Best Festivity Poems
I have seen Millennia in
and now its twenty fifty
I somehow made my century
rejoycing with my family.
It has passed it seems
in the mere eye blink.
Now I remeninsce
held close in loving arms
Festivity floods the senses
stores groaning with toys.
Butchers laden with meat
people scurrying hither and thither.
Shop fronts all lit up
with flashing decorations.
Children's eyes on beanstalks
wish lists growing bigger.
Fridges crammed to the brim
with tempting tasty treats.
Good will for neighbours
as carol singers carousol.
Mothers sweating over stoves
as Dad mixes up eggnog.
Presents colourfully wrapped
adorn Christmas trees feet.
At end of day, happy faces
and a few groaning bellys,
people falling into bed
T'is all done for another year

contest Christmas past, present or future
She sat down with a withered smile
Said this will take a little while
Flash of light upon that chair
& the flame dancing between her hair
Told her YOU'RE wrong
And she was wrong
Angels of god froze her soul
She stopped dancing,stopped moving
And melted between heaven and god
Flames of hair turned into rock
That chair was rock and she was rock
And her whole world silent in rock
And god was smiling in his
Festival of rock

dusk closes today with a black curtain
whisky,grog,we can contain none
sweet saliver of silence:
the snail hardly noticed as it climbs,
its december!
the scattered pieces of this golden dish
bond together under the chanderlier
over the dinning table
like veins and arteries
flowing through my heart
the whistling winds blow
seeds to my nursery bed
to blossom into this charming tree,
one plumule stems branches of surprise
like diamond stars of the skies:
my open palm of many fingers
Beneath the cusp of Sagittarius
The archer stands to aim his arrow bold
Poised to reign on heaven's great nebulous
To pierce winter's heart to usher the cold
Early frost kindles blazing hearths inside
Where huddled happy souls snuggle by fire
And speak kindred words of future Yuletides
Festively singing with voices inspired
Thanksgiving supper brings smells to delight
Friends and folks rejoice with good hearts living
The blessings of days with holidays bright
The wondrous festive 'Season of Giving'
Beneath the cusp of Sagittarius
The gift of thanks brings out the best in us

As spring unfurls its mystical charm
and masterly sprinkles star-dust
to rouse nature from the cradle of slumber.
Joy overspreads through the excited cool breeze
that carries the invitation to each and every one.
It's the much awaited lovable time of jubilation,
celebrated by the spirit of nature in a spectacular way.
Cherry dawn breaks in with a new merry morn,
effervescence fizzes out of sun's rosy rays.
The azure sky shines brightly as a beautiful awning
with motifs of white clouds designed on it.
The ground covered with emerald dyed velvet carpet,
embellished with sparkling beads of dew so fresh
which exudes a soothing sensation.
The cascades of crystal spring water gush and flow
with an enchanting harmonious rhythm
and form meandering creeks, brooks and streams
that animate the soil with pizzazz.
Such luster could be seen everywhere
as new leaves so green, grow with a sheen
and adorn the trees with stunning robes of foliage.
Lovely flowers bloom, wearing colorful gowns
and dance on their slender stalks with flamboyance.
Their refreshing fragrance pervades the breeze
and triggers a crave in the jaunty bees and butterflies
to taste the nectar of their blossoming youth.
They flirtatiously buzz and gyrate with frenzy,
choosing from roses, lilies, daisies and many more.
Nightingales, larks and cuckoos sing their voices out
with most melodious tunes of great finesse.
Squirrels, hares, all in pairs like a doe and buck deer
romantically engage in games of hide and seek.
The bliss of spring festivity inspired the poet in me
to dip my white quill in colors of rainbow ink
and inscribe its glory all over myself as a prismatic memoir
to comfort me in days of unbalanced heat and cold.

April decorates emerald Nature
with an unexpected snowy festivity
that resembles a season so wintry;
will the warm snow drift offshore?
it's a big thrill at the start of this awaited spring,
will it kill all the little buds that are a living thing?
Will the spotted-winged thrushes delude the bridegroom?
Who's more afraid than him to feel an improvised doom?
Not everybody thinks that a snowy festivity
can surprise and allude to the winter's beauty
already forgotten by the worries of the day;
they wish is to see light, not a sky so grey!
And to their utter discontent, stormy clouds gather,
then a roaring thunder explodes above their heads...
bringing showers to wash the distress off their faces:
they understand that hopelessness is useless fear!
Carefully we planned for the big day
Oblique qualms and doubts drove me away
Moody and thoughtless insensitivity
Maudlin thoughts curbed the festivity
Onerous thoughts like small transmitters
Now revealed my flutters and flitters
Ashamed, you admitted you had the jitters
Laughingly we both had learned
Intimacy shared is intimacy earned
Treasuring our love, our life unknown
You and I, together we’ve grown.
Title: "Jingle Bell Blues"
(To the tune of “Jingle Bells”)
Verse 1:
Dashing through the store,
On a frantic holiday,
Grabbing gifts galore,
In a checkout line ballet.
Lights are burning bright,
Tinsel’s everywhere,
Oh, what fun it is to fight
For the last plush teddy bear!
Chorus:
Jingle bells, sales from hell,
Credit cards take flight,
Oh, what pain it is to shop
On a Christmas Eve night!
Jingle bells, wallets swell,
Budgets out of sight,
Oh, we’ll eat just ramen cups
Until the next July!
Verse 2:
Baking burnt fruitcake,
Cookies taste like coal,
Grandma says it’s great,
But her eyes betray her soul.
Kids unwrap their toys,
Battery-free and sad,
“Next year, Santa, bring me joy,
Or just a shiny iPad!”
Chorus:
Jingle bells, stories tell,
Family drama’s rife,
Oh, Aunt Sue and Uncle Lou
Rehash their warring strife.
Jingle bells, tattle tells,
Santa’s list is tight,
Oh, he’ll skip the naughty homes
And keep his sleigh in flight!
Bridge:
Oh, but still we smile and cheer,
Through the chaos and the din,
For Christmas brings that magic near,
Where love is tucked within.
Final Chorus:
Jingle bells, laughter swells,
Hearts are warm tonight,
Oh, what joy it is to share
This season’s shining light!
Jingle bells, no farewell,
Keep the spirit bright,
Oh, we’ll hum this Christmas tune
Until the next year’s sight!
