The Metaphor of Time

Time’s metaphor reflects the essence of a constant
and continuous progression into an endless cosmic
void of infinity itself, far beyond mankind’s world
of a defined, finite reality and expectation.

The concept of eternity in this finite construct begs, at
once, much more than a sense of realistic credulity and
understanding. It considers cosmic aspects which often
transcend any earthly notions of a Prufrockian sense of
a melancholic desire that oft pervade the greater human
endeavor.

Eternity is more than any mere snapshot of ongoing and
and progressive actions, and any projected events frozen
in a defined and finite prism of time.

What about immediate actions like:
a rustling of trees and leaves in the wind,
the sounds of human voices near and far away,
the sounds of birds chirping loudly and softly,
the birthing sounds of baby animals in the forest.

Do we just observe and witness such events passively?
-or-
Do we listen for the progression of sounds and cries?
-or-
Do we just sit in moments of observed silence?
-or-
Does it matter in the end at all?

Indeed, there is much to think about in our world of this
finite reality.

This is perhaps why the notion of an endless infinity appeals
to and captivates the finite world of human beings, where the
notions of both cosmic fate and destiny, in an ethereal sense,
play a compelling role worthy of significant interest and a
continuous pursuit of awareness and enlightenment.

Only time will tell! Only Almighty God knows for sure!

Tempus fugit . . . for a good reason!
Tempus omnia revelat . . . always in the end!

Love, Finite

That hidden glade beyond the
leaves
Where the sun don't shine and
time doesn't cease
My eternal pyre burns for you
The apple ripens therein too
Borne with care, bore with
cause
The lonely sundial without
source
A hidden world
A hidden place
Maintained; a space for you
and me
Where our love doth shine and
time doth cease

The Greatest Gift of All?
(A Finite Human Lifespan)
There is pleasure in 'knowing' this life will be ending,
the space my flesh occupies 'opening up' for 'not me(s)'
though my life has been great (I'd say fun for the most part!)
'Term limits' get my vote (more moral than murder most days
(though this option considered gives pause to some poopheads?))!
Short lives can be shorter than most fools may dream is their due
with no gold tubs (or fixes that snake oil can proffer),
wh*res bought for Right's price who'll opine wood's the dipstick of God!

If this poem notes flaws that some have, it's not 'Ballade
of Self' meant to hint my perspective's like gold. Who but cur
would suggest, "Sure, my excrements yellow, hair too! Do
you get it? I've Midas's touch." Check out Emperor's threads! (1)
He wears ties whose broad parts make a fig leaf sing Joke's praise!
His lack of refinement, of values? Wow! Pond scum's faux art?
But discernment's still ours, though we swing with the fairies,
He's Putin a*s kisser, wealth's fool, fake brass carney's 'gold ring!'

Poet's Notes:
Like many, I'm hoping that Republican friends will recover from their
mysterious ailments of loving obfuscation, lack of transparency, flirtation
with both fascism and lingering racism, lack of basic humanity (their homo-
phobic predilections), hatred for the very concept of religious freedom, and
disrespect for women and our Constitution! Whew! Need I say more?

There, but for the Grace of God (I suspect), go I! God help us! Please!

(1) A humorous and 'transparent' (I hope) reference to a famous children's story from my childhood called "The Emperor's New Clothes" (that some may recall).

Finite

The night- serene and dark,
We lay, mellowed in peace,
How silence would embark,
Down to its utter tease.

As no morning moves,
There’s news I don’t see,
only the outside shoos,
but this, this couldn’t be.

Our little bundle of joy
Is heard of- a distant keep,
I want a toy
To lull me back to sleep.

I can’t, there are people all around,
Could I ask them why?
Was it so low to sound
For anyone to pass by.

The crackles, crispy clatter,
Halls that stand still,
That’d been the matter,
Where holes would fill.

The smile, the chill we feel,
No longer a walk in winter,
Would ride us by wheel,
Yet as it'd wither,
There’s a lonesome squeal.

You ask to detest,
But this was a dream,
Sleek as silver, lest
We redeem.

Finite Reach of Terms

The pinnacle source
We strain to unfurl
The mind pulls apart

Seams of iron stand
Accrued throats of steel
Hammered against raw will

But the energy breaks with season
As moods uncovered what went
Secretly finite, scrawling new terms

Finite

12/5/20

Are you really on the right side?
Drawing a fine line
Very little or a lot of content on the timeline

Sippin' beer, red and white wine
Hard during the night time
It's almost always hightime
Getting sky high

No reason to always take my time
I've only got a lifetime
In the dark and where the light shines

Going to leave you on the sideline
Saw it coming, nice try
Never did any good being a shy guy

Okay, I'll speak the truth, I am drunk and I'm high
Let's be honest, why lie?
A lot think they are Einstein

Only if needed, will use any of various lifelines
As I continue to heed guidelines
Near and far from a pipeline
Continuing to climb high
Way off in the distance the skyline
Into so much more than Sci-Fi

Stars in the sky shine
Bigger than "Primetime"
Got to make the best of it, or opportunity will slide by
As "Juice Wrld" already said "I don't really like how time flies"

Not looking for a sign, I'm
Going to fight my
Own battles, proving the point of why try?
Because otherwise I either OD, or I die

I'm in my prime and a nice guy
Not a dummy, a wise guy

Don't need anyone's approval or a high-five
Not always going to abide by
People and their demands, in areas with or without Wi-Fi
Really I tried
But was always out of my mind
The cause of my destruction, always being a high guy
More than twice I
Paid the price by
Messing with dry ice
And being greedy when it came to a slice of the pie

Got to cut you off, no longer my guy
Girl you did me dirty, life is finite
It's far past time I
Say bye-bye

Premium Member The Finite Awesomeness of God

It's a good thing to stop still
to consider who God claims to be
this eternal being has always been
who shall always be forever and free

This is the Lord God rules over all
nothing or nobody can stop his control
no man is able to thwart his will
master tactician is always his role

Ponder much on all of this
the finite awesomeness of God
living with a real godly reverence
knowing the presence of divine rod

So stop to be utterly still
bring to mind the knowledge known
of this God who's sovereign king
sent his son our sins to atone

Learn well of a living knowledge
that this God is supremely real
manifesting his awesome greatness
his great power you'll certainly feel

Utopia and Finite Soap Bubbles

UTOPIA
Land of endless time
Dreams of infinite range
Sweet, succulent, fine
A city without age

UTOPIA
Shinning in expansive glory
A lighthouse for weary souls,
Rid of war’s flashing gory,
A home without Holes.

UTOPI
An Eden in splendor
This Heaven on earth
Void of division of gender,
Class, race; brimming with mirth.

UTOP
A delicate bubble of perfection
God’s greatest intention
Popped by the hand of his creation
Guarded, leaving man without direction.

UTO
This is the story of the beginning
The account of the conVict’s Fall
For we slipped on soap in our sinning,
Our stride reduced to a crawl.

UT
Out of the Soap-maker’s hand
Comes the perfect Man.
A rEflection of that once-wondrous perfection
Now glorified in majestic Resurrection.

U
Bringing Heaven into hearts
And saving the spirit of the lonely voyager,
Calling all man, from every part,
Every bubble-bursting forager:

Now, Come to Me, the Savior;
I redeem you from your failure.
Come to Me, the Prince of Peace;
Be free from hellish wandering.

So Finite Compared To His Glory

It was a new routine , one she never tried before
All from what she had seen In looking for more
She had lost her zest and seemed to be burning out
But this was a test where they needn’t be any doubt

She woke up early on Sunday and began to get ready
Hearing what others would say, this she had to see
The church began to fill as she sat in the back
Reflecting upon her will, how every part seemed to lack

More people would arrive then they turned on the lights
Her heart began to thrive at all the beautiful sights
Soon everyone would sing as the priest walked about
The joy this would bring in beginning to end this doubt

But what the priest had said in his sermon that day
Just stuck in her head and would not go away
As she laid there that night thinking about his story
Oh how life is so finite compared to God’s Eternal Glory

Isaiah 40:28
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable

Finite

Systematic dismantling of
     unselfish giver
left to bear the flag
     of testament
lest you forget why he is
     here
for
you.

Take care of him
    as you do not remember
from whence he
brought
you.

His heartbeats are not limitless.

Finite Time, Real Time

The clock which
runs the cosmos
      is spinning,spinning
            giving off
energy
     The light
which the universe
     gives off
is shining, shining brightly
     The stars which
          adorn the
  sky
             are twinkling
twinkling eternally
      All the love
of the universe
  is ours to seek
      Mortal concerns
are blown away
       by cosmic winds
Let the earth
     beneath your
feet
   inspire you
to taste
   the joys of
these latter day
        dawns
The earth is revolving
    revolving around
it's very own
    special star
    and changing
finite time into
     real time
  something we
     can grasp
before nightfall
