The Candle Flickers

The candle flickers, the sunlight fades,
Nearly extinguished, up high the flame leaps
As brilliant rays pierce my heart's horizon
Then disengage, sink slowly into the ashen eve

Where unseen, sparks glow and glimmer
   From my inmost chamber throughout
Night's long deep slumber, until sensing your
Imminent Return, the Blaze Newborn emerging

Your silliness knows no bounds, dear Gershon, and my giggles are endless :))

Susan, your vision is sharper than ever. You've seen my '3rd side,' I fear. How did you know that I've gained weight, enough to have a new (3rd) side?! Do you have X-ray vision perhaps? LOL, my friend: I really do appreciate your heartfelt enthusiasm, and I am honored that you have bestowed it upon me---new side or no new side! LOL again. Best wishes always, Gershon

Beautiful write, a tribute to sunrise and sunset which leads me to think of a song. You are magically musical, me thinks.

Oh, perhaps 'Sunrise, Sunset' is what you thought of, from 'Fiddler on the Roof.' Right? (My favorite from that movie is "Do you love me?") Have a lovely sunrise and sunset today, Caren. :) gw

I appreciate your support on this one, David. I really gave it my all. (Not my usual style; romanticism doesn't come easily to a curmudgeon like me). Best always, Gershon
