Best Fleeing Poems
Moon is still behind glum clouds
Sullen is the garb of a silent sky
So much like how he feels tonight
Anxious in the night laden in dark
Stars are opaquely hanging listless
Like the glimmer of her grieved vibes
Dimming in saddened teary eyes
Refusing to proffer a happy smile
A chatter heard from birds’ nest
Breaks their muffled silence
Quivering pulse of anguished feelings
Rattling summer’s lavender dreams
Drifting away in coral winds
From fragrant garden’s ruby appeal
A lone bird now leaves its abode
And sits close by, staring at him
Ambivalent of travails it heard
Unsure to yield, unwilling to leave
Bawl of strife’s persistent despair
Slowly fades in decaying night
As moon is starting to pierce dark,
So are the twinkles of distant stars
Waning in purple of rising dawn
Glinting on blush of the tinted arc
Seeing the lone bird sprinting above
Spanning wings in blazing speed
Fleeing emptiness of vacant scene
Much like him… way ahead of him

Here In The Now, Amidst Fleeing Of Twilight
Here in the now, amidst the pale twilight
that fleeting moment, - dying of the night
that most precious air, - dying of the light
cometh, morn's breath, - its beautiful new sight.
Here in the now, within mind's newest eye
that pondering thought, - let my spirit fly
that exquisite joy, - sweetest tears I cry
cometh, renewed hope, - truth I'll not deny.
Here in the now, as that whisper so thrills
that divine promise, - love needing no pills
that merciful vow, - relief from world's ills
cometh, beautiful truth, - love over-spills.
Here in the now, amidst fleeing of twilight
That stirring moment, - waking God's divine might.

Note (1.):
Poem born from a dream last night
awakening to a day so bright
as twilight's new rays therein gift,
sweet poetic words to uplift,
heart and soul into joyous praise
relief was born from dark malaise.
Note (2.)
A new month, a vow to have a new and positive new start.
To attempt to compose more positive and uplifting verse.
To deny the dark clouds that attempts to overcome
To walk in the light and deny the dark that seeks to destroy....

FLEEING IRMA
spotlight moon, full, like an Old Testament cloud, leading
Floridians forth, not into the desert, but away from the wrath
of Irma. bumper to bumper, neighbors from pilot to caboose,
illuminated in each other’s flood beams. testiness and pride
put aside, as fleeing cars, in camaraderie, brave the calm
before the storm. like the Israelites, they leave behind the
homes they know, put themselves in the hands of God. many
have family and friends north of their beloved peninsula,
an unintended visit, a warm haven, not a picnic nor a vacation,
but each pulls themselves up, for our Southern neighbors
are not of the craven sort. those who choose to live near the sea,
with its beauty and fortitude, know how to batten down the hatches.
hammocks left behind will tangle, and hug palm trees, suffering
the loss of their occupants. hotels, with never ending vacationers,
takes a much needed rest. God believes in rest, sometimes
a seven year sabbath, even when the soul forgets its place. we
pray, even north of the path, in stillness, we must, in gratitude,
never taking for granted, lest we too find ourselves seeking solace
elsewhere. godspeed our tanned Peninsula friends. godspeed
and bless, with safety, tenacity, and love as we reel you in.

Prose Poetry
In this sweet little pig pen
Walls that once were friends
And bold shields
For lounge room warriors
Now barricade
Detain indefinitely, denying
Beyond them imaginings
For ravenous captives
With restless longing and fears
Choose now the door
Indulgence to ruin, or
Patience to pride
An unforgiving master waits
With bitter destinies to navigate
Seize propitious offerings
Fleeing these halls
To uncertain fate
Courage now, groomed in isolation
Seclusion of rooms
No longer resting places.

There's a pain only to remind her that love is a fleeing bird
like a weeping willow you should her heart cry at night
the sweetest melody you ever heard
no memory could compete with that sorrow we call love lost
or what would the broken heart give if it could let the tragedy unfold
it wouldn't fill the void or heal her broken heart
no it wouldn't even come close to replenish this lovers loss
as the century's diminish and millenniums continue to pound the truth home
Oh what a pain we call the fleeing bird

ANOTHER DAY OF FLEEING LIFE
Jaundiced eyes peered
from skeletal sockets
reflecting the daily fear:
Not of inevitable death;
but the agony of life another day.
The permanent stoop
of the frail body---aping
a living trophy of submission,
had long prepared its self
to endure the daily scavenge
of the garbage heap:
What a pity;
even a dying man must eat!

Last night I dreamt of them
Fleeing under the cover of darkness
Liars, adulterers, murderers and thieves
Terrified of the monsters on their heels
They flew into an abandoned house and began pushing old furniture against the flimsy door
When the glass windows shattered and there was a lound bang
An eerie voice cackled and another one sang
Petrified, they turned to look at one another
When they were interrupted by a muffled scream followed by a deep shudder
One of them fell on the hardwood floor
They watched in horror as his hand turn into a freaky animal claw
Shards of broken mirror flew into the air
Into their eyes and into their hair
Every reflection they saw turned into another scream
Pinches! This was reality not some dream
The front door broke into a thousand pieces
Then came a volley of a stink of faeces
When the police arrived they found nobody there
Rumours flew and people said they were killed by a deadly grizzly bear
Three years later the forensic team reopened the case
Other tips from the public led the police to a futile chase
A forensic expert went back to the house and found a single hair
In the lab, she used a pair of tweezers to inspect the strange looking hair
In that moment a strong desire came over her
To touch the thick strand of hair with her bare hand
She felt one pinprick and turned into quicksand.

WE SAW IT COMING,
WE RAN,STAGGERING-
BLEEDING AND BLEATING
SMELLING OF WAR-
AND GREAT WAS OUR WOE
AS BOMBS KEPT DROPPING
FOR OUR BREATHE, STRANGLING-
CAUSING GASPS AND PAIN-
AND MANY WERE LAIN
IN ETERNAL SLEEP
WOUNDED HOT AND BLEED:
SO WE RAN IN WEEPS,
SUPPORTING BROTHERS-
HOW WE RAN! DEFEATED SOLDIERS
WHILE ENEMY GRENADES SHOWERED:
"FLEE! FLEE! FLEE!" THE VOICE OF BROTHERS-
THAT WE PAINFULLY DID,BLEEDING-
"URG!" ANOTHER SOLDIER DROPPING
AND BACK WE WENT TO GIVE A HAND-
HIS RIGHT LEG AMPUTATED HOT
BY GRENADES FROM ENEMY'S POT-
"BUUUUM!" CRIED GRENADES RIGHT FROM BEHIND,
FORCING US ALL RIGHT THROUGH THE PINE:
BUT WAS THIS WHAT WAR MEANT,BUSINESS?
I ASKED MYSELF AS WE FLED WITH ALL MORTAL FORCE-

Fleeing Temptation's Grasp...
There was a great king,
whom did sin and fall.
David. When from his balcony,
Bathsheba he saw.
In his heart... he sinned as
lust was conceived.
A plan of muder in his heart
was soon received.
This sin led to another
and had soon willed.
To have Bathsheba's
husband to be killed.
The consequences of his sin
was later explained.
His first born died, and his
son Absalom was slain.
Once his sin was conceived,
it brought lust and soon death.
Sin is always this way--
until you take your last breath.
Think of the consequences...
and flee tempation FAST.
Enjoy a victory and blessings
from God that will last!

My wife and I return from our honeymoon, and what do we see?
There is a new regime that is overrunning my country.
I have the terrible feeling another war will begin.
It will be started by those goose stepping morons from Berlin.
I have been given orders to report to Bremerhaven.
A commission in the Third Reich’s navy I must begin.
After we appear at the Salzburg Festival tonight,
Maria, the children, and I must take flight.
We cannot stay around to collect the top prize.
Our escorts will receive a most unwelcome surprise.
I have every intention of disobeying the issued order.
My wife, children, and I will be across the Swiss border.
Inspired by the 1965 film “The Sound of Music”

How could she do this to me?
I try to hide as she pulls me back
Frightened to the ground.
Her heart of stone encased by steel
Will never know my pain.
She claims she tries to understand
Why I quickly pull away.
She doesn't seem to notice
She pushes me to the wall.
She pushes me past the edge
I cannot fall into safe arms,
I can't trust anyone or anything at all.
I claw to the surface of an endless black abyss.
The closer I get to the surface,
The further down I sink.
When will this ever cease I wonder?
Never, never, ever again.
