Premium Member High Heel Disaster

I saw a prostitute walking at night,
With high heels, ten inches, oh what a fright;

She lost her balance, crashing,
And her goods she was flashing,

Watching her get up was really a sight.

Modern Day Achilles Heel

this boy -
he is mythology
he is the pomegranate sitting in persephone's
palm -
(looks can be deceiving)

this boy -
he is a mirror
can show medusa what heaven really is -
how pain really feels
but medusa never looks

this boy in the sun -
he is the smoking gun
in the death of icarus;
he is the crime scene in the middle of the ocean

this boy -
this boy is murder
he is cain holding a blade to abel's throat,
holding a mirror up to medusa,
force-feeding a pomegranate to persephone

this boy cuts the snakes off medusa's head
and makes snake-skin boots;
plucks the melted feathers from icarus'
cold hands and makes a throw pillow

this boy is murder when he wants to be;
this boy is murder when he needs to be

Premium Member Red Wedged-Heel Shoe

On top of the pile___shoes upon shoes
One lone wedged-heel red shoe that gives clue
That she knew what her fate would be soon
Aware her soul__spirit would take flight

One lone wedged-heel red shoe that gives clue
The owner was last one to die the death
Aware her soul__spirit would take flight
Memories filled her every thought

The owner was last one to die the death
Terror, horror with every breath
Memories filled her every thought
Of family, friends, life, love__children

Terror, horror, with every breath
Because she knew what fate would be soon
Same as family, friends, love__children
On top of the pile__shoes upon shoes

We are gifted life
for later to be taken
so why emotion
that used to manipulate,
strength built on the fear of it.

Premium Member Hero Or Heel

I created a comic hero one time
A character that disappears in time
Becomes invisible when irate
Ravages everything, but not deliberate.

What if this character happens to everybody?
Perhaps you'll opt to be just your own body.
Some children asked me of the hero's name
He may appear as a villain, I said, under a schlepper name.

Heel

"Heel"

Another language speaks its truth
one’s truth is another’s war
Agamemnon and his achilles

to heel a virtue
to heal a cause
such an odyssey

styx and stones
Clytemnestra, silent
spartan subdued

a loss, a child
innocence stolen, spilt
on another’s alter for Troy

a loss, a sacrifice,
unfavourable weather
a familiar familial war

gods like mortals
mortals like gods
blood, not water spilt

the Odds,

two sides of a coin
another language speaks its truth
one’s truth is another’s war

Iphigénie
spared by Racine

l'orangerie du tribunal
de Versailles,
a muse

(LadyLabyrinth / 2023)

“Dans le fond des forêts votre image me suit.”
RACINE
(“Pursuit”/Sylvia Plath)

Premium Member Heel Toe - Heel Toe

Heel toe, heel toe
Joyfully I follow my muse
Sole slapping shiny black path
Heel toe, heel toe
I bounce on foot's ball
As the air wings below

Heel toe, heel toe
My arms stretch outward
Water bottle raised
Like a totem to the gods
I press my bulk
Into white space

Heel toe, heel toe
Woman at tai chi
Slap, slap. slapping
Shoulders, arms, thighs,
Exuding the confidence
Of her ancestors
I return her smile

Heel toe, heel toe
Child screaming, giggling
Daddy you got me
Feet lift, lift, lifting
Generations
Of parental care and pride
I say a silent prayer

Heel toe, heel toe
Lovers on bikes
Pedals circle, circle, circling
Embracing the space between
Up and down
Around and around
I stride mindfully

Until…
I hear
Spirit’s siren whisper
Time to return, return, return
Heel toe, heel toe, heel…
Water bottle hangs empty
I trudge clumsily, slowly

When…
Returned from journey’s beginnings
Deeply breathe, breathe, breathing
I step into the light
Of home’s grace
Thankful for beginnings and endings

Premium Member Adventures of a Rakish Teenage Heel

In the springtime when the carnival comes to town
On the dizzying tilt-a-whirl and fearsome Ferris wheel,
The haunting calliope in the musical merry-go-round
Calls to mind the adventures of a rakish teenage heel.

On the dizzying tilt-a-whirl and fearsome Ferris wheel,
She snuggles in, grabs my hand, head on my shoulder
Calls to mind the adventures of a rakish teenage heel
Back seat of my sedan in the parking lot, feeling bolder.

She snuggles in, grabs my hand, head on my shoulder
The haunting calliope in the musical merry-go-round
Back seat of my sedan in the parking lot, feeling bolder
In the springtime when the carnival comes to town.

In the springtime when the carnival comes to town
On the dizzying tilt-a-whirl and fearsome Ferris wheel,
The haunting calliope in the musical merry-go-round
Calls to mind the adventures of a rakish teenage heel.

Love-A Heaven and Heel

love is a wonderland.
which gives us the feel of both heaven and hell.
heaven appears when you say"i love you".
heaven appears when you "love me a lot".
heaven appears when you "hug and kiss me".
hell appears when you"fight with me".
hell appears when you"leave me lonely".
hell appears when you "hurt me".
in a second hell will change into heaven when you are near me.
hell will disappear in a second with tears on the eyes.
that tears is the way which takes us to heaven.
heaven appears in the heart and it comes out with a smile in lips.
that smile is the lighting which brings brightness in two members life.
love and choose a life partner. let a lovely life.....

Achilles' Heel

In my armor instead he wore
Now lays dead, my friend of honor
Petroclus, Oh! The grief I bear
Cannot be wiped away like tears.
Long will I suffer his demise;
Lost forever, our mortal ties.
***************************
My lifelong friend lies before me
His emaciated body
Dressed in his “Best Mans” tuxedo
He wore so many years ago
as my best man in our wedding
bearing our golden wedding rings.
 Oh! This human weakness: sorrow
What claim you, all my tomorrows?

Heel Turn To Wave

Sun sprites fill my eyes
crystal brilliance synchronize
all my thoughts in Southern skies
sugar tasting wind~

Nerves of needle nights
condescend the Northern lights
as I turn to say good-bye
and make my way to him...

Heel Over Heads

I would love you
but the water sounds to us differently
I do laugh a lot and you cry secretely
I would love you
but you would climb every high and every small mountain
and I would just sit by the seaside or at least close to the fountain
You say that we don't have a puppy is a pity
And I turn my face to every single I see kitty
I am watching my steps, your eyes are fixed upon the sky
And we do not see the same things clearly that is why

I would love you
wildly
over heels head

But I am a very calm person and I use always flip flops- too bad

(like it but not exactly my fav- that one went to a contest somewhere then I can't post it here now ehh... WW)

On Rigid Heel

You are the smokey love for which I bleed
Between heart's stuttered flutter I begin
To measure fertile 'core survivor' need
When gone to spawn the spectral-dawn of sin.

Pretension eats a little dignity
Then leaves me like a leper on the road,
Left begging for charades called charity
To gain an extra hand to lift a load

Or just a tear from eyes that coldly stare
Where soul and body disappear from view
As I look up, a penitent in prayer,
One last and final time, I will see you

Turn round with twisted face on rigid heel;
Again, you never see the things I feel.

Superman's Other Achilles' Heel

Superman’s Other Achilles’ Heel

By Elton Camp

Truth, justice and the American way
Superman pursued every single day

Bullets bounced right off his chest
Everything that he did was the best

A locomotive was weaker than he
Steel he bent with hands, you see

Able to leap tall buildings at a bound
He was the strongest fellow around

Only time he got into a tight
Was in contact with kryptonite

At least that the way the story’s told
But all forgot that he would grow old

For now his hair has grown thin
He has developed a double chin

X-ray vision won’t work with glasses
His reflexes are now slow as molasses

Firm muscles have turned to jelly
And Kal-El now has a beer belly

No matter how hard he may try
He’s now far too obese to fly

This little story may be hard to believe
An elderly Superman’s hard to conceive
