Thoughts flood my mind
when I’m alone
Close to my computer
I am sin prone
These flames of lust
they flicker within me
Images intertwined
begging me to see
This empty eroticism
promises of ecstasy
I know this is my prison
still I don’t want to be set free

Curved and supple
together bodies mingle
My eyes long to breath in
a promised tingle
This inward hunger
begs me to enter
That feeling of heat
grows within my centre
Firm supple images
naked and slender
No drugs or alcohol
but it’s still a bender

With my physical release
a strangled scream
Within a moment
emotions extreme
Shame overtakes me
eyes look away
Temporarily satiatiated
but I’m far from okay

I can’t forgive myself
and I’m too ashamed to pray.

Is this just a male issue? I’m curious to hear your thoughts. This poem was written as a result of meeting with a men’s group and the subsequent conversation.

The closer to heaven we become dreams are born pure
love the finest silk beams ivory on this earth's breath

Dewdrops weep for the night as starlight crystals drop down
amazing grace under a silver chalice drinking

From the moonshine is where the song sings loudest glory
drunken echoes return over the mountains smiling
tonight the moon finds peace casting shadows in her wake

The candle flickers in front of me
A mesmerizing flame to watch
Sometimes moving, sometimes still
As life can be so busy, then so quiet

Sometimes we flicker, sometimes we stop
To notice the simple things
Maybe the rhythm of our breath
Time is what we make of it

To shine, to give, to move, to be still
--- To be who we are ---

Flickers of Time

FLICKERS OF TIME
dear dear one
It's now clocking seven years
Since you left me in this maddening crowd
Lonely as a grape tree in the yard
Fearing that some strong wind may one day knock me down
I still lay in melee
Hoping that some day
The wind will blow you back to me

When you left me
The world seemed a void
I was enclosed with fear
I became numb
Never did it cross my mind
That I had a second chance at living
But as long as I was breathing
I realized I had no excuse to life
I still lay in melee
Hoping that someday
The wind will blow you back to me

Nevertheless, I composed myself
Basing on how you nurtured me
You always told me
That I am a woman of inner strength
And a great deal of courage
And if only I I live, I will make you proud
You always said that I am a variant woman
And you see remarkable greatness in me
Whenever your words echo in my brain
I wake up in the darkness to bring the light
Hoping that some day
The wind will blow you back to me

Seven years have now flown
And I realize that even the strong wind
Will never blow you back to me
I am not sorry
I will never have you back
But I am glad that you are with God
Now if only I could hear you sing to God
I would be the happiest of all creatures
Seven years of your absence
But you still lie in my heart

As Wind Blows Softly--Single Candle Flickers Tis Light

As breeze blows softly
tis candle flickers in the wind
bring me back once again
to the night...
two hearts tis beating as one
together.. sweeetness of love
forever given by God above

tis I sit.. at a table
within a room
filled with couples
at each tables
twas one single candle
lights dim-down low
music playing
softly melodies flow

tis as I watched
couples dance
sweeetness of love
beholding true romance
two hearts moved..
swayed unto the music played
out on the dance floor

tis as I wait..
time passes by
sweetness whispers
within the wind..
 softness music plays...
tis single candle..
flickering in the wind

tis puts me in mind
of how time flys...

as times many sit..
as breeze blows by
no-one knows..
where tis be..
flicker of single
candle of light
comes within thee
forever beholding
Sweeetness of love
only given by God above

as Now tis time..
as many let pass by
as moment tis flys
Come behold
God's Everlasting Light
Only given through His Son
Jesus.. our Divine Christ..
become eternally born-again
tis Holy Spirit comes within
Forever tis be...
Beholding Sweetness - Glorious Love
Given only by God's Grace..
Eternal place in Heavens above

Come to Jesus
Receive.. His Eternal Light..
Everlasting Life.............

Flame Flickers

When the flame of passion
flickers out.
Seducing the mind & ravaging
the body.

Sweeping the rhyme of reason
precluding nothing of the
mind's ability.
Only desire can reignite
the flame of burning passion.

The unique ticking & clicking of
a timed artist's internal clock.

Sediments of heart impede
 causing sentiment of
 thought.
The mythic raises the bet
then doubles down
 drawing blind faith,
 to one's own unique
abilities.

The artist worldwide seeking philosophical philosophies of one's own
creative genius.
Greatest scientific discovery
 ever the science of
own self.
Yelding the greatest masterpiece
of a timed artist in life.
Humming exhilarating symphonies
of spiritual words playing
philosophical verbs.

Tuning extraordinary words
to the pitch of whistling
 harmonies in precarious
 flavours.

Savoring every last tuning
pitch tuned without a hitch
Every feverish pitch.

You'll never miss the
explicit words sounding
 extraordinary rejoices
Of voices.
Whispering sweet melodies
 of exotic bliss to a
feverous pitch.

Fulfilling extraordinary minds
 with symphonies of chaotic chimes
 the harmony of design.

Beauty of syllables spaces paces existing filling emptiness with exotic rhymes
Blending splendid designs.

Orchestra tuning abstract lines
 facilitating beauty of twin designs
the flavor in a harmony of time.

The elegance of twin designs
 rhyming a single wisdom.
Fulfilling philosophy
With wizardrii.

Flickers

in the shadows the candle flickers
the light is then snuffed out
I realize, what I thought was true
is casting serious doubt

how do we get back to where
the playing board is even
without the hope of trust and love
thinking is not believing

with time comes rust and corrosion
there may be no way back
what I gave that was pure and true
I find that now it was lacking

Premium Member Flickers of Paranoia

Written: February 14, 2025 for Brian Strand Contest

                      ***********

In twilight, specks become stars,
bridges locked in gold,
Engraved whispers on walls
painted with diamond tears.
Singing hearts weave veins of
lilac and jasmine,
A serenade of soul waves,
ebbing through arid shadows.

Dark alleys paint a carnival of
spectral silhouettes,
Roots entwined in forlorn twilight colors,
wine-stained breaths.
Sorrow’s perfume lingers
like raindrops on roses,
Hushed epicedes echo
in the cinereous horizon.

Herbs waltz with heartbeats
beneath a canopy of trees,
Nestled nests console the forlorn
shorebirds at dusk.
Paranoia flickers like sparks
in a delicately hushed night,
Love’s choir sings an elusive refrain of
integrity and sins.

Delirium dances with
egoistic ghosts in the dark,
Tears pirouette like phantasmagoric
mist over steel syntax.
Blurring edges between serenity
and abyssal flare,
spheres clash in capricious vortices
under Gaia's winged gaze.

A whimsical trance catapults dreams
to an eldritch nebulae,
vortices float serenely,
weaving cosmic whispers into the night sky;
hushed murmurs from Eros to Erebus
blend seamlessly with somber threnodies;
in Gemini's embrace they linger
as wisps across Pyxis' burning calyx;
and while Maelstrom gnashes
within Tartarus' volcanic depths;
velleity blooms amidst fervent altar prayers
Echoes waft through Nexus' cavernous voids
to quench desires caught betwixt Chaos &
Gaia's visceral nexus hallucinations.

Premium Member Candle Flames Flickers

The candle light flickers for no reason
even when shielded from stray puffs of wind.
It is an internal thing, rhythm within its being,
a vibrato in its song of pixels waved.
A reminder that making light is tough
squeezing vapor from melted wax, that is wicked
up to furnace of burning flame at tip.
Heating electrons in atoms makes them jump
up to higher energy levels above
before electrons drop back, releasing
splutters of visible light energy.
The process is flawed, with hesitant indecision.
No matter; imperfection can be tolerated in a candle!
There is something charming about flickering, anyway,
When reading a book in soft, warm candle light,
Something that electric lights can never emulate.
Such modern lights only flicker when faulty.

Premium Member Under the shadowed vault of time, where power flickers like a deceptive beacon

Under the shadowed vault of time, where power flickers like a deceptive beacon,
Authority entices the shadows, drawing the basest elements of our kind,
Throughout history, humanity has been shackled by the dregs of the world, slaves to their own decay,
They endure any humiliation, commit any vile act, just to taste the nectar of domination.
The wretched remnants of the world boil in the potion of sovereignty,
Each government, a parliament of debauchery, defiling the soul's virtue,
In the tragic mirror of democracy—whispers reveal that we wear their masks,
Desperate, we cling to the threads of authoritarianism, seeking relief from anxieties.
In the abyss of thought, we dance on fragments of broken dreams,
The narrative flows, a river of lost hopes,
Seeking release in promised power, blind to hidden traps,
Captive in a labyrinth woven from our deepest vulnerabilities.
Eyes darkened by uncertainty gaze toward fragile horizons,
Our hearts, fragile, beat under the weight of perpetual injustice,
We drift into the melancholic reverie of unfulfilled dreams,
Hoping that one day, truth will shatter the illusion we have built.
With arms outstretched to the pale stars of the night,
We find solace in shadows, seeking fragments of pure light,
Dreaming of a world where our sleeping souls awaken to freedom,
An unwritten story, etched with mystic melancholy across the skies.
But until that dawn, in this realm of illusion and unchecked power,
We hold hands in the dark, cherishing the fragility of our hearts,
Imagining a world where our unseen words unlock change,
In a mystic odyssey of poetry and healed souls, under the watchful stars.

Voicemail Heart Flickers

Voicemail Heart Flickers

When the alert sounds,
the source of the mystery is revealed.
Heartbeat flickers,
mind smiles,
your voice distilled, calm and haunting,
as I am the lone soul on the planet and,
the only one who can detect soul’s peace?
In the flurry of the daily,
ups, downs and even outs.	,

The candle flickers, the sunlight fades,
Nearly extinguished, up high the flame leaps
As brilliant rays pierce my heart's horizon
Then disengage, sink slowly into the ashen eve

Where unseen, sparks glow and glimmer
   From my inmost chamber throughout
Night's long deep slumber, until sensing your
Imminent Return, the Blaze Newborn emerging

Flickers of Life

Sometimes to look inside
Takes more than calming highs
Sometimes there’s cyanide
And sometimes I’ll have to die

Oceans of vivid worth
Mixed in with delusion’s birth
I just want to feel the earth
But sometimes this world’s a curse

Poisons in pure streams
Going on until I scream
Faster - the end of me
Too strong to let me breathe

Awake and now in touch
Life holds me in its crutch
I feel for everything
As my soul sees the gathering

Separate and unrepressed
Demons in an angel’s church
I walk the borderline
Both sides wait in my design

Both sides claim I’m divine
Both sides give me each their signs
The light prays that I don’t fall
As my night comes to shadow all
