Premium Member The Mark Twain Sausage Analogy

**“Those that respect the law and love sausage should watch neither being made.” –
American Humorist/Author Mark Twain (real name Samuel Clemens)

Prestigious lawmaking bodies are comprised of solons*
Some find it hard to refrain from comparing them to cons

Few legislators know the ramifications of bills
And the way they’re rushed to passage can give the public chills

We don’t know what’s in bills or how they strip away our rights
And if we ask our lawmakers, they provide few insights

Piles of amendments are thrust hastily in political machines
Objections are made; no one successfully intervenes

“What’s that?” we ask later when we realize what has been done
(In Kennesaw, Georgia, all citizens MUST purchase guns)

Try to blend the conservative and liberal viewpoints
You’ll find the machine sputters with fat spewing from its joints

It’s like taking hunks of pork and grinding them into links
The process is messy and the outcome usually stinks

No matter! We are supposed to smile and just eat it up
Then we wash it all down with a sip from the lager cup

Pork barrel projects like Alaska’s “Bridge to Nowhere” confound
As on nebulous values of bills lawmakers expound

So beware if for common sense in these bills you forage
And remember old Mark Twain’s analogy to sausage

*Solons are members of any legislative or lawmaking body.

Our Moral Behavior

Today's problems can't be fixed by legislative law.
It is our moral behavior that is our flaw.
For being a racist, you can't be arrested.
Even though it is their freedom, that is molested.

If you cheat in a relationship, you will not be fined.
Yet, you disgrace the race we built, called mankind.
This is leading to the downfall, all of us being divorced,
but for the one's who do it, in a jail cell, you will not be forced.

This next moral decision, divides us into portions,
but it cannot be held against you, if you have abortions.
I am hoping that my children are born in a time,
where these aren't sins, but against the law and a crime.

Premium Member Presidential and Senatorial Positive Legacies

Senator Edward Kennedy introduced "The affordable health care act"!Barack Obama implemented"The affordable health care act"and had some "Legislative flack, but this "Affordable Health Act " was made "Law"and that is a fact! They tried to shut the "Law" down, and "The American People said that that was not sound, and "Affordable Health Care should stay around in every "State",and in every town! John McCain,Susan, and Lisa spoke up,and said that this "LAW"should not be replaced ,because those who are "American Citizens have a real right to have "Health Care in this "United States"!!!! The "American Flag" is now more respected, because "Affordable Health Care was not neglected, and this is what "Americans have detected: "We The People" feel that we all are respected!President Donald Trump moved in the right direction, and "Detected"that our "Allies"were not paying their "Fare share",and President Donald Trump put controls on foreign imports that were sucking "America"dry, and "Donald" realized that "Americans" can create products and sell our product "World Wide"! Americans need to have "Dignity,Power,Love, and Pride!!Let us love : Do not be afraid of loving too much! Love is the fulfilling of "The Law"!!!! We can discern the infinite in the finite of "The Ideal Made Real"!!! Senator Edward Kennedy,President Donald Trump,President Barack Obama,Senator John McCain,Senator Lisa,Senator Susan have did some good, and in their legacies we see that they can ,and could!!!!!

Social Conscious

Social conscious, the brain behind the hand,
it’s wooden spoon ready to smack the non-conforming adult /s/,child/ren.
Driven by western views of political correctness,
it dictates how we should be and what we should become.

Weaving its web within the fabric of society,
legislative acts and the cynical ideals of who?
Always ready to shout out your wrong!!!,
never commending those who are right.

Forced upon minorities in a stereotypical way
look these people need to be saved,
it’s one sided propaganda eagerly displays,
many shames of what were acceptable ways.

Power, control, suppression, aggression
this seems pretty prejudice to me,
why else would it segregate the people,
instead of helping the people to be free.

Let’s disempower the people,
then they wonder why?
These people have no control!
I don’t know why they act surprised?

Social conscious dictates social change,
social change denotes someone pays,
the ones who pay force change,
so social conscious always wins at the end of the day.

There’s two sides to every coin,
but only one to social conscious,
who is the conscious behind social conscious?
think about that……..

Number of Man

Number of Man
(Webster’s Ninth)

Money trail reveals factor
To assemble humans follow layout
Swat down charges with linguistic racket
Sticks more effective than carrot dangle
Arguments sustained by pundits' jangle
Beached on shallow force Fed truths we paddle

Pedantic pets get paddle
First world states where offspring are a factor
Searching for meaning results in jangle
Pogroms programmed in digital layout
Preach peace while children from clotheslines dangle
Dichotomy the full courtpress racket

Tax credit skin trade racket
Birth control for those learning to paddle
Tout facts as contexts, like syntax, dangle
Infrastructure to control the factor
Roman Rhodes lead all through latent layout
Deaf ears strain to hear warning bell’s jangle

Legalized fictions jangle
Integration catalyzed by racket
A body of work produced for layout
Leaves us without proverbial paddle
Multiply the lie to find the factor
What tales are told from the yardarm dangle

Join the police state dangle
Riot inciting projection jangle
Plausibility denying factor
The legislative extortion racket
Brings independence beneath the paddle
All contingencies covered by layout

Camp Kapos marked for layout
Every scapegoat has his day to dangle
No room for slaves who refuse to paddle
Loose lips fill shipping lanes by their jangle
Synthetic avatars fuel our racket
Never ask what long term effects factor

Layout a dialectic to jangle
Dangle clues via distracting racket
Paddle but fail to account for the Factor

IF EVER I HAD A COUNTRY: LXXVIII

            for Suzanne DELANEY, in appreciation

(Prelude: CAN THE WRONG MAN BE RIGHT ? ABSOLUTELY !
If only he were NOT guilty of the self-same crime !
For instance, here in Europe, acceding to « nationality»
status can be quite ludicrously irrational: those migrants
even "totally ignorant" of the host country’s culture
and official tongue obtain their "citizenship papers »
sooner or later, while clinging desperately to their
own culture and country to the exclusion of their hosts’- some more fortunatethough enjoy « dual nationality » and therefore DUAL rights to LOYALTY ! And talk tough once they take over responsibile positions in society. And the
ones on whom the latter prey most of all are precisely
those « other» less fortunate migrants at their mercy !)

IF ever I had a country, a country NOT « wholly" put together by
either IMMIGRANTS or REFUGEES, you see, but by conquering
IMPERIAL ENSLAVERS on the backs of blacks and
on those fleeing from hunger, from religious
   intolerance as "indentured-labourers », mainly, you’ll agree

WHERE the indigene was routed and rounded up into
RESERVES through superior "fire-power" by the
   COLONIAL and local ARISTOCRACY

AND where TAXES and LEVIES imposed by the « Foreign Power »
drove the locally-born MASTER to revolt against the MOTHER
   COUNTRY

Until the whole CONTINENT united « nation » after « nation »
to become the foremost mid-twentieth century « COLONIAL »
   SAVIOUR of the WORLD country

Only to find its internal structure and economic power usurped
   by other NON-NATION constituting ethnies

AND one-by-one take over from the original WASP founding PATER
   FAMILIAS confederacy

Yes, then, I’d keep the NEW-COMER from wagging his/her tongue or
shooting his/her mouth tout azimuth - despite the legislative mandate -
as though he/she were the backbone of the nation or from attempting to
take over my « dear » country as if it were their « god-given » patrimony

Even if I never ever had no country stuck together with spit and elbow-grease to look like a pyrotechnically-powere Bollywoodian jamboree

The Older I Get the More I Want To Live

At 76 I’m walking a shorter path and I’m not sure how I feel
However, I think an additional 100 years of life would be ideal
It would give me time and chances to take a shot at everything;
Run the Boston marathon or on a gymnastic bar do a perfect ten back spring;
Climb Mt. Everest; win a Tony, vote in a woman as President;
Cruise Alaska, win a PCH contest, or think of something remarkable to invent;
Eat Chinese in China, Italian in Italy, try on a vintage Givenchy in France
See William’s coronation as England’s King or converse with a ghost in a séance
Just odds and ends, this ‘n that, a few dreams I didn’t fulfill
Opportunities I missed, ignored, failed at, or had not the will
To pursue or follow through with for one reason or another
(I’ve found it’s harder and lonelier to “do” without my Husband;
He was always and ever will be my beloved Significant Other).

Hard it may be, lonely or not, the will to live is not easy to disregard,
It’s like sitting in a ballroom staring at your beribboned, but empty dance card
When all of a suddenly things start looking up; you have dances to share
With friends, new faces and you're even invited to try a sexy tango on a dare!
There’s so much of life to experience and explore
Passing on with such a lot to see and do would be an absolute bore!

Hanging in there?  Yes I am, because I want Life whether rich or poor;
I’d like to graduate college and savor New England in the fall,
I want to discover and boldly walk through open doors
So I can relish all the places I’ve wanted to visit, indeed, gorge on travel galore;
I’d like to see world peace and bring discrimination to an end
Rarest of all, see Democrats and Republicans become productive legislative friends;
I look forward to actual freedom of religion, race and gender
And hope to spend more time with my children in harmonious family splendor
I’ve got family, friends (perhaps the world!) to show how much love I have to give
And although aging may be physically (but hopefully) not mentally restrictive
I’ve no doubt in my mind (age be damned!) the older I get the more I want to live.

Legal Rods

The book of torts is the new manual for life
The law is king and
The government must always be praised

Efficient and effective parliaments
Are measured by legislative prowess
As laws multiply
So does government success
They believe only in themselves
So all is good and that is best

When friendship and cohesion should be encouraged
Suspicion and accusation is codified
In a world where the static reality of a regulation
Cannot account for the variances of human interaction
We have laws that stymie individuality

Rights are temperamental
Democracy is multi-faceted
Today we are afraid of terror
So we legislate against the man
Not facing us in the mirror

The misdemeanors of a selfish few
Act as a rod to beat compliance from all
The law that was a reaction
To a particular person’s misdemeanors
Applies to everyone
Even those with less sin

Blinded by rhetoric
We believe that wrongs that are topical fads
Must be legally deterred
Irrespective of the goad we pass on to
The inheritors of our short sightedness

The net of authority captures indiscriminately
The cry of unfairness would be too late
When we are forced to be reactive
After the seductive romance
Of our legislators’ public consultation is over
And we get laws that bite ferociously

Government popularity is the aim
Phantom enemies are created
So they can be legally slain
By a government that
Sends liberty down the drain

Vote wisely if you wish to have a say
Or take whatever bolshie government
That does not understand fair play

Electioneering

Electioneering

Somewhere in the mind of America is the simmering consciousness of legislative morality… where the politicians and rhetoricians are more than magical magicians

I see you America, with your brains spinning and your eyes rolling
Fingers wagging in blame game naming and shaming

Hypocrisy is your middle name in misled Middle America where the Middle Class is lost in the shuffle of meddling rhetoric spewed by mewed misanthropic women and men in new pants and suits and suitpants

I see you looking out to the horizon, heading for the future and looking for the past on a TV screen where extreme left and extreme right don’t battle for Middle America…

– where Americans meet in the middle and talk sense to each other –

…they battle for radical ideologies that alienate the middle and satisfy the fringe who binge on the ‘beautiful’ chaos of the moment and the month and the electioneering year

Stump speeches, primaries, media polls, emails, and end goals – what does it mean?

Was it Goethe who told us to “speak a few reasonable words” every day? Do we hear them? When America takes his advice it may be too late – It is too late – Is it too late? Too late to satiate and placate the masses of Middle America?
Electioneering in an election year; engineering for a future too near…

Throw the Bums Out

The men we elect extol their virtues with zeal,
Yet, in whispered corners, many continue to steal.
Long ago, Thomas Paine wrote "Common Sense",
Our legislators seem to lack this, when courted by lobbyists,
PACs, and the other interests who have come since.

They spend millions now to just get elected,
Are we so gullible, or just dejected?
"Throw the Bums Out" has been a cry heard before,
We still let them pass...Oh, so easily through the door.

Where are the "Statesmen" that once were there,
In every corridor of Congress, and in every chair?
Their biggest concern was the Citizens' welfare,
You pay for us first...seems to be their current care.

When we vote, as we all should,
Know the person of your choice, as best you could.
Ask what they have done to garner your trust,
Don't just pick one, whose hair isn't mussed.

When the voting is done and the election over,
Watch what they do, under the legislative covers.
So many of us complain that what happens is not fair,
Yet, our vote has stayed home, sitting in our favorite chair.

Federal, State, and Local Politicians too,
Realize that so many of us do not watch what they do.
So, take your vote seriously and with more zeal,
"THROW THE BUMS OUT" . . . this time for real!

Premium Member 350 Degrees

Concerned Christian environmentalists truthfully believe God created the life forms inside the oceans, lakes and seas. He left mankind a legacy, he was suppose to be responsible for these marine life species. It is of utmost importance people listen to dedicated groups such as 350 Degrees.

Other countries and other municipalities. have either banned or restricted plastic shopping bags. But restriction and banning in the United States is accomplished by mainly municipalities. It is my prayer that the City of Everett joins them. I phoned Olympia's legislative hotline 1-800-562-6000. And left them this message banning those plastic bags city by city takes much too long.

Where did most of our plastic garbage end up? In other nations of the world, and they have had enough! They believe we created it and should be held responsible for its clean up. Those bags are non-biodegradable and are potentially harmful. They are rapidly filling up our over crowed landfills.

Haven't we had enough of turning our oceans, lakes and seas into human plastic garbage dumps? Because of human wanton carelessness, soon this planet will become inhabitable for even us. How many marine sea life must die? How many fish, and clams and other food sources of man, live on plastic?

People are becoming concerned about recycling of plastic. It is only possible if the products recycling labels have numbers one or two. Products can only be recycled once! You do not have to believe me, but you need to listen to 350 Degrees.

Our polluted oceans are rapidly becoming warmer leading to increased hurricanes, floods and tornadoes. Natural and man made disasters are occurring with more frequency and intensities. Covering a wide disaster range, and displacing its victims. Those people are facing their problems by faith in Jesus Christ. Neighbors and churches are helping each other!

Love as always!
