Premium Member When I Am Nothing

When I am nothing, a no one,
when nobody remembers my name -
will you give me a purpose to remain?

When I can no longer run,
will you carry me over the line?
Will you teach me how to tread slowly,
upon paths I'm yet to discover,
will you bring me home?

In times of rage and rejection,
will you show me patience,
love me without blame?

Will you understand me -
comprehend the metaphors of my angst?
When I am lost in the wilderness,
will you guide me to be found?
When all doors are closed,
will you provide me with a key,
so I can open yours?

In days of darkness,
when selfish stars hide behind black hues,
when I'm lonely like the moon,
will you place my head upon your chest,
so I can feel the glow of your heart?

When I'm helpless
in the trauma of the storm,
in times of insanity and fear,
will you keep me warm?
Shelter my inner child,
from those who could harm?

When tears finally flow,
when my lips are parched,
will you kiss me softly,
heal me with breaths of empathy?

In times of infliction,
when there is no remedy for my cure,
will you hold my hand,
will you ease my pain -
soothe me until the end?
When I crumble like a summer orchid,
will you lay strong foundations?
Will you disguise my imperfections,
lie to me about my perfections?
When I'm too fatigued to flower,
will you become a pillow upon my flowerbed?
When my garden is no longer evergreen,
will you sow new seeds of hope.
so my memories blossom forever?

When there are no words
Will you cherish my silence?
When I can no longer walk,
will you lay by my side?
When all lyrics have been written,
when the last poem has been sung,
will you become my poetry -
will you reflect on my legacy?
When my soul is returning to its sender,
will you be my last

We are all born angels but gradually grow
into men;
A few of us, though, do angels remain,
And you, golden you, are the like of them:
You whom Paradise led me to
And back to Paradise leads me daily;
Whom Fortune fished from my dreams to
lay by my side...
If you wish me love, wish me you,
And if I should make you happy, make me
hubby!

Then for a day you’ll be my bride and forever
my pride.
And side by side with hearts, sweat, & tears
entwined
We’ll each day labour at the blessed wheel
By whose fateful spins our home shall be
steered
Towards destinies atop golden hills
That Heaven wills as our dwelling place.

Wet Brain- Fictional

Theres this knawing in my tummy
A burning in my ear
I feel your presence next to me
Yet you are hardly here

I'm not sure when it happened
but now it's crystal clear
Though your body's in the room
Youre vacant. --Insincere

I wonder- was it worth it?
To throw it all away?
All the things you squandered
to keep the pain at bay

All the things you had to pawn
just to get you through your day
Traded growth for comfort
Traded gold for hay

And I don't think you'll ever realize
the person you used to be
Now on a quest with no direction
In drunken ecstasy

These thoughts so sick and twisted
They make me want to flee
Spinning round in circles
A pirate lost at sea

I wish that you could see it
the way I clearly do
Suddenly I wonder
Who am I talking to?

Look around one last time
There's no one here. It's true.
And that is when reality
finally does come through

I see it there in front of me
A reflection in a mirror
I know it now for certain
Death is creeping nearer

I poor myself another drink
I hold my poison dearer
Then anything I've ever held
Reality becomes much clearer

I know I'll never break away
from this cage I built
It's destiny to end it here
There's nothing left but guilt

So I gently shut my eyes
And pray I'll quickly wilt
I look for one last sign of comfort
Grab tight to my quilt

The one my mother gave to me
on her final day on earth
She died too from the bottle
Pitiful, without self worth

I set a lonely fire with a lonely match
I watch it slowly flicker as I lay by the hearth
There was never once a chance for me
Doomed from the day of birth

Romance

Chill setting in

 daylight hours wane.

Roast in the oven

candles aglow

A little soft music

to heighten the mood.

Put a log on the fire

and wait for your call.

Snow falling down

blanketing the earth

Perfect night for romance

Just me and you

A bottle of wine

A soft kiss or two

We lay by the fire

Saying I love you

A Beautiful Love

A beautiful day, beautiful is time,
When I have you lay by my side.
A beautiful feel, a beautiful rhyme,
Just to look into your eyes,
And lie by your side.
Never felt so better in life before,
Nothing would feel better than hold you,
In my arms forevermore.
Time and time I felt,
To kneel over and hold your hands.
I don't know what is right and light.
But one thing is sure and very pretty sure,
I will love you all my life.

Note For the Faint Hearted

When she was born she had no father,
spent nights in the streets to feed her mother,
who was diagnose with a disease cancer,
she strolled the streets naked for suitors,
the life was worse she became a call girl.

As the sun rose she headed to her homestead,
weak frail with nothing to show but her instead,
she saw her her mother still as a log dead,
she shoved her side to side but she was dead.

She sobbed and wept for three consecutive weeks,
her relatives came and tried to comfort her weak,
her body was soul less for she was now alone,
living this life without her parent was steel hard,

As the months passed she could not pay her rent,
her landlady threw her out like a rat to pitch tent,
she lay by the side work she now call her house pent,
begging was her routine just to collect small cents

Every night she wore a half knitted dress,
ready to sell herself because she was a mess,
every suitor passed her because of her scent,
she was now devastated almost to the edge of death.

One day as she begged beside the street,
her self surrounded by dirt covered in a sheet,
a man saw her and felt pity on her soul,
he took her by her hand and told her come.

Like a good samaritan he clothed and fed her,
told her to clean up for she would be househelp,
she neither rejected nor accepted the offer,
but when evening camethe house was clean.

In years to come she became the talk of town,
The good samaritan married and left her in town,
She was now stable fit for her to bear a crown,
as she is now the director of the biggest orphanage in town

Life may seem cruel at some point in time,
but know that god has a way to change it,
we may live on the edge of of life,
but just believe and it will be alright

Premium Member Counting Ripples

Sadness weeps not for itself
rather from broken windows of a child
where each piece lay by the tracks of despair
where unshaven shadowed men slept in bushes...waiting
to board tomorrow in their continuous circle of failure

it is the broken sidewalk
felt by little feet, through the holes of shoes
one step at a time
the water fountain of white's only
that dripped constantly with hate

the scorched eyes that pierced cotton armor
sewed by a Mother's hand
worn on the body of the bowed head of embarrassment
that walked by pointed fingers of laughter
never accepted, never welcomed

it is the tears that make night longer
the rush of blood following a wounded trail

it is the soldier that fought a hundred fights of respect
and the pounding fist breaking walls
the lonely cry of empty nights
on narrow bridges with a sad moon
counting ripples lapping stones
on the banks of tomorrow
wondering about fate...listening to crows
as they call out the name of darkness
wanting death to appear, without regret

to find a planted stone in an empty field
without footprints...where grass grew
to cover any reason that someone lived

A CAT, A HORSE AND JUDE

I am a tabby, with one green eye and the other blue,
My human mummy always says “North I love you’,
And I reply ‘hey Jude, you’re amazing, I love you too’
She cuddled me, “without you North, what would I do!’

It is Winter, and very cold, we live in Canada up North
Hence my name, I lay by a log fire and constantly purr,
I suddenly spot a mouse running back and forth
But too lazy to move, Jude bends down and strokes my fur.

‘Tomorrow we will go up to the stables and visit Gemini’
Gemini is one of Jude’s race horses, he is pretty cool,
‘Please don’t put me in the saddle, he might take off and I’ll die!’
‘No, dear Tabby, I certainly won’t, know you’re afraid, I’m no fool.’

Gemini heard them coming, got excited and started to neigh,
Jude loved horses, stoked his mane and kissed his silky forehead,
‘Jude is a sweetheart’ said North as she walked away to get some hay,
‘I agree’ said Gemini, ‘I know her well for here I was bred’.

The Poetry of Life

I feel the tiredness of my years, those quiet times when breath appears
in melting mosaic imagery, upon the mirrors of a sea
that only calls so many names, through pious sunlit tortured flames
that scrape themselves away from light, then wander off into a night
of promises and empty eyes, the kind that used to hold surprise
when church songs played in moonlit rain, afraid to wander back again
through open doors and empty hearts, until the rhythm of night departs,
like shadow paintings on a wall, the kind that dance, but never call.

I know the mysticism of time, so much gone by within my rhyme
so much still here, so much to come, yet even time stands still for some,
for hours are bolsters for a head to dream of life and death instead
of dreaming silently away the hours of each poem of day,
life’s poetry holds certain charm, it holds you up from fault or harm,
then brings you back to Earth again, to laugh your joys, or feel your pain,
I write to breathe, I breathe to live, for words hold many things to give
to tortured souls and hearts that grieve, to countless spirits that believe.

I seek the beauty that seeks me, a celtic song, a sleeping sea,
a moonlit road that points the way to everything life needs to say,
a baby’s laugh, a robin’s call, so much to touch me after all,
the souls I meet upon the road, the friends who wish to share my load
to lift me up, to share a joke, when shoulders bow beneath the yoke
but most of all a heart to share, to walk with me to who knows where
to hold me close when it gets dark, to raise me up just like a lark
to lay by me as evenings dim, so much of life is like a hymn...

Tapir

Although I am raising a tapir,
I don't know since when.

I don't know
where he came from or how I wound up in raising him;
I am raising him only because he is there by my side.

He is neither cute nor of amiable nature.
He doesn't sleep while I am sleeping and
feeds from the crumbs of my dreams that have fallen on the floor.

One day the tapir,
although fed by my dreams
he disappeared from my side.

My sleepless nights began from that day,
they really are an unbearable series of chaotic nights,
I was suffering from night after night of evil dreams.

Because of the countless wakeful nights,
I lost my sense to distinguish night from day; became
unable to tell myself as to real or unreal in the standing-still-time.
Wherefore I began to roam aimlessly
searching for myself just like a sleep-walker.

My ego, unknowingly, while I was lost from myself, left me
and stepped into a wasteland no one seems to have ever stepped in;
astoundingly, however, I found an abandoned gold mine
which swallowed heaps of gold diggers' dream, body
and soul standing before me open-mouthed.

Although a gallery was glowing with golden color
it was darker, deeper and damper then the grave.
And when I stepped in the gallery which seems
so feeble that it may collapse at any moment,
I saw my tapir gazing at me gloomy-eyed.

Whether he was sorry or delighted to see me again,
or maybe hated me for not coming earlier to find him;
I was glad, nonetheless, I saw myself reflecting in his pupils.

I felt I had unloaded all those heavy burdens I was carrying all along,
and because my mind became so at ease that I got into a deep sleep,
lay by his side and beat less my heart ceased.

In the most quiet night
I think you lay by my side.
Whispers the music in my ears.
I sing to you sweet lullabies.

The cool breeze passes my window.
I cover my heart that is cold.
I wish my eyes wake up tomorrow.
With your lips kissing my nose.

As I Lay By Your Side

Tonight I lay by your side in absolute joy that I sleep with you this night, I can feel your warmth and how it warms me, how I lay by your side with the thought of only you, when their is no light to see you and your beautiful face appears in my thoughts and shall I dream of you and next to you, as I lay by your side I will secure your protection and nothing will ever harm you, as I lay by your side I can love you this night.

There once was a very old, old dog
Who'd lay by the fire of cracklin' logs
Dreaming mighty dreams
Of years gone by schemes
As his legs moved chasing wild mean hogs

Premium Member Only You

Seductive and bewitching
spellbinding in my dreams
your taste settles on my tongue
your passionate kiss renders me numb
hungrily I taste with greed
 this consuming passionate need.

 I tenderly close my eyes
inhaling your sweet scent
captivated by only you
Your spirit carries my soul
Between heaven and earth
Dangerous yet so beautiful.

Igniting a burning flame
of endless passionate fire
An un-quenching thirst
of love and desire
 feeling the ache deep within
as you lay by my side.
