majesty from paper Jungle
Had her screaming out for more
Looking there into his eyes
Her confusion mixed with lust
She didn't want to stop him
Yet her brain said she must
She pushed him away
How could this dream be real
Her body and her mind
Kept spinning like a wheel
When she refused to believe
He was returned to the page
The worlds saddest paper lion
Again locked in his paper cage.
You were always my best friend,..
Even if we didnt see each other as much as we did
Ever sense the day we met in 5th grade
I knew you were a great guy upon that day
You were a Leo and i was a capricorn
Together i felt we could conquer the world by storm
You were like my twin brother,
So many things we shared in common
Your humour though was better than mine, I admit
You had a way of making people laugh and smile
And you could sing man..
Your voice was awesomely sick
I dont understand why you took your life when you did...
But i just wish i could have helped you..
I didnt know it was getting bad for you too..
The news hurt my heart hard
like a lightning bolt that hit and hit
So many conversations and memories we shared
My friend i remember all of it
And you i while deeply miss..
You were the first to read the first chapter
of my developing fiction novel
I wish you lived to read the rest of it..
And for you someday it will be finished
il dedicate a character in your likeness
And forever you will be apart of me..apart of this
And whoever reads my book as they ponder and sit
Its hard to believe your gone my dearest friend
And harder to stop mourning
As my eyes burn into the morning
In my heart ..
Your spirit will forever be roaring
P.s.
I love you man
Please be in a better place..
Because when it's my time..like i know everyone will have..
if i have to go to hell and pull you out..
You know il do it
Il fight until there is nothing of me that exists
Love you my friend. Memories us i will forever cherish
