Kathang-isip na mapagkunwari
Ginto'y sa dulo raw ng bahag-hari
Sa huling hininga bumabawi
Nasanay lang sa suwail na gawi.
Araw-araw sumasapit ang gabi
Mga tala'y lumayo sa tabi
Ang hangin lang ang madalas bumati
Tadhana'y sadyang mapaghiganti
Kung maari'y sayo ay lumagi
Giliw huwag na sanang tumanggi
Nawa ating kaluluwa'y mag-sapi
Sa daigdig nating mapang-api
Nagsidigmaan na ang mga lahi
Sa puso kong tinastas ang tahi
Sa'yo o sa leeg ba itatali?
Sakaling maitama ang mali.

Would the world still stand firm and strong
Against the force of quake and storm
That threaten to fiercely perform
Their dreadful might that goes along
With the wind of man’s fault and wrong?

To let him know and comprehend
The message that they rightly send
Under the sun that would ascend
As the year is about to end?

Poetic Form :: The Tanaga
The Tanaga is an indigenous type of Filipino poem,
that is used traditionally in the Tagalog language.
The modern tanaga is used in a variety of Philippine languages
and English due to popularity in the 20th century.
Its usage declined in the later half of the 20th century,
but was revived through a collectivity of Filipino artists in the 21st century.
The poetic art uses four lines, each line having seven syllables only.
The Tanaga consists of four lines with seven syllables each with the same rhyme at the end of each line with an AABB rhyme scheme
with a 7-7-7-7 Syllabic verse.
The art exemplifies teachings, idioms, feelings, and ways of life.
It contains many figures of speech.
The Modern Tanaga, still uses the 7777 syllable count,
but rhymes range from dual rhyme forms: AABB, ABAB, ABBA;
to freestyle forms such as AAAB, BAAA, or ABCD.
Tanagas do not have titles traditionally because the Tanaga
should speak for itself.
However, moderns can opt to give them titles

Boundless love lets its own life stay
Everlasting day after day;
Remaining in its timeless way.
Never will it stop nor delay;
Always giving joy to the gray!
Dateless love lets its own heart beat
Infinitely in rhyme so sweet.
Zone of ageless care so complete
Offers embrace with warmth or heat;
Nullifying the cold conceit!
