Best Haughty Poems
Oh how I hate thy haughty hours oh Halloween!
Your thorns and thistles are these terrifying teens
who wear worried looks, walking, wobbling…woeful;
daring doors and deeds that are dreadful.
Cruising for candy: the core of thy course oh Halloween!
kind kids from keen kindred knock their kith and kins,
playful princes paint pure palaces in pale, purple and pink;
Spreading stones and soiling streets with sweets... that stink.
In the hollow of thy haunting hands… oh Halloween!
mighty men melt at the melodrama of masked men…mean;
Trick or treat, terrors or treasures? The termites ask the tall trees,
waiting, willing and working to waste their wares and wears.
Oh how I hate thy hit and run habits… oh Halloween!
Sharing sudden sweets for strangers you have never seen;
heating up the heartbeat of happy husbands and wives,
you turn lively, lovely lads into lurking and longing lives.
As Pharoah thought
Deep thoughts on Thoth,
He became serious
And thought of Osiris.
What of Seth?
What do Anubis and Horus sayeth?
Of Amun and Mut,
And panoplied Nut?
It may take me forever
Mused the Pharoah -
To invent the Alphabet
To honour me and the rest.
So he hit upon a plan
From the carved likeness of man
In relief on a cliff.
Hey, hello - was born the Hieroglyph!
So excited was the Pharaoh
That row upon row
Of ideograms were made
For then and beyond- never to fade.
Way back in Antiquity
Was the hieroglyph's nativity,
From civilization's start
Great works of art.
After five millennia or more
At a light and sound show
The Hieroglyphs stand out
In splendor and shout:
Look on and wonder
On our days of thunder;
When great kings ruled the land
Where you wonder and stand.
Great things we'd tell you
If only you knew
To read papyrus and stone
Like your own Champollion!
Be that as it may
Setting aside our dismay
We venture to now and here
And our version of the ancient fear -
Athazagoraphobic
Is a form of being sick
Where you fear you'll be forgotten
As your memory gets rotten.
To overcome this fear
Modern science was here.
Came our Dennis Gabor
With the fruit of his labor.
- Hologram-
Now you can see light effects
Both form and the texts
With science of the day
Having had it's great say.
But think all over again-
Isn't it plain
Holograms in chips
Are but chipped hieroglyphs?
That some day in future
A post-apocalyptic preacher
Would try to decipher
The hologrammatic cipher?
A Rosetta Stone of old
A better story told
Than this obsolescent chip
Of a "modern" Athazagoraphobic.
Let me wind up this ditty
Of trying to be witty
Holograms and Hieroglyphs
Are both alliterative scripts!

In the land of the old gray mare
Six meters behind the lion’s sweet lair,
There was a gnarly raccoon who did up hair.
He took little money to be absolutely fair.
His hair styles did have a certain flair.
Disappointment in his work was really rare.
A haughty ant went in without a care.
The fashionable raccoon pointed out “your head is bare”.
The aunt huffed off mad, really on a tear.
I feel this story I can reliably share.
You see I was in there, sitting on a tiny stair.
The anger was wafting for hours in the air.
Please do not give me that condescending look, teddy bear.
You after all, are not even wearing underwear.
I urge you to tell this tale better, if you dare.
It comes boldly, like the winter’s cold
Immodest and smug, it can’t be told
It lives in the arrogant and the vain
Always dignified, never one to abstain
It is conceited, like the wind’s howl
Never smiling – leaves it’s dark scowl
It is egotistical beyond the belief
Not ashamed of its stolen relief
It feels so superior – a tear never falls
From its eyes, where it’s honor calls
It reminds the humble of its advantage
Without its haughtiness, can they manage?
It condescends and it says it always wins
But the believer knows it’s the biggest of sins!
The naked ape has no robes,
no crown on kingly head
with arrogance that astounds.
The beastly fear is of being
unthroned by artificial intelligence
it created to boosts its power,
on the third planet from its puny sun
which is just a speck of dust, a grain of sand
in the array of billions of stars
on the beach and dirt of the universe.
The naked ape claims to
know all there is to know about everything
despite its infinitesimally small size,
influence and consequence.
The emperor has no clothes,
and there's nothing or no one,
here or out there,
to tell the king of beasts
otherwise.
It was dawn, cool sunrise,
extended Gleam defeating dark,
Thirst quenching blossoms,
Wet in morning dew;
Blooming buds refreshing self,
displaying arousing glamor;
Rising high florets pride,
Mentally flying high in sky,
None like mine, all are menial;
All flowers together one day,
Opted to compete,
Jasmine got rewarded best;
Cocky jasmine wasn't content yet,
Ego whooped 'stinking rose',
Laudly uttered, " accept challenge,
Who has beauty, who is ugly,
Who has aroma, who stinks bad,
You are no worth, look no good";
"Look at me!
My aroma radiates, raptures environ,
My look lures all feel touched",
'Stinking rose' explains in cool,
"I ain't fury nor I jealous,
My name is garlic too,
Loved by people who want health,
Chemicals inside stimulates all,
You attract but I stimulate,
No health no beauty is rule of law;
I am major source of food,
No food is complete,
With no clove of mine;
Daily a clove is enough,
keeping sick away from you;
Don't be haughty O' outward beauty;
Beauty isn't only what you see,
Isn't only what you smell,
It's quality too;
beauty rises from inside,
Sweetens heart and soul,
makes feel touch in heart,
Healthy people always happy,
Think positive live positive,
Make environment good for all,
All have beauty all are good,
Its you only you, how you view;

Haughty hefty Helga has healthy hatred
Igniting ignorant Inga’s inebriated idiocy
Justifying jealous Julie’s juvenile judgements
Kindling crafty Kara’s crazy critter-like craftiness
Leaving Lonesome Larry loathing lofty lying Leland
Making Malicious maltreated Mallory manageable
Nasty negativity nonchalantly noticeable in Neverland.
The Cat
the truth I do not stretch or shove
the haughty cat looks down from above.
she struts about with nose held high,
and glares at me with disdainful eye.
Snotty haughty sea turtle.
Stuck up
Barely speaking to other sea creatures
Much ado about nothing
Snotty haughty sea turtle
Mean to others
For decades
Now trying to pretend you are not haughty?
Snotty haughty sea turtle
Waving now
Pretending you have a heart
Might as well go back into your shell.
Snotty haughty sea turtle.
Too late
Too arrogant.
Too you.
Haughty Nation
“They crap in our forest”, a young man yelled
the Roma people had pitched a tent near the woods
where people of this tolerant nation go hunting.
They came here the people from afar to seek work
but are usually met with contempt and mistrust.
They came in the hope of getting a share
in this nations’ largesse, but ran into racism
unbecoming pride like it was their cleverness
that brought up oil from the bottom of the sea.
Now, instead of being unassuming, they became
reactionaries giving pompous advice to less
fortunate countries.
“They crap in our forest”, nourishing an imbecilic
nation, that due to undeserved riches has lost
contact with reality and a kind- heart- ness.
A haughty guy, closing his eyes,
Thinks that he is very wise.
Building castles in the skies,
After false prestige, he flies.
Advice of others he bluntly defies,
As a man of half knowledge, he dies.
Haughty
Selfish boy how haughty you are
Caring not others and so others far
This is not nice
Selfish boy how naughty you
This is not nice !
That is horrible how selfish you are
Selfish boy how mischievous you are
Caring not for anyone you are
First of my poem please comment !
The couple wanted to eat at an exclusive restaurant.
Wife said, “Let’s act like we are haughty and stuck up.”
Husband was all in; so they ate with pinkie fingers up.
They were ultra-rude to the waiter; noses in the air.
They sent their food back twice; a chef came out.
He ordered them to leave; the entire place clapped.
Even the PTA president and her husband.
There would be HE double toothpicks to pay later.
Haughty queen of hearts stepped out of the page
Onto dog, who was too stuck up to feel a bit of rage
They traveled the avenue, with noses in the air
Freezing strangers in their tracks with their glare
Dog liked this woman who had attitude like him
He had previously been owned by happy old Jim.
Jim never put his nose up or acted superior to any.
He liked this new way, feeling better than many.
