Premium Member I Do Not Hang On To Bodies

She’s dead they said!
She I thought. Who is she?
I stared straight down at a frumpy old thing.
On the bed, a lump, so dead.

Was that me? I asked my spirit guide.
My guide laughed; he always loves it
That it takes me a while to recognize my flesh body
Between life times.

Let’s go figure it out, he suggested.
We watched a video; my entire life as a woman.
As a she; I was still trying to get over it actually.
I was a mother and a grandmother? What was that like?

You don’t remember? He asked me.
He is amazed at my lack of long-term memory.
My short term memory is not that great either.
I do not hang on to bodies with much admiration or reverence.

We sat around watching other people’s movies.
These are your possibilities he told me.
Parent possibilities. It was all coming back to me now.
I do not want to be a girl! I told him sternly.

He laughed. Impregnating me as a boy, but the egg split.
So I came back around as a twin.
I was damned mad when I saw that the other twin was a boy.
And here I was a girl again. Some idiot doctor slapped my butt, and
I could not stop bawling!

Hang On

When life is filled with pain, hang on,
for tomorrow may bring comfort
and who knows joy may come your way
don’t despair, life is uncertain.

Be it a greater hell, believe
When life is filled with pain, hang on,
And if it doesn’t, don’t despair.
Times not right for surrender.

Give time its due and see the end
what’s wrought in store is yours to know
When life is filled with pain, hang on.
Surprise things happen all the time

There’s time to fight and time to know
when it’s foolish to continue.
But till then give sweet hope its chance
When life is filled with pain, hang on,

Hang On a Lil Longer

The green
Marlboro light in her fingers
Smoke shifting in the air
The wind blowing through
The combini flags
Waving surrender
We stay quiet
In the dark night
If one of us speaks
A single word
Everything will overflow
Endlessly
Nothing can stop
The tears
The truth
The taste
From flowing
In our mouthes
Keep on pretending
Just gotta
Hang on a
Lil longer
Have a
Lil more patience
Have a
Lil more trust
Wait
I see it
There's the light
At the end
Of the tunnel
Just hold on

death is very clear
                 not like blurred reality
               where snags just appear
           and if strings remain attached
              we can find the puppeteer

Hang On

When life hands you a heavy load
and your left feeling like a warted toad
You've been knocked down flat on your back
And feel that you are under great attack

Things start to mess with your mind
The longer you dwell in it you get further behind
You feel that now you've come to the very end
Not realizing that all you have to do is begin again

Starting over again can be a big challenge at first
But staying in a downtrodden state can be even worse
You are much greater than you choose to see
So stand up strong and become what you were meant to be

Yes hard times will come but you must hold on
The more you work through it the sooner it'll be gone
There's been a purpose for your life since the day you were born
So visualize that thing and stay strong, don't let the negative leave you torn
From dusk to dawn as night turns to Morn, never give up just hang on.

Hang On

Hang on, stay put
Just plain: we stay one and we are set
It’s like holding on to our seat
No backing out
Fasten our seat-belt
Back to back, side by side
It’s survival, I bet
Though we go out
We soar to our loves’ height
And I am sure our path is correct
Hanging on is definitely right
Hang on, have trust!

Hang On Mr Reaper

Hang on Mr. Reaper we weren’t quite done!
Couldn’t you, possibly, sidestep just one?
Give us more time and I promise you this.
Each day will be savored and sealed with a kiss.
No time to waste as the minutes are done.
Along with the hours, days and the months.
Now all that is left is a big gaping hole.
Where once there lived such a fiery soul.
We’ll fill it with grief, sadness and tears,
As the penny’s drop and we realize our fears.
That each and everyone living today
Will eventually have to be on their way.

Hang on to your panties, it's happy time season

Hang On... I'M Coming!

Hang on... I'm coming,
but by the time i get there
we'll already be dead
can't you smell gasoline nightmares
and taste betrayal?
But when i get there,
you better believe the life
i hold will be given to one
and admired by all
Hang on...I'm coming
thanks to tele-speed,
thoughts arrive before
consideration, and you'll
be lucky if the eulogy
is read with salt-water
The pastor doesn't want to say,
but religion is wine only
good by earlier years
The newer the bitter
In my coffin I will lay
surrounded by lace
and earth,
Hang on...I'm coming!
so check the living and cross
them off with a dry pen
ink doesn't exist
sins can just as easily be erased
Hang on...Jesus is talkin'
say what? Oh! we're
all gonna get it now!
He's disappointed,
in the faithful few
he never believed in
but still talks to
Hang on... My life
is ending right now
Thank you!... cancer,
for eating my soul
and skimming scraps
for the imps you admire
chemotherapy might help, but
I think... I ...
would like... to Hang on
or Hang up

Fate Tends Hang On a Knife-Edge

All because of that single decision
To grasp that grate and breathe in the ethereal skies above
Rather than
To let go of that grate and suffocate in the foul sewage below

Because of what he chose
This is what he is

Independent
Not
Incarcerated

Whole
Not
Wounded

Confident
Not
Confused

Slipping off of the rusted edge, on which side will he land?

Brilliant
Not
Bleak

Courageous
Not
Cowardly

Relieved
Not
Remorseful

This is what he is
Because of what he chose

To grasp that grate and breathe in the ethereal skies above
Rather than
To let go of that grate and suffocate in the foul sewage below
All because of that single decision

Now, what if he wasn’t resolved in his decision?
Simply read the poem in reverse.

Hang on sister

I’m glad I saw you, made the effort
Left all the baggage behind and arrived
With an open heart. Still unsure why I did?
You’re just like how I remember mum.
Four-feet nothing, plump and round
I’m getting there, it’s what aging does.
So glad I called, unannounced, I didn’t
Give you time for an excuse and no
Time for my excuse.
We’ve never had a meal together.
Never met on Christmas day. We forgot
About Christmas cards and birthdays
We should have done more, but neither
Of us likes inconvenience or crowds
But?
Times caught us now. There’s a tear in my
Eye. Unexpected to be honest, but it wells
Waiting to fall. Hope it’s not today, hope
It’s never at all.
Three score years and eleven, that’s where you
Are, I’m ten years behind, but in a fast car.
I don’t want it to be today. It’s raining and grey.
Hang on, try to find a few extra miles, perhaps
We can alter the past a little. Hang on sister.

If you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot and damn well hang on
Wise words from a mangy old dude whose still zinging along
You may be dangling
But keep on cackling
Till the damn rope breaks, serenade us guys with a song

Does Life Hang On a Tiny Tread

Does life hang on a tiny thread,
haven't many been misled?
Discouraged? One needs the courage
to achieve the impossible!
Decry fate, never fling your sword
to wound a moribund soul already bleeding;
control your irrepressible rage, doesn't healing
begin when reasoning is finally deployed?

Does life hang on a tiny thread
as the breath, our lungs exhale?
Would one prefer the silence of Haden,
over the freedom of choices, or vale
yourself as a worthless martyrdom
that is simply a deplorable word?
Has your bottle run out of rum...
realizing your sin is unforgiven?

Does life hang on a tiny thread
when one succumbs to unfounded fears,
and mutters the words of a drunk?
Cowardice and valor don't match a bit,
look deep down and see how you have sunk,
no hands can lift you out of that abyss;
never dismantle the steel armor you have wrought:
victory is not attained without bloodshed!

You may be dangling
