Unfinished Love Affair
It's been so long since I've seen you.
Don't know how or why you remain,
At the forefront of my memory,
But you do and will always remain.
Time has passed, and the years have aged us.
What can replace the time we spent,
In our younger days.
Talking, dreaming and planning a life.
Laughing and hoping as time passed us by,
Our friendship would be never-ending.
Well, the years have passed,
We have all gone our separate ways,
But the talks we had,
And the dreams we dreamed still linger today,
As unfinished dreams and incomplete endings.
The dreams we shared,
Still bring joyous tears when I think,
How time has slipped past.
But yet I see your face as I did then,
Beaming with life, smiling and carefree.
Those were the days of happy tears,
And unfinished love affairs.
Herself was lost
So far away
So far inside
Could she be rescued?
A part of her
Understood the mission.
Another part
Rolling its eyes
Resign or rescue?
Muse came out suddenly
Shaking her about
Kicking about the severity
Herself not easy to find
But worth the mission.
Muse grabbed her by both hands
And pulled her to forefront of her truth.
Body not as important as
Mind, attitude, creativity,
And imagination.
She roused for a second.
Her eyes open.
Thinking for the first time
That maybe a save was
Possible. Muse smiling.
The tiger, majestic and proud
Fearless, strong and solitary
A predator by nature
Domineering yet wary
The dove, gentle and harmonious
Passive and apprehensive
A free spirit by nature
But always on the defensive
The jungles most perilous feline
Encounters the fragile dove
A most unlikely pair
Yet they have found love
Their journey will be a challenge
Obstacles in every direction
A never ending conflict
Between rage and affection
Each possesses, what the other lacks
Complimenting and yet taunting
A compromise of character
Is what they are wanting
She wants his intemperance
He wants her domestication
Together seeking a compromise
In search of salvation
The dove cannot tame him
Or dismiss his need for the hunt
She must accept who he is
Placing him at the forefront
The tiger cannot disengage her
Or deride her passion to nest
He must accept who she is
Keeping her abreast
The future lies uncertain
For the tiger and the dove
But they can conquer anything
If they just remember to love
Thunder rolls in the distance, lightning jags across the sky,
all around the heavens are angry … a fiery strike becomes the eye.
With little rain, and tinder forest, flame reaches out for what is near,
rising through gum and wattle, as undergrowths all disappear,
hell rises up to the heavens; fear on four legs run or die,
sparkling ash swirls to the forefront; smoke quickly fills up the sky.
The roar is a warning to all. Don't hesitate! Run, crawl or fly -
When confusion has ended; destruction and shattered there lie
leaving all eerie; blackened! Scarred! A lifeless bleak charcoal waste,
with layered ash casing the soil. Each living soul has been displaced …
Listen! … The birds are returning. New green appears on blackened tree.
The forest floor is changing; sweet new growth swarms abundantly,
There's movement ahead in the distance - returning is the kangaroo!
Where lush picking is for the taking, as this forest returns anew …
The circle of life is completed. Banksia, grass tree will soon return.
Clematis and orchids will show their heads ...
… and thrive ‘til the forest - is once again ready to burn.
Sing, O Goddess, of my petulant wrath.
That which I’ve failed to address for so long.
Speak and guide my hand to express
The words of extremity needed to voice:
Passions of violent nature performed.
I have such strange verses to bare.
My hands are quaking with unrealized strokes
Of genius that may yet flow forth from I
My tongue is wet with wanton wanting,
Breathing, believing in all I deplore.
I forefront this painstaking proclamation
With pretenses of seduction and sweet
Manipulation. I hope you get my meaning.
I have strained and sullied my own name
To achieve a stage of pure expression.
I pray to the goddess of art and music
That she may pluck my strings as her
Kithara, her disclosure, her discord.
Perhaps this line will liberate me.
I could stop this senseless seduction
Of myself to share my mind in this message
Of either vindication or virulent codependency,
With either pretense my name is upon
The dotted line, cosigning this dissent.
It matters not where my influence lay.
Who listens, and who may do as I say.
My only concern I to briefly appeal
To some vague aesthetic ideal that I feel.
And I think it may be important.
Because I feel it. And it is so alive.
Mesmerized clarity
builds to crescendo
never more hollow than these
Colors the forefront
blanket expressions
narrowly missing disease
Outlying chambers
kaleidoscope distance
maneuvering playfully lost
The bearded man crumbles
along the great coast
nascency carelessly tossed
One can but ponder
diligent details
tragic circumference of light
The searing is scored
malevolent mischief
never abandoning flight
Belligerence echoes
along the dark pathway
silently centering in
The mindless enigma
deception of thunder
the meadowlark's shadows begin
3/9/19
the war was well
on its way
mottled and coddled
battled and bottled
before the
front was modeled
the frontline was hobbled
the forefront was cobbled
dark hearts be doubled
light hearts be troubled
the war is well
on its way
What wondrous things await
As long as we are still alive
Even a day dawning with gloom
Can yield a tremendous surprise
Like hearing from an old friend
When you thought you’d been forgotten
Can change the texture of your day
To the touch of soft spun cotton
I keep this notion forefront
Especially when I feel
I’m searching for a clearing
In a forest of steel
She inches along in an excruciating way when I am in a hurry.
I wait for her to catch up, but she speeds past.
Always on her own schedule, not caring about my feelings.
She is a contention every weekday morning.
I stare at numbers in the afternoon, wondering why she is crawling.
She makes me crazy some days; other days I am excitedly anticipating her.
She cares not about my feelings, doing things on her internal schedule.
Bringing the calendar and the clock into the forefront of her own table.
I have to admire her tenacity, and her confidence. She is time.
Wishes, dreams, hopes, joys, ideas and loves
Do not waste them or scoff them or throw them away
Allow them to find a safe place in your heart for an instrumental reason.
Revere them, listen to them, appreciate and respect them by nurturing them.
Believe in them as you believe in the changing seasons,
Believe in them as you believe in the goodness of children.
Hold your hopes and dreams in the forefront of your determinations so you
Can live the most fulfilling life plan you could ever envision to live on earth
Believe with child-like faith that you will do and be and have what you seek.
Let your, dreams, hopes, joys and loves work their magic while you slumber.
The joys and delights your soul craves to feel spiritually complete are recognized instantly and happily as absolute truth by your soul-mind.
Your most sacred task on earth is to listen to your heart.
Believe in your hopes, dreams, and goals. When you honor them, they will make you feel spiritually whole, loved, and at peace with yourself and others.
The ability to honor yourself, your ideas, and your dreams
will lead you toward that mystical magical nirvana path of love and peace.
All is within your grasp, if you listen to your heart and believe.
Wishes, dreams, hopes, joys, ideas and loves.
God brings them to you.
Your only task is to believe.
Honor your heart.
Believe.
Marigolds, roses, lilacs, cone flowers, bluebells, lily of the valley
They uplift my spirits, bring God into my forefront, show me love
The fragrance of these beauties is surpassed only by their hope
The optimism in the garden brings me into the forefront of goodness
Their colors entice my imagination, and revitalize my artist’s eye
I reach for colors, thinking of them immediately. Lilac- lavender,
Lavender – purple, red, orange, pink – marigolds and roses.
Flowers bring butterflies, bees, lady bugs, dragonflies and faeries.
Their blossoms delicate and gorgeous, yet hardy and resilient.
The wasps and hummingbirds dive into them with eager delight.
Flowers change my spirit, help my attitude, enhance my goodness.
Flowers uplift me, giving me hope, reminding me their maker is here.
The maker of flowers has utilized a palette of gorgeous colors.
He has instilled fragrances and aromas found nowhere else.
He has given us flowers, so we will be reminded of the rainbow
And also of his promise to the world.
I have been away
not in myself however
within my heart
death tracks across my
persona like a gigantic
storm with thunder
and lightening at the forefront
it takes on an almost human
form as it crushes against my
serenity trying to distroy my
sweet self
as my thoughts encumbered
ever pushing downward the
humanity which has been mine
there are lessons here to
be learned and bittersweet
medicine to injest with only
myself to forcibly swallow
one can never know when
and what to feel when the
reaper comes to call
it was not for me allthough
at times i wished it so
the endless days and nights
have passed with little tolerance
afforded by this misery known as
death
suddenly almost magically
a calming gentle token of
relief came forward and
administered by the hands
of love for me alone to consume
i now know that we all
must feel and endure the
pain of emptiness and sorrow
for it is the human condition
that requires us to but we
need not take this road alone
truly the days and nights
ahead will bring new life
and renew the happiness
where once deaths dwelling
place visited
there wil be moments assured
when the darkness will intrude
again and now having lived through
the pain i know the warmth of the
suns embrace
i will always try to look ahead
and remember only the love...
United Nations, United Nations
What an oxymoron!
What an oxymoron!!
The platitude goes-
‘United we stand’
In the UN,
How erect we stand!
How erect we stand!!
We are *****erectus
Aren’t we?
This genocide-friendly unity of nations
With extra-care tending
The weeded garden of poison-trees.
When Hutus and Tutsies blood-bathe
The UN closely observes the situation,
When Israel unchilds, unhusbands and unfathers
The Palestinians, the UN
Appeals to both the parties to exercise restraint.
When the Theravada fanatics exterminate the Rohingyas
And the West-engineered Arab Spring
Tears the Middle East asunder,
The UN condemns and condemns and condemns!
O UN what a paradox you enflesh,
Bringing to the forefront
The anti-thesis -
‘United we stand, divided we fall’
To what insurmountable height you have taken
The human(un)kind, we have seen
Now anti-thetically we would like to fall
As ‘fair is foul, foul is fair’.
In your acronymic form
When in lower case
How prophetically you become
An ominous prefix!
UN, UN you are non-existent
An ethereal entity, a papier mache;
Ailan’s death has finally declared
You biologically dead.
Let this cenotaph be
Placed on top of UN HQ:
Here once architecturally stood
The divided conglomeration of Nations – the UN,
A metonymic entity
Proudly pronouncing human unyokability.
RIP, dear UN.
I held my breath to protest the gloom of winter's frosted sprawl.
There, the eloquence of nature was surveiled as it flourished.
It became more than just a vested visit camouflaged among
The trees.
Spring had lastly met winter's boasting at the gates of ultimate
Frosted glory. No more everlasting punishing winds freezing pains
And flagrant frozen flurries favored at the forefront of winter's
Cool arrogant accusations.
Nature bought and brought the best of spring thirsty and bursting
Onto the scene with peacock feathers and much fanfare. There,
The awaited train. The arrival caused heaven's screams. It's
Survival meant more to dream. Spring was everything.
The gates were thawed, the sprawl ignored all were invited to the
Ball. Finally, a grin as winter has set. It's WRATH has passed.
Spring bloomed and new was BEAU. I exhaled
Just sittin alone at my barstool
yes, darling, I'm feelin real fine
and I confess, I admire your dress
yet I have to withhold the next line.
Cause there ain't many days till my breakdown
this darkness is comin on strong
I'd love to reptile to your come hither smile
but my downtime will soon be along.
You truly are lovely, sweet darlin
your red lips and golden hair crown
are leadin me into temptation
but the whirlpool will pull us both down.
Cause there ain't many days till my breakdown
this darkness is comin on strong
I'd love to reptile to your come hither smile
but my downtime will soon be along.
So mosey on down to another
to give you the life you desire
leave me alone, to sort out my own
if joined we'd both end in hellfire.
Cause there ain't many days till my breakdown
this darkness is comin on strong
I'd love to reptile to your come hither smile
but my downtime will soon be along.
Entry - A Town called "Rotgut"
This started with the refrain and was going to be a sad country song
about depression, but then it met this contest and morphed, I'm not sure into what. Regardless, I hear steel or maybe slide guitar, in the forefront drowning
out the lyrics for the good of all.
