Please keep me from falling
I’m a hair on your head.
Don’t leave me some morning
All alone on our bed.

Don't let me be parted
Or removed from my roots.
Please keep me from falling
To be trampled by boots.

Don’t take me out swimming
But left floating behind.
Gargling in a pool drain
I would find most unkind.

If I should live to be
Your last hair when you're dead
I’ll drop in the coffin
To curl up by your head.

Minions,
           determine little creatures
In the wide screen
That stir lots of trouble with their funny little slurs
Don’t know if they are his or hers
They look like yellow Hot Tamales jelly beans
Wearing little blue bebe overalls
           that are always clean
Tiny little hands and feet
           black gloves and shoes
They are always full of motion
Gargling sounds
           feeling free
Between their little face goggles they wear
Their only difference is one or two big eyes
Excursion to who knows where
Their slapstick-infused shenanigans little Minions
In the spotlight dancing
          Believe me!
That keep the little ones entranced and in their seats
         They wiggle and they giggle
                  when the Minion wants
                                   Ba….na….na!!!
I wonder what they dream
If they drive each other bananas
Determine little creatures
          in the wide screen

                                 Ba….na….na!!!

That one lost their tongue
somewhere along the way
long ago, the sound,
doesn’t come out the same
anymore, so they roll it up
like a carpet containing
a nakedly dead body
of blunt words
like unplucked violins
untuned to how it all
really works
begging to be heard,
and the flowery prose,
purple and bruised
like over-ripe fruit
teeth rottingly sugary sweet,
is now seen
day-in-and-night-out,
struggling with ease
way too much
like madness overgrown,
the dense overgrowth
of language unspoke
hides glittering gems
blushing shamefully
more exquisite than
the now daily averies
all penned in babel
that flow in glass jarring
anticipated patterns
of suffocating
paisley prose,
the simple beauty
in the plainly spoke,
never again
to be seen nor heard,
the mercurial metaphors
birdfeed scattered
to the begging migrations
of petulant bluebirds
naughty nightingales
honey trapping
wet-beaked hummingbirds
all beating hearts
with their wild wind flapping,
tossing sticks and stones
to those tongue thirsty
kiss lapping, lap dancing
love parched, gargling
swallows

At school I must have been naive,
for I was told I must achieve.
Add up, subtract even divide,
equations, algebra must be tried,
Nouns, verbs I had to learn,
adjectives were my concern.
In French we should pronounce our ‘R’s’
By making gargling sounds that purrs!
In geography I learnt of places,
of different people with different faces.
In science the Bunsen Burner reigned,
‘twas Latin though I mostly feigned.
We had PE and sports of course,
but rugby I wanted to divorce,
where Neanderthals often preyed
on smaller boys just too afraid.

Health and Safety didn’t figure,
in playground games revered with vigour.
Conker’s, marbles, a cricket ball,
never ever mattered at all.
We went to school in spite the weather,
wasn’t shut for snowfalls ever!
You ate your lunch despite the taste,
for we were not allowed to waste!

Teachers parade in a black cape,
to which there was just no escape.
Lining up where nothing’s spoken,
the fear meant no silence broken.
We enter class in silence thus
or *caned if you dare make a fuss.

I’m older now, in later years,
I’m not deranged, I fought those fears.
I must admit I wouldn’t swap
my school days for this modern lot,
Where mobile phones now reign supreme,
No thanks I wouldn’t be that keen

* caned was a corporal punishment

On Nights Like This

Half of the world is asleep

And black bellied clouds rest upon the mountains

Sending rain to punish my roof

While heaven complains against the ebony night

Shadows dark as evil sprawl beneath the trees

And lovers laugh, dodging puddles as they run

Gutters gush, gargling the torrent

As half of the world is asleep on rumpled beds

While creatures watch from boughs and burrows

The sycamore slumps beneath the storm

Where a hawk is stranded on a sheltered limb

And streams and brooks boast beyond their bends

The scene is solemn beyond the window

Where rivulets slide, blending into each other like lovers

A glaring bolt slides over the peaks, through the clouds

And the clouds complain about it a moment after

As half of the world is asleep, but not me

I have too much forgetting to do about nights like this

Premium Member Two Drops of Tears

*****;;; *****

l.
tears rip at the seams of memories’ betrayed trust
like liquid fists gushing through desolate waterfalls
gargling bloodied sobs upon lungs lumped with crust,
wet, wet on crumbled sagas of tortured, brick walls

this is the pang of swallows falling dark… the pain,
of a painful tear ravished by sins doubly committed
by spiked wrists slit by eyes’ deceit on pelted rain,
cracks of tinctured vapors stain these suds not quite acquitted

ll.
still, there are tears robed in delight of embroidered nights
and perching there, radiance’s rafters spin overlapping joy,
swarming the soul with giant suds whitening all whites
as giggles lift cottoned pillows only love’s fullness can buoy

i think of rekindled homes knighted by flutes’ ripeness
where children paddle days virginal without attic of fears
a maze of hoisted jaunts open zipped stars’ need for madness,
in times marinated gingerly sweet by life’s lush beat... such are tears,

they cleanse all. they crawl out of soul’s dual spears.

Le Vacance Pretentieuse: Your Favourite Tv Programmes, Now Even Less Understandable

Gargling, a gargoyle’s groan gulps
From the bilingual blackness of TV,
A clockwork advertisement pulps
Knowledge into your worn mind free
Of charge. Nothing but gobbledegook
Everywhere, an insistent humming bee
And you just volunteered for the hook.
You can’t understand it, but still can see

That it’s appealing. Someone wants it.
We now return you to your film with Mr T,
But subtitled. There’s nothing to do but sit,
enjoy – all else is static - and sweatily agree.
Your mind is a sad wastebasket of re-runs;
Rom-coms galore, dubbed films about keys,
Action films with loud explosions and guns.
Poor translation aside, I enjoy foreign Telly.

How Interesting Is a Two Curved Toucan

See: a Marriage Worthy, Letters Offered To An Aching Bride

"See: A Marriage Worthy, Letters Offered to an Aching Bride"

See
The blood of man
drips from his fingers

note the true
Son of Man
No loud crimson

cardinal feathers
gently caressing
psalming minds

No White Hat
nor flag in hand, yet
Purple hearted

when War came
carrying in his
arms crucifixion

nails for bullets
in palms holy human
outstretched

lobbying armies
and splitting sides
dripping red, and

blue bruised, the once
good book holders
debating defense

four seraphim and
their regiments
glistening oily black

misunderstood magi
with their presents
now fierce and hell bent

whirling dervish
baptising all those
heaven sent

dripping their fire
burning gold,
myrrh and frankincense

transfusing the just
the bled out pacifists
now all undressed

Holy Sees truth
for what it means
now all unblessed

the stripping of brides
standing firm
in their pure virginal beliefs

they come hymn singing
riding astride
the four horsemen

caught up in
a marriage
worthy

of an honour guard
attention arching
Apocalypse

The 3 unsealed

slow letters offered
to an aching bride
to freely choose

her husband’s
best side

(LadyLabyrinth / 2020)

"If you close your eyes
and you pick a side
Will you follow blindly
into the darkness?
If you close your eyes
and you pick a side
Will you find yourself
broken and heartless?
In a world on fire,
in a world on fire"

"If in some smothering dreams,
you too could pace
Behind the wagon
that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes
writhing in his face,
His hanging face,
like a devil’s sick of sin;
If you could hear,
at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from
the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer,
bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores
on innocent tongues,—
My friend, you would not tell
with such high zest
To children ardent
for some desperate glory,
The old Lie:
Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori."

Carbonated Carbonisation

A mystical mayhem is a deity left undisturbed. Yet in corrosive eras even a sharp shrapnel can shatter even the most strongest of iron souls. Interesting is it? The formations. The planned plane. The corrosive killers. Plan not a wield upon a shield. And merely hide and lounge behind a base curve. Expect no larger ten weeks of a kip is neither a lay down sausage nor is it an elongated pillow public pillow case. Haha to that. And benign is the duties of the metre long united slumber chain. A Deep Fried Chicken Burp

A fried chicken burp can be akin to gargling a pear juice by a slip stream. But do not slip. Or wave with both hands whilst drinking. Dangerous deadly dares derive during demonic demonstrations. And the interjecting spittle from a giant llama. Towering over trees. With the neck stuck in clouds. Very great to watch formation of sky from that angled position. And quite likely to witness unidentified flying crafts. Well so says sloth in the high branches. Great. Fantastical frameworks framing frilly frogs. In ball rooms. Globally. Grin then. Pleasurable synchronization of parade of a wealthier under suit. And wobbling along came the strawberry moose dressed in a tall glass with a creamed cherry hat. Chats away to the dipping spoon. With a triangular shaped mouth. Hahaha derived dog detail. Hahaha wavelength wobbling wonder. Hahaha geranium garden growing growling gates. Hate not a hidden haven.
