Flickers of Life

Sometimes to look inside
Takes more than calming highs
Sometimes there’s cyanide
And sometimes I’ll have to die

Oceans of vivid worth
Mixed in with delusion’s birth
I just want to feel the earth
But sometimes this world’s a curse

Poisons in pure streams
Going on until I scream
Faster - the end of me
Too strong to let me breathe

Awake and now in touch
Life holds me in its crutch
I feel for everything
As my soul sees the gathering

Separate and unrepressed
Demons in an angel’s church
I walk the borderline
Both sides wait in my design

Both sides claim I’m divine
Both sides give me each their signs
The light prays that I don’t fall
As my night comes to shadow all
