Best Jailed Poems
Never thought I would adorn prison stripe
of black and white without fashion or flare.
News coverage was an exaggerated hype
that could give me a lifetime to wear.
I proclaim that I am blameless and innocent
with no record of violence anywhere.
My heart is heavy with sorrow for this gent
whose loving soul I did willfully snare.
I didn’t know his heart was weak and frail
from loss of his aged dying wife.
I plead don’t incarcerate me to lonely jail
for the rest of my young passionate life.
I have given my all, consoling lonely men
who have lost a loved one present or past.
Do not belong in jail, haven’t committed a sin
please reconsider your honor, I asked.
The old callous judge scowl faced with denial
sentenced me to life of community service.
Since the old gent died with a smile,
jail was not my rightful justice….

A bridge that lifts into the air
A foggy moat warning beware
Do not cross or you will be
Part of this castles history
That has claimed a lot of victims
Trying every kind of system
To rescue the trapped princess
But there has been no success
To get in this eerie castle
Is becoming quite a hassle
For the knights on sturdy horses
Using all their mighty forces
To break down the door that stands
So precise and highly grand
Attached to dungeons and towers
Men have tried for many hours
But this castle made of stone
Holds a princess all alone
That is blocked from morning light
Locked away and out of sight
Hidden in a cold dark room
Filled with sadness--lots of gloom
Until the day a miracle
Will make this castles doors fall
And open up a world of newness
Without all the pain and blueness
This castle has kept for years
With the secrets and the tears
That will disappear and float
Away under the foggy moat
And the bridge will soon collapse
And happiness is found at last

I'm a hostage and it's great
I'll gladly be your inmate
And put under lock and key
With no choice of getting free
You can take all the control
Of not giving me parole
A life sentence I will take
I promise to never break
Out of this cell I am in
Wanting my life to begin
Chained together now and always
As we walk down the long hallways
Of our hearts so full of care
I'm not going anywhere
I'll be jailed happily
Never wanting an attorney
To defend me from your love
I can never get enough
So book me without a chance
Of freedom from this romance
Charge me for eternity
With love in the first degree

Tears fall like rain due to all the stupid little things left in your mind,
All those things are to remind you of your bad decision to do this crime,
So you will sit in your 5x10 cell and think about why you're doing time,
Soon you will get out and start fresh, What is out there for you to find,
It's all up to you to put yourself out here in the world, Life is blind,
You could have been the best in the start, You missed the signs,
Yes I do feel your pain, It was never too hard to see it in your eyes,
I'm sorry you feel this way, When I'm not there I still hear your cries,
I hate to go so soon, but I've just thrown the rest of my cares into the night...

I am not someone I’d ever want to meet
Storms rage in my head,
Ashes settle on my feet.
My sanity is bleeding,
My hairline slightly receding
My touch a wicked chill,
With a mangy heart and too weak a will
I am not someone I’d ever wish to hear
These eyes sweat screams
As I trudge this crooked line in fear.
I’ll never write “importance”
In a cleaver line or two
I’ll never be defined
As brilliant bold and true
I am not someone I’d ever wish to know
I’ve seen much too much hate
To have love for my foe.
Oh, Hiroshima of the mind
Break and bind me
Blow me up
Throw me up
Sum me up
And set me free
For I’m a tornado of petulance
A hurricane of grief
A tsunami of uncertainty
And there aint no relief.
I feel therefore I am…
…a widow of this world
And no one I’d ever hope to love.

In the shade of his smile,
Echoes much depletedness.
In the depths of his eyes,
Is a spectacle of inanition,
In the chaos of his heart,
Lays one true thing, a lie...
His cocoon of titanium,
A grim cage of no opportunity.
Boundaries set,
Letting nobody in.
His deserted being,
Hidden in the shadows.
Reflecting a destroyed boy,
A hollow shell of who he once was.

Insects
meek mosquito
came, sung, drank blood to live
harmless to harmful they’re killer
in race!
I killed
colored my hand
no blood I kept in them
They were mosquitoes of last night
none knew
CID team
from the insects
charged, seized and punished me
for lifelong; coward I was jailed
sleeping!

Here in this land of tranquility,
blossoming with the fragrance of spring,
lie's the entrance to the land,
that know free man has seen,
down you will burrow,
away from the light,
here you will find it,
a land of such fright,
the people who dwell here,
some wicked, some small,
some will tell nothing,
while others tell all,
few are good,
and those that are not,
will lead you down,
to your resting plot,
but if you chose right,
oh heroes do pray,
you may still yet,
see the light of day,
but if you like coffins,
and the smell of dirt,
then continue to temp,
its only your death,
that you flirt.

You used to be a gentle lover
Memories of that now just hover
Over a cold dark jail cell
You created from the hell
Pills you took broke your spirit
It so hard to try and clear it
Once you start this filthy habit
You are hooked, each day you grab it
Addiction is now your friend
Your whole world comes to an end
Wrecked by a habit you can't break
Each day trying hard to fake
Your love for me was stronger than
The bottles you bought from a "friend"
But the proof is in a file
The damaged you caused its really vile
Abusing me with fists so hard
Always catching me off guard
The black and blue that I now wear
Will soon slowly disappear
But the scars that will soon show
Are staying with me as I grow
Being more cautious the next time
Not falling for another "crime"
Of passion that isn't true
A hard lesson I learned from you

The color of your tongue
Rhymes not with your song:
No longer the deeper red
Of the truly well-fed
But the darker black
Of one in bare lack;
What lies do to the lips
And to The Dishonest that quips;
Your charcoal tongue, a mark of Cain
Spares you not a deserved pain…
And – see? – You‘re shivering
And your voice quavering;
A wetness on your right palm
And inability to remain calm…
Crazily twisting your middle finger,
Your replies beginning with linger:
A seven-word–per-minute,
With a face dully lit…
Only a straight cook at your eyes
And punishment becomes your prize;
Now you’ll have to release The True
Or you shall be jailed without a shoe?

they shuffle them in,
quiet and cold, like bodies
stacked in a morgue, breathing
in the scent of rot, sweat, piss,
dreams beaten down to dust.
this is where they house
the lost and the broken,
the ones who drank too much,
who listened too little,
who were loved even less.
no place left but these walls,
and four bunk beds rusted thin,
men muttering to ghosts
no one else can see.
one falls, another seizes,
and the third—she dies.
inside, it's just a shrug.
another takes his place
and to may die.
